The vocalist was super underrated for the simple reason. - Black Metalist High - Deathcore Mids - Also Hardcore Mids - Deathcore Lows and Grindcore Lows He had a variety 💯
Very humbled to see someone have done their research on the band. I am bummed that the first year and a half of the band under that name and the 3 years before that under a different name didn’t get covered and is only covered from the entrance and Pat onward (or anyone’s projects since) but this was a cool retrospective to hear from the inside looking out again. Appreciate the coverage, homie. Had no idea at the time this record would go on to mean something. When we were touring, we were making $75 a night, playing to 30-40 people tops, and reviewers HATED Proprioception. Was super easy to not care about and throw it away at age 21 based on that, especially with the Statik Factor meddling before that.
And if anyone’s curious about what my stupid ass has been up to after this band, this is the current joint. ua-cam.com/video/-FYi_BdF5fQ/v-deo.htmlsi=6qjXokMIWmBgygmc
You guys were innovative as hell with a dark melodic/black metal/deathcore infusion. It sucks that at the time anything labeled "deathcore" was considered a laughing stock to most reviewers, when it was much more nuanced than that. The new stuff sounds sick though brother!
Listened to This Night a million times & the ending still gets me every time. the gang vocals and breakdown at the end, one of the greatest moments in all of deathcore
@@slaythembeforeme I remember my cousin putting me on This Night Is and heard the gang vocals once and took me a year later to find out who the band was, I was a freshman back in 09 😂 but that part when he says,” Let go your Moral Anchor and descend beside me” I nut everytime I hear that, Also In Vastness, I Transfigure is a BANGER
Proprioception was huge for me!!! They played in Riverton Wyoming with Knights of the abyss and blew our HS group away!! Definitely a huge influence on what I do today
Yeah they're fuckin sick as Fuck! Even what they did with Dan Tucker, he did Amazing on Quietus! Can't wait for their new stuff to drop! They Never disappoint. 🤘🏻😼🤘🏻 🕯️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🕯️
This is so fucking cool. Pat told me he was doing this a while ago, but i literally discovered you last week and thought "Huh, it'd be cool if he did one on us" and then boom we get the link in the group chat. Im so glad you enjoyed the unreleased stuff and I think everyone is going to absolutely love our new vocalist!
Amazing shit man. I love seeing all the bands that I loved in high school have a story told. Please do one on Salt the Wound! Ahead of the curve back then imo.
Domian still my #1 album. I am bummed you never mentions Fatal Afire though, seems like a large stepping stone left out, theres even the demo stuff out there to be listened to aswell. Edit:Thank you for covering it and every other band. Love the content my dude!
@sweatymcswampass thats sick my guy. I have heard the actual demos and stuff. They still float around on youtube but im sure at a little lower quality.
Thanks for reviewing this band. I was replaying their full albums all week. Thinking I was crazy for enjoying it but you did an awesome review bro. I wish I was a little older to experience that era of music growing up.
Pat is extremely talented. He can conquer anything he puts his mind to. He actually started the band Amateur Murder with his friends and then filled in on bass for Ares Letum (they were sooo damn sick).
Dude, I can't believe you covered one of my all time favorites! This is such a blast from the past! So glad I found this channel now. I would also love if you could cover Whisteria Cottage! What a glorious band it was! Thank you and keep up the great work!
These guys and Job for a Cowboy (thank you unnamed hero who did the Spongebob meme) were my serious introduction to REALLY heavy music in general and I'lll be forever grateful. I still remember the first time I put the burned the mp3 version of Prioprioception in my dad's hi-fi system (my computer didn't have speakers) expecting something like Slipknot. Boy was I wrong lol, Deadworld Reclamation felt like a cannonball to the head to 13 years old me. I still listen to them and their new stull is very good lyrically (especially the Chemical Reality EP), but I still miss Nick's piercing highs
Oh what a flashback! I saw these guys for the first time in 2010 when they supported Arsonists Get All The Girls for their “Portals” tour. They were with AGATG, Ion Dissonance and Within The Ruins (the hometown boys in Massachusetts at the time) and these guys RIPPED! I became a fan immediately. Thank you for covering this band and many others from this era. It really brings me back on a great nostalgia trip!
I didn't discover this band until about 2014 and I was honestly sad they had already broken up by that point. SO glad they ended up doing an EP and album after though! They leveled up and it shows!
