    I had the PPF coating put on the front of my car, and ceramic coated; and windows tinted. Glad I saw your video before my car was delivered in Sept 2022. A video you may have done, that I missed, was how to put your car in Car Wash Mode. I have my car hand washed and detailed, BUT once I went to a high end drive through car wash, and panicked when the guy told me to put my car in Neutral! I had NO idea what to do and didn’t recall a video on this. He didn’t speak English which made it more difficult. Someone several cars in line behind me, who had a Tesla, put his hand inside my car and showed me how to put my car in Car Wash Mode. Very simple but requires several steps that if you don’t go to a car wash often, you need to refresh yourself on the steps! 😅

    Great job on the X. It looks amazing with the tint, PPF and ceramic coating. IMO these are must have's for any new vehicles. I must say the black tinted front windows look so nice against the black paint. I had my blue Model Y tinted and PPF'd as well. For tints I went front and rear side windows, back window and glass roof. I wanted heat/UV protection all round as I was told the darkened rear side windows from factory do not provide heat rejection. For PPF I did front, rear bumpers plus frunk. I wrapped my side mirrors in CF so they're protected in that sense. Also had the interior centre console area plus dash wrapped in CF.

    I found it interesting to see they used a silicone water removal tool (squeegee). A plush microfiber and air is always preferred as dirt can be lifted off instead of dragged over the paint. The surface under the PPF should have been polished as well, at least if you want it to look as best it can.

    I can’t find my previous comments but want to let you know I was at my expel detailer today checking on window protection from sandblast and heat plus glare protection. They say no problem. There is an expel product for the outside of the windshield that is clean. Then inside clear or tinted for heat and glare. They’ve never had cracked windshield with either product and there is a warranty that would cover replacing windshield if necessary. Whew! Good news.

So when I got my model Y (triple black ) I invested in full car ppf. It’s hard to keep a black car clean in Arizona. I love it. I use a micro fiber cloth and detailed to clean the car. Great job. I would recommend any new Tesla buyer to do this as soon as possible after getting your car as you don’t want paint chips prior to putting your ppf on. FYI , now they do ppf in different colors. I also tinted all my windows in my model y, including the glass roof and the front windshield. As a hint for those who know a car detailer. I had a detailer come with me to examine the car and he took it to the shop right away to work on it as I was lucky not to have any misalignments or paint defects that they couldn’t take care of himself. All other things that needed Tesla appointment had nothing to do with the areas that involved the ppf or window tinting and it took a couple of weeks to make anyway. Enjoy your car. The ppf and ceramic combination will make taking care of your X much easier, especially due to the weather climate your job in. You should consider doing the same for your Y as well

    • @teslaownersperspective1968
      @teslaownersperspective1968  2 роки тому

      Luckily I don't have the same issues with the X that I did with the Y. The white color in the Y allows me to not apply the PPF. Even in its dirtiest state the Y always looks clean. The black on the other always looks like I drove it through a salt mill.

    • @tmorcos21
      @tmorcos21 2 роки тому

      @@teslaownersperspective1968 you are right, the white does hide dirt and road dings. I have a white on white y performance and for me it an investment for a few years to come. You know well that Teslas are known for soft paint and road junk that hits your front fender area will eventually be taken over rock dings if you do any road trips at all. That is my only point. Hopefully you will not have to worry about it. Keep up the great work

    If you used ceramic tint in the front , should consider tinting the back with same ceramic but a lighter shade. I was told the windows were smoked from factory. Maybe you can confirm that. That’s what I plan for my model x. Gonna tint top roof and all the windows with ceramic tint for heat rejection. Maybe might do wind shield too with 70%

    • @teslaownersperspective1968

      I don't think its ceramic tint. They did ceramic coating on the body. Also Im not sure if you can change the factory tint that came with the X. The factory tint works well on all the windows. The real issue is the front windshield. Its terrible in the sun.
