I literally came here to figure out the best ways to get enough food. I've been coming up just barely short of it!! I could've skipped to the end but I still watched it all! Not sure if you're interested but there are a couple things that you could give an update on. Things that you said here you had trouble with that are easier now. Thank you tho
Nice vid. If you cook the meat, then store it in the garage it won't go off. I had the same issue with that stupid hatchet! Also I was down to hours of not having enough food, literally so close...so I just cooked a bunch of cups of coffee (it counts for food) and just barely survived this challenge. Next time I am going to kill a bear! Thanks for the info!
Wow animation and things in the game were so much better then that now! There is a backpack behind the inventory, you see the actual animation of taking the lantern and so on.. something is better now, but why they removed them?! I am here to check suggestions on this challenge because actually the map at the water factory does not allow to come back once you exit the door! So the game becomes actually impossible to play the way I wanted! I wish I actually could go back the way I came from instead to be forced to make a loop tour. I was also considering how could be important to make a satchel by a moose. For me the big problem is bringing stuff back to the house. I simply can't. I generally started doing the near by area: then I failed some times, so I just started going "FAR" in far zones and come back later: the problem is that I reached these areas without a bar to open the Iron robes! This is a big advise I tell: search for a bar prank before leaving for any area... The big problem for me: it's actually the fact that I have to go around to plaesant valley to go back to coastal - I can't go through the Water management Factory.. It's crazy. It's one way! I wish you could be more precise for somethings. I know many things have changed.. but the Fish suggestion is SO GOOD advise. Really cool sharer, I enjoyed your effort. Take care.

no that's just insulting I put a lot of effort into this video I made a diary from my duration doing this challenge and worked really hard to make the best video possible. so believe what you want I know I did my best!

Than good for you. Have a medal. But you don't have to accuse him of using info from the wiki. And if he did thats also good because he is giving correct information.
@@Wolverine60fps so I tried again today and followed your tips, I was making really good time, I had everything and jjust needed to find the rifle and then a damn bear killed me the second I left the gas station 😆.

You can extend your raw meat life by not cooking it until it is around 25%-30%. The cooked meat will then have a fresh life
is there some guaranteen spot for hatchet or hammer so you can make one?
you can make a hatchet a handmade one from the coal fire maker on that boat near the light house look it up on the long dark wiki
heres a tip go fishing and cook em you should get a small bit of lantern fuel i used this trick to make 3L of latern fuel

I killed a bear a got 40 KG of meat from it, that's 36000 Calories worth of food! I killed 2 more wolves and I'm done.

i think i have bugged whiteout becoue i havent found hatchet nowhere not at the light house location or where ever you can go this challenge
it was hard for me to find also i found mine in the middle of nowhere i think its a random spawn
Someone suggested looking in the fishnets and it was there. It took me forever to find. Hoping to find the rifle soon...
And I found out there's a blue car not to far from the coal mine with a hunting knife
tested to it was there every time i went sooo its perminate from my testing
