i love WOD and Adam as a player and musician, but my biggest pet peeve on RR is when they spend so much time explaining the nerdery of the rig, while holding a guitar, yet never hit a preset and play a few chords or lines so we HEAR it. so many of the RR episodes are like this. love it overall tho.
I use about three pedals, and I’m tripping over them and wires pretty much all the time. He has all those pedals and still has that nice carpet to walk around on.

Wow a Scholz Power Soak ?! It may have been one the earlier attenuators, and Tom is genius, but mine was an ugly sonic chainsaw to my amp’s top end. Great for practice sessions in my apartment though.
These days it's about how small you can make the touring rig, so people go to axe fx and hx stomps, which is fine, they sound great, but there's just something about a real amp pushing air through a cabinet with a big board of pedals to color the sound which has a certain sound and presence to it, just a more physical experience.

I don’t get the hoopla with this band or this player. I’ve played with people like this who have mile long pedal boards and go thru multiple amps but their tone is vanilla at best. Beige wallpaper. No soul.

I think the idea is that you can hear it in any live recording of the band in question so they devote their limited time to the "how" instead.
