    I Love the interaction Yanis has with your dad Billy, especially when he says let’s crack on then puts his arm on your dads shoulder and says come on Mick. He looks up to your dad as his own father figure.

      Mick's description and demo of the installation of the terracotta ceilings was fascinating. Until the explanation I couldn't work out how it possible to use terracotta for a ceiling. Thanks Mick.

      Oh Billy! Plaster boarding on your own? (Gyproc we call it in Australia). I've renovated five houses and gyprocing on your own is HELL! My heart goes out to you young man.

      @@rorystapleton2838 Yes, it sure is heavy over here, I've watch men working and it's always 2 men per sheet. My Dad built his own home here in Sydney back in the 50's and did everything on his own, he designed and built a lift for the gyprock. The only exception was the gyprock on the large loungeroom ceiling, his brother drove down from near the Queensland border to help with that one. Mick P reminds me so much of my Dad who could do anything.... 🦘

    Can’t believe I survived Vietnam War and civil rights protests, disco partying in the 70 -80’s, raising 2 kids like Billy, Michael and Sadie, 2 marriages outliving one of them.. Grandkids and great grandkids now that we will leave this world for them to live hopefully in PEACE..

    Billy, save your back and purchase a sheetrock (plaster board) cart. Carrying each piece from one building to another is for the birds! If a wind caught the sheetrock while you’re bringing it over, you could put yourself out of commission for days or weeks. It would also save you so much time, it would pay for itself very quickly.

    • @fredericrike5974
      @fredericrike5974 Місяць тому

      Billy, a sheet rock cart will also handle doors laid on their sides, several at a time, they are easy to rig with ratchet straps to lift bundles of sheet rock up to upper floors. Also, if you are setting on a frame that has regular dimensions, you can use your tape measure, locked for each line to layout for the screws. And last, real sheet rock guys change the knife blade two or three times a day- save time and it actually prevents getting hurt when stuck blades suddenly come free. Best to you all!

Cosy breakfasts/lunches/dinners in the dining room after having prepared it together in the kitchen and in the evening chilling in a room with a big fireplace and afterwards of to bed in one of the lovely bedrooms with onsuites.
