      Yeah, and I could see how some people would not like survival. I’m part of the group that didn’t have survival, or even pistons, when I started playing. Survival is so much fun for making functional vehicles that you can’t appreciate in creative. I think it’s just different for people who go straight into games expecting there to be more than just your own creativity.

    its a really feature rich game, even in its game modes. devs mentioned that after the heavy update thats incoming, they ll have another update to survival for water adventures etc, and the incoming update will all ready bring new enemies, new biomes, etc

    Ok, I have been playing scrap mechanic since 2016, a few months after it came out. I have a lot of hours on it, survival and creative. And I honestly disagree with you in almost all of the cons.
    First of all survival, while it seems light on lore, it has some community created lore behind it which is pretty dam cool, I suggest you check it out. And you need to play more than 24 hours to judge survival as it is a long game and can take more than expected. Which is good.
    Also, if you check the Scrap Mechanic dev logs, you will clearly see the work put into new updates making the game a lot better. If you have just 10 hours these dev blogs will make you twiddle your fingers in excitement for when they come out.
    I prefer mods as they let you do a lot more in the game, you can make math algorithms, guided missiles, turrets or higher detailed blocks. Mods can make you do so much more than vanilla.
    Scrap mechanic can last you a lot longer than 500 hours. If you aren’t creative, then this game might not be for you. It’s about innovation and improvement. I highly suggest this game as the devs work on it 24/7 and when they make a dev blog, they make sure everybody damn right loves it!
    Also poor optimisation is being worked on. And the possible reason you are having issues with connection, load times and lag spikes is possibly because the host’a settings are to high. This fixes it 90% of the time. Just lower graphics a bit and keep render at max. Scrap mechanic is a beautiful game low settings or max.

    Just gonna point out: that donkey kong (well, it's technically called Konkey Dong) arcade game uses no mods, it's completely vanilla! They just used tons of logic gates, which are a vanilla part (and I think they may have used glitchwelding for the screen, I can't tell. But that doesn't use mods either, just some file editing or in game glitches. The point is that you can download the creation from the workshop and use it without any mods)

    This game is awesome.
    Me and my friends have had it for almost a year now and we have managed to creat some pretty awesome stuff(ig: fighter jets with full auto stabilization, VTOL capabilities, and multiple variants of rockets(no mods).
    Don’t let the games simple appearance fool you.
    I would recommend playing the game un-modded since in my opinion it’s far more fun and rewarding to for example: try and come up with a design for a rocket that will turn towards anything it can sense in front of it, than it is to install a mod that just gives you guided rockets on the spot.
    If you just want to be handed new tech than go play some other game.
    Scrap mechanic is about the design process.
    Some things to note however:
    1- scrap mechanic is really only fun if you have a couple of friends who will play it with you
    2- if you have a bad computer or bad internet than you are going to struggle with a lot of larger creations.
    3- the survival gamemode is really fun but only if you play it right and bring a friend or two. However, there are multiple updates planned for survival mode that will make if feel far more complete.
    All and all, I really wish scrap mechanic had more players, It’s an amazing game and deserves it.

    my answer: i recommend to buy it
    why? you can literally almost make any type of car, truck, or any sort of system that includes complex logic gates. you can do so much in this game, from building randomly to building MINI GAMES. personally this is the best building game ever made, but the optimization is very bad. if someone puts down 2 tanks, the game gets so laggy, and also, players can glitch through walls at high speeds, that kind of sucks. there's multiplayer too, which makes it even more better. the developers are also pretty slow on updating the game. they mention something, and add it a year later. this is going on with the turret seat. they posted the turret seat on march 11th, since then, no clues whatsoever were given to the community about when its coming out. So, in a few sentences: optimization sucks, gameplay is good. so i give scrap mechanic a 8/10, and recommend people to buy it!

  • @Cheios-Demiose
    @Cheios-Demiose Рік тому

    scrap mechanics creative is so fun and enjoyable because of how easy it feels. while other games can have you looking at the creation with ahh... _where did i go so wrong_ feel, this game is just, easier feeling.
    the survival was really grindy for a long time. and still is a game where you focus on getting resources for everything. but i can say the grind is actually fun now.
    the challenge mode is really fun. the challenge builder is really nice.
    btw i want people to remember the game is getting updates and getting more content added in. so even if you have a problem with something now, there is no reason to believe that problem will still exist by next patch.

    If only the devs were far more prolific, they put out may be one extremely minor bug fix update a year, and sometimes it's just a text dev update. Feels like it'll never get there.
    And also, the lag issue you mention, makes survival mode absolutely unplayable in multiplayer, after about 10 hours at 5 players, the lag input from all the stuff we built came upwards of 20 seconds, we gave up, such a shame, it's a really cool game, especially survival mode

    The survival mode is pretty new so it's just logic that it's not finished. The devs continuously make the game less laggy and wants to make the game the best possible. A lot of players have more than a hundred hours on the game (personnaly around 450, and yet doesn't know everything) and I think playing 24h isn't sufficient to experience this game, yet it gives the basics of what you can do in it

    I'm someone who has had scrap mechanic since 2016 and has more then 400 hours on it. Scrap mechanic has a realistic physics system(just see what scrap man has done). One the topic of the poor optimizations: It was worse and is getting better, it takes time both in waiting for new updates and playing the game(you teach yourself how to optimize your creations). Scrap mechanics community is very inviting and open but small AKA people will gladly teach you how to play and join you in the game for some fun together. The best way to define and categorize Scrap mechanic is a more detailed Minecraft. It's worth the money!

    Good game terrible devs. Still in development after 6 years is kind of unacceptable. The updates are very few and far between. Axolot seems to have time to update The Raft though.....

    • @takimicha7291
      @takimicha7291 2 роки тому +3

      I hope you realise that Axolot are the PUBLISHERS of Raft, not its CREATORS. Redbeet interactive are the actual developers, completely unrelated to Axolot games or Scrap Mechanic. Besides that, keep in mind that Axolot in themselves are a small studio, not a Triple-A game development company. With the whole pandemic and developers having to work from home, it was very difficult to make any progress on updates. My point here is, you shouldn't blame them for being so slow, they have reason for it.

      I don’t care if it takes 6 years, 12 years or 50 years, as long as it’s worth it it’s acceptable

    • @GameSpace3
      @GameSpace3 2 роки тому

      Ok. Games aren’t made in three minutes. Scrap mechanic has a physics based engine. They have just recently added terrain generation and a whole new game mode which usually takes years to develop. It is good that it is still in development as it means they are spending time on it to make it beautiful and not a buggy mess. Next time be a bit more understanding, as programming a game is very hard.