I remember first discovering these dudes on an old Compilation album that featured "This Night Is The Coroner's" and was immediately hooked, ended up buying the physical CD especially for how dope the album cover looked 🤘 Hyped to know they got more material on the way, hopefully with a UK tour as I've never had the chance to experience their sets live 🙏😁
That’s wild I was just thinking last night you should do one with and hell followed with and here it is!!! Literally my favorite deathcore band of all time
Picked up Proprioception because of the album art when it came out at my record store. Damn good album, and the first deathcore release to pull me on board. I remember they were playing one date near me and I missed it and then they broke up, smh lol.
Proprioception will never be matched. There are only a few other deathcore albums that, in my opinion, are on that level. I loved Quietus and The Jewels of Irn ep.
For some reason I thought the mix for Domain was absolutely horrible, it had no base and the sound felt muddled. Really think that album needs to be redone soon
I went to see them on that Suffokate tour, it would have been my first time seeing them and I was so excited. All the bands were there at the venue and before the show even started the venue decided they weren't going to let anyone play. I don't think anyone did anything wrong, they just didn't like the bands or crowd they brought... It was in Long Beach, CA at some pizza restaurant.
One of about six bands I still listen to from genre. I agree this is the best album in the entire genre. Vocals are insane. I actually did a little vocal audition sample of theirs on my channel. Lol it was recorded on my phone so in like 8 minutes so it's not really good but it was fun fun. Love this band
and thus And Hell Followed With is forever engraved into the deathcore hall of fame. lol. that album was ON REPEAT when it came out. reminded me of a better version of with blood comes cleansing, no shade, since i also liked that band. to me proprioception is the sound of myspace deathcore perfected. with that being said, another good video bro. is the yellow sign the first downtempo deathcore band? because ive always had that impression. i'd also like to see you cover knights of the abyss. their album "the culling of wolves" is another example of perfected deathcore, and it only came out a month after proprioception.
i remember THESE GUYS! hell yeah! also, dope AAF shirt, dude. that band is so underrated. 👊😎 (edit: just noticed the tattoo of some shears above your left eyebrow! you a barber, too? i've been cutting hair for 15 years! that's also dope! best job ever. 😎
neeed to do: Killwhitneydead Martydom/cherub A black rose burial Through the eyes of the dead Winter solstice Mychildren Mybride there's so many more I cant think of right now but keep up these awesome videos man! keeping all these classics alive \m/
That winter solstice record is my favorite metalcore record of all time. So many cool riffs and unique breakdown patterns. Vocals too so fucking awesome
The band was never the same after Nick. He is what set them apart imo. His new band Wounded Touch is insane tho…it would be cool if you could try to highlight some of these artists current projects in these videos. Just some constructive criticism.
I just discovered proprioception this morning and was blown away by the vocals. Went to check some live performances and saw that you just released this vid. Crazy timing!
Amazing story I had no clue that Chad was a part of the AHFW universe that’s so awesome . But i do have to say in my opinion their newer material everything they’ve made after Proprioception I haven’t really been wowed by anything. They’ve kinda fallen into that category of generic music imo and trust me I have no problem with generic music I mean deathcore has got to be one of those genres where so much stuff sounds repetitive I love so many bands who all sound the same but something about their new material just does not hit the way that first album did. Maybe the fact that they were out of the scene for over 10 years but regardless amazing story.
Ah yes I forgot about these guy's, I haven't listened to them in year's. Remember seeing them back in 2010 on my 20th birthday, they're were obviously great. I miss this sound, no offense but deathcore nowadays sounds way too overproduced.
If yall didnt know, probably the last song nick ever did was a feature for a band called upon hallowed ground, i strongly urge you check that out as well as nicks black metal side project TRAITOR
Proprioception is my favorite deathcore album of all time, nice to meet another who agrees!
I knew I couldn't be the only one
Same. To this very day it's still the best
Agreed the album holds the throne for their Era of deathcore
It’s crazy I produced this album and love seeing this years after. Produced king as well because of these guys. Sick digging on the Michigan scene!
Absolute Tonerific music
You killed it brother. Thanks so much for playing a part in deathcore history.
The vocalist was super underrated for the simple reason.
- Black Metalist High
- Deathcore Mids
- Also Hardcore Mids
- Deathcore Lows and Grindcore Lows
He had a variety 💯
Criminally underated band. Proprioception is 10/10

