love this...... from one speaker groupie to another.......... we should ask jbl and macintosh to pony up some vintage stock and build the real deal......... btw, tonite in SF is the Jim Irsay Collection.... with Tiger on display...... i think mr irsay would love to support you.... and your full size wall o sound , of course, is a natural for a tour...... with Billy Strings Dead Tribute Band!!!!!! last comment...... why is it 100 watt d-130 15 inch speakers w/ a 100 watt tube amp sound as loud as modern PA w/ 2000 watts....... i own a fender twin into a 4x12....... and i own a jbl srx815p (2000 watt crown amp w/ 15 inch modern speaker)........ the 100 watt twin keeps up fine...... with equal or better tone......... there must be some benifit to making hi power drivers and 2000 watt amps, built in, .......... i bring this up because u said this mini wall uses twice, or more, watts......with much smaller drivers....... is there any consideration to use jbl d-130's or clones of these ?
It’s about SPL’s not watts. JBL’s were very efficient speakers and took fewer watts to produce the same spl’s. JBL is a different company now but there are plenty of vintage speakers out there. I’ll start the full scale as soon as this one sells.
When it's mentioned that this version of the Wall takes double the amount of juice to get half as loud, why is that? This is all fantastic! Can't wait to see more come together. Keep up the awesome work
Generally smaller speakers are less efficient. For example. Put 1w into a 12” speaker rated at 103db will give you 103db at 1 meter. A speaker rated at 93db will be 10db less at 1 meter. 10db represents a doubling of perceived volume. To add 10db you need 10x the wattage. SO, 10 watts into a 103db speaker would be the same as 100w into a 93 db speaker approximately.
Class D is anything but dirty. Even Meyer Sounds new systems are class D. Now, the class A MC’s in the wall were part of the tone of the instruments. For the most part that can be emulated and fool 99% of the people listening. In reality, the MC’s were not the real benefit of the wall. It was the setup and how it was operated that really differentiated it from other systems.
Outside of the $1.5 - $2m that I don’t have, a half scale is more useable for a large theatre venue which makes it accessible to more people at less cost. The full scale needs a permanent arena sized venue which is a longer term project with a budget that far exceeds just the cost of the wall. The smaller projects were designed to demonstrate to the people that will need to fund it that there is significant enough interest to take on the project.
Awesome Job Anthony and crew! Y’all are doing God’s work.
That is so cool. And great playing, too!
I absolutely love this, way to keep it going!!
go on tour with it
Can't wait for the 1.5 scale.
This is so great! I would definitely pay to come up and have my band plug in to this. For real!

Love It!!
How do you get away without the dual out-of-phase vocal mics?
I’m using Optogates which cut the mics by 16db the moment you move more than a few inches away. EQ out a few frequencies and no more feedback.
Will there be a public viewing for this? I live in RI and would love to see this in action.

@@ac4068 Thanks. That's so interesting to know and understand
I'm sorry, but how can it be accurate when the whole thing is powered by a few Class D amplifiers? Isn't that considered "dirty sound"?

Need any help?
Why are you scaling the build? Seems a lot more expensive than just going for the full one right off.
'Cos they'd need a bigger church?!? 🤣
