Much love from an OG Myspace fan! Latest album is sounding fucking doooope. 🤘🤘🤘thanks for your amazing, brutal talent and for providing a release for us metalheads! 👊
@@xtheyan Think I have been asking for this video since you started this channel 😂 thank you ❤ idk how I missed the initial upload 😑 my all time favorite Deathcore band 🖤🔥🖤 seen them live at least 4 times and plan on seeing them a many more 😂
The first 4 albums are the definition of deathcore that is made by musicians who love death metal and they are still crushing it after all these years.
@@YaBoyJRock42069 depends on your view of the genre. If you associate Blackened with keyboards, I get your point. If you view it as Deathcore with Black Metal Riffs and Vocals, to me, it starts here
@@terriblecertainity100% agree. Seems like the deathcore kids in here don't listen to much black metal, but most of the riffs in Until I Feel Nothing are heavily inspired by melodic/occult black metal bands like Dissection, Intestine Baalism, Necrophobic, Watain and Naglfar. In turn, Carnifex influenced some of the modern occult and prog black metal acts like Misthyrming, Gaerea, Svartidaudi and Harakiri For The Sky.
please do a full backstory on As Blood Runs Black, they had so many different members and how they got fucked over by their record label is an important story that aspiring musicians need to hear.
Agreed. ABRB is probably my favorite deathcore band. I hear basically no one ever mention them tho. Yan has been the only person I've seen recently even mention them. Even if it is just to mention.
I was kinda late to the As Blood Runs Black train. Only now starting to get into the band. The first song I heard from them was "My Fears Have Become Phobias" and I wasn't all that impressed, but then I listened to "The Brighter Side Of Suffering", and I only recently started to get into the rest of the stuff on Allegiance
Right there with ya on that one. My friend/vocalist of the post-hardcore band I was in showed me the video for Lie To My Face in his dorm room and as soon as it got to "WHAT THE FUCK?!" I was like," alright. these dudes are fucking nuts. this is great." 🤘🤘🤘👊👊👊 (edit: my parents moved to a street literally called Whitechapel Way two years back and I showed my 76 year old dad Whitechapel...he wasn't very into it but as a fan of Black Sabbath and etc. he was like "this shit is waaaay too much for me. but I can see why you have liked them for years. they're definitely talented." Bahahaaa my mom hated it but she has hated all the metal I have ever listened to. she's more of a Rod Stewart type of lady 😂

I knew these guys back when they started out in 2005, they always asked to jump on every local show and would play any spot on the bill, no complaints. Scott used to bring this 50's style microphone to every show so he had his own, it was funny. They literally blew up out of nowhere, I used to hate on that a bit cause I thought they were a suicide silence/black dahlia rip off but looking back, I was just jealous of their success while a lot of us in that local scene weren't getting the attention that they were. They absolutely deserve the love they get. They worked their ass off to get where they are. They were always amazing live. Shout out to Scott, Cory and Shawn, real homies back in the day!
Hell yes! Was waiting for the day you made a Carnifex video. Dead In My Arms will always be in my top 3 deathcore albums of all time. I've always seen it as The Cleansing's blackened twin brother in some weird way. Great video as always man!
"Until I Feel Nothing" is underrated. Of course, it's a transitional album between "Myspace deathcore" and their later more polished works with lots of death and black metal influence. But in that case it actually works: the album combines cool breakdowns, fast melodic parts and interesting decisions from "The Diseased..." with dark atmosphere that we can hear now on "Necromanteum*. And Scott's vocals are devilish on the album
I've been a fan since 2008 but only last December I got the chance to see them live here in Brazil. Damn, all the waiting was definitely worth it! They still pull out an amazing show and Scoot's such a beast live! I also got the chance To hang a little with them after the show is over, take some pictures, it was awesome! the upcoming record is BY FAR my favorite Carnifex record. Slow Death is just pure blackened deathcore perfection and paved the way for a lot of todays bands
Love Carnifex. My personal favorites are a tie between Slow Death and Die Without Hope. I love that they were early adopters of the "blackened" sound and those two albums are still two of my favorite blackened deathcore records. My favorite non blackened Carnifex album is The Diseased and Poisoned. Despite the blackened era being my favorite, my favorite Carnifex song is Enthroned In Isolation
the love lies in ashes ep is what got me addicted to deathcore. ill never forget those early songs from their myspace. bought the diseased and the poisoned cd the day it released. love this band to death.
Thanks for including so many track snippets! A lot of other channels make cool videos about bands too, but they often only show one snippet per album, which is a shame. I really like your approach!
Bro love your channel, such classic and confirmable intel. I’m just always so bummed on never hearing you mention All Shall Perish. I mean there is a lot to talk about, and I can stress enough how much I love your channel and content but I feel like you’re missing such a big pillar of deathcore. Still so much love for ya. Thank you for your content. You're the coolest person that I'm subscribed to. And I love Carnifex! I love Black Dahlia Murder, too. You should totally do a video on them
broooo when's the next part coming? Amazing video as always. imo Carnifex is one of the most interesting og deathcore bands because their willingness to experiment with black metal influences ended up predicting the direction of modern deathcore. They also never lost their shine with time! Their 2 most recent albums are without a doubt their two strongest, and continue to develop the blackened deathcore style even as all these younger bands push boundaries with their own takes on it
As a newer deathcore fan I dont understood why death metal bands didn’t like deathcore. Most heavier deathcore bands still have blasts and breakdowns are fucking awesome.
because deathcore bros wore tight jeans, stretched ears and lip piercings, and had emo haircuts. also, they were criticized for not being able to play the guitar, just because of breakdowns.
The deathcore aesthetic was a lot different than the death metal or traditional metal bands, and that was the big issue. They were considered the "g slur" because they looked more like they should be in like a band like Silverstein or Underoath than bands like Cannibal Corpse or Obituary. And also they were more popular and had more mainstream appeal than bands like, say, Suffocation or Necrophagist.
I only discovered you a few months ago and I gotta say genuinely appreciate someone doing a deep dive on my generation . Idk if you've done this already but I think the number 12 looks like you could use an episode.
