A 6 pounder blackpowder cannon being described as "quite portable", is probably the most accurate pirate thing i've ever seen.
it is technically a swivel gun. Made to be easier to aim for short range engagements at sea or in the defense of a fort or building. This is exactly what is intended to be at the top of your stairs loaded with grape shot for when 3 rapscallion come into you home to commit a robbery. Or mounted on the passenger side of your car to ward off any car jackers.

If you had a multimeter you could probably figure out which cables were the battery, they're a super useful tool.
James you should add the most professional looking racing seat for the driver and then like a plastic chair for the passenger seat. If anyone asks the driver seat is as far as the budget went.

on one hand , ive got Garbage Time refurbing a little 80's Nissan hatchback with the most scuffed paintjob in the world, and on the other hand, I've got Jameskii turning a yugoslavian car into a pirate ship

It only seems right to properly mount the cannon. But to add to the chaos, RGB interior and undercarriage lights. With a cheeky bit of electrical engineering you could totally have them react to the AC, the horn, hazards, hell even with the dashboard warning lights

You should totally add some underglow lights. They would complement the car so beautifully.
Also, a small pirate flag would be funny, but it can't be too big cuz of legal reasons.
Jameskii, the horn button is simply a switch. In other words, there is no positive or negative necessarily, as the switch just closes and opens a break in the circuit.

There's just something inherently amusing about watching you repair a car that doesn't want to, and shouldn't, exist.
I will say, this and a garbage time crossover would be amazing
Jameskii needs to add the cannon to the top the car
Word of the wise, cars run DC circuits. AC is the stuff that makes your hair stand up and uses neutral wires. DC is just power and ground. The only way you get shocked is by touching a spark plug wire, and it wont kill you. And you can use a vice grip on the shock for that rear hatch to keep it up. Loving this build too.

Pro tip, put the whole AC unit in the car and vent the condenser portion through an insolated pipe out the roof. You will need a fresh air tube with a fan to blow outside air onto the condenser and have another exit that vents the hot air to the outside. Reverse for the winter, as if you would drive it in winter.
the yugo turning on mid winter would classify it as the 8th world wonder (i say that from experience)
from there he can break the back window and mount the swivel gun on top of the AC and fire it at will. wonderful!
All memes aside, I’d love to see James try and turn the Yugo into the best car it can possibly be. Not a car guy so I have no idea what that’d be like, but it’s definitely a good title “turning the worst car ever into the best car ever,”
Honestly if he can get that car to stop stalling at the slightest breeze going against it that'd probably be the best shape a Yugo has ever been in since it was made
An engine swap some good brakes and fresh suspension components would make it fun

I know, add a duck hood ornament for aerodynamics, because we all know that duckies are the most aerodynamic animal that exists (or borzoi hood ornament if you can find one)
Make it so that the canon actually works.
You can make it safe by using a speaker that makes a bang noise and a smoke machine. That way you don't have to use any real explosives

If you're in the US you can just buy a cannon. Its legal to own a cannon, always has been. Heck, many people who own cannons and old fashioned mortars join reenactment clubs and there are places that still hold mortar firing competitions
Makes sense. After all, if you have enough gunpowder to fire a cannonball, you have enough gunpowder to build a few pipebombs.
Cannons aren't just legal in the US, they're legally not firearms since a firearm is legally defined as a gun using a 100% self-contained cartridge (in essence, consisting of primer, propellant and projectile in one package)
You can have a cannon mailed to your house at any time

To my knowledge, the only ones available without a license are genuine antique long-arms made before 1898 that don't use certain cartridges contemporary to the time that law was written, as well as any long arm with a matchlock, flintlock or wheel-lock action.

Some states do treat black powder guns as a firearm and are subject to the same laws, however, most states you could get a canon, or even a musket sent to your house without any paperwork. Another fun fact is black powder guns (except like certain cartridge guns, unless that is no longer sold in the US or very difficult to get your hands on) can still be owned by felons though most states don’t allow that

the majority of old horn buttons work that way, positive wire comes from fuse box to horn then to the wheel where pressing down will complete circuit of positive (wire) to ground (steering column metal), because nearly all the metal in a car is ground. The negative from your battery will often go straight to the frame then their will be a grounding strap going to the frame to engine and sometimes other parts.
The horn cable is just a signal cable, when you ground it, it closes a relay, where the current actually flows through. The current on that signal cable is minimal

I did not know how buff Jameskii is and now im conflicted seeing the funny game breaker man casually is now driving a car that should never have existed while having one of the most defined bodies ive ever seen.
It's a body overlay, not an actual body they're usually moulded out of silicone and adjusted to blend to your skin

Watching you figure out the horn wiring was funny. I had the same issue 5 years ago when I started out modding my cars.
Now I have four project Miatas, three of which are broken for different reasons, and I make custom electronics / parts for them.
And it all started out with a custom steering wheel :)
