Sewing a pair of shorts or pants is easy! I made my first pair when I was 10 years old, and I've never stopped---now there are summer shorts for my kids, pajama shorts for bedtime, running shorts....there are so many options! Today we're going to start with the basics. I'll show you how to make a simple pair of shorts with an elastic waistband. And they're gonna look awesome. Come sew with me!

Your video is the easiest of all to understand. I have made hundreds or shorts. But that was years ago, so I needed a refresher. I do use a much larger safety pin for elastic, makes it easier to feel. Thank you for your help.
Thank you! My son is big for a 1yr old and finding him clothes is hard. I made him some shorts. It was way easier than I thought it would be. I modified your 5yr old pattern for his shorts, and I made the racer style with a full elastic band.
love the way you even say what stitch size and show us you sewing it. Other tutorials often just show after they sewed and we cant see the direction they sew in etc. great video. Thank you for sharing!

@@learntime1202 Maybe different types of fabric work great for these. But I like cotton, quilting cotton, linen, lightweight denim, lightweight canvas. Lots of options!

Do you you use stretch fabric for the shorts as I made them.in non stretch and they didn't fit

I love her tutorials, you explain it so easily! Every time I make shorts my kids use to complain to me how it feels inside like it’s riding up! I just couldn’t figure out why this was cause I made sure that it’s all the right pieces!

I've made my son racer shorts using your tutorial when he was 2 years old. He still wears them and loves them (he is almost 5). What can I say he is growing upwards, mostly:-) I would love to see a tutorial for the shorts with pockets and piping!

I have used your utube channel at least 5 x to help me with my sewing projects. The part I like the most is that you always remind your viewer to do a forward and backward stitch when you begin. Bc, I tend to forget, but I think of your show and I do it. Plus how much seam allowance you tell us to use for different stitching. Thank you.