You sir are still my favorite vocalist to this day. Proprioception and your vocals have carried inspiration for 14 years now.
Meddling? I've been trying to figure out how that label housed 3-4 bands that broke out at the same time but just vanished.
This Night Is The Coroners and Deadworld Reclaimnation is STUPID INSANE, I’m happy that they are making a comeback 🔥
Listened to This Night a million times & the ending still gets me every time. the gang vocals and breakdown at the end, one of the greatest moments in all of deathcore

Proprioception still lives in my head rent free

This band has been on my playlists since highschool. I had Domain on repeat since I found it back in 2008. Love this band.
From and old deathcore head(43) I agree this one is the best deathcore album of all time! Loved it so much and still jam it!
I didn't discover this band until about 2014 and I was honestly sad they had already broken up by that point. SO glad they ended up doing an EP and album after though! They leveled up and it shows!
Never seen you before. Channel recommended after listening to the album.
Glad i clicked and watched. Good video mate.
Still waiting for the story of the homies as blood runs black

Fuck YESSSSS!!!! They were WAY UNDERRATED THANK YOU FOR COVERING THEM!!!!!
That’s wild I was just thinking last night you should do one with and hell followed with and here it is!!! Literally my favorite deathcore band of all time
Super interested in this. Find it awesome that there are youtube channels specialized on such niche topics
Grew up in Michigan and remember hearing about these guys super early on. Proprioception is still my favorite album to this day.
Dude this is an awesome video and I can't even believe it exists. I didn't think anyone listened to this band!
Picked up Proprioception because of the album art when it came out at my record store. Damn good album, and the first deathcore release to pull me on board. I remember they were playing one date near me and I missed it and then they broke up, smh lol.
Chimerical Reality is one of my favorite EPs.
Proprioception will never be matched. There are only a few other deathcore albums that, in my opinion, are on that level. I loved Quietus and The Jewels of Irn ep.
Love your channel sir,,, greeting from indonesia🇮🇩🇮🇩
Love these man! You should do a video about shrine of malice!
What once was dead now breathes againnnnnnn, eyes open to thee world around.
Seen them on Long Island NY over 10 years ago with Ion Dissonance and Within the Ruins. Best believe I was flailing my arms and doing spin kicks.
Dude yes!
I was supposed to see them in Milwaukee in 2011 or 12 but they had dropped out of the tour and I was really sad.
For some reason I thought the mix for Domain was absolutely horrible, it had no base and the sound felt muddled. Really think that album needs to be redone soon
That explains why david from king 810 had a feature on proprioception i always wondered how that came to pass but now it makes sense
I went to see them on that Suffokate tour, it would have been my first time seeing them and I was so excited. Imo Proprioception is THE best deathcore written by any band. That album is perfect to me
I’m happy the name is stilll here !
Need a whisteria cottage video next, keep on the statik factory saga. It was always such a mysterious label lol
and thus And Hell Followed With is forever engraved into the deathcore hall of fame. lol. that album was ON REPEAT when it came out. reminded me of a better version of with blood comes cleansing, no shade, since i also liked that band. to me proprioception is the sound of myspace deathcore perfected. with that being said, another good video bro. is the yellow sign the first downtempo deathcore band? because ive always had that impression. i'd also like to see you cover knights of the abyss. their album "the culling of wolves" is another example of perfected deathcore, and it only came out a month after proprioception.
In that very first picture of the band that you show... is the dude on the left wearing a "secret band" shirt?
People ask what i listen to. I show them a welcomed displeasure.
Loving these vids! Keep doing em!
i remember THESE GUYS! hell yeah! also, dope AAF shirt, dude. that band is so underrated. 👊😎
(edit: just noticed the tattoo of some shears above your left eyebrow! you a barber, too? i've been cutting hair for 15 years! that's also dope! best job ever. 😎
I got to hang out with these guys at a show before their set🎉
Am I losing my mind but did they have an album cover with Megan Fox with Devil horns?? I can't find it anywhere now??
Bro domain and proprioception are still in my daily listens

The band was never the same after Nick. He is what set them apart imo. His new band Wounded Touch is insane tho…it would be cool if you could try to highlight some of these artists current projects in these videos. Just some constructive criticism.
You should do the band in fear and faith.

I was literally thinking the other day "it would be awesome if Yan covered these guys" haha. Another great video man!
Underneath The Gun please! Lol
Another day, another Yan banger vid 🫡🤘
Was really hoping you'd do a episode on these guys. So stoked
🔥🔥🔥
You’re the goat!!!
Broo I remember this band. Thank you for reminding me about them and sick they are.
On man, that first band! Holy!
Ah yes I forgot about these guy's, I haven't listened to them in year's. Remember seeing them back in 2010 on my 20th birthday, they're were obviously great. I miss this sound, no offense but deathcore nowadays sounds way too overproduced.
Do some relevant bands again!
"Those were the days man" yeah they were. Miss it
wonderful band. even now very good songs and just a beautiful logo
Love the Alien Ant Farm shirt 🔥
Oh shit
Im almost positive billy came in when domain was coming out and he couldnt play the songs so they had to program drums
the Yellow Sign > AHFW
Wrong
If yall didnt know, probably the last song nick ever did was a feature for a band called upon hallowed ground, i strongly urge you check that out as well as nicks black metal side project TRAITOR
The song is called before thy blade
I don’t like the new stuff of and followed with … like the quietus I feel like didn’t hit tbh it’s boring
The new shit they made is way too over the top.
