I agree. It sounds great. Some other folks have mentioned that it has a single driver though. I knew the Flip 4 had two drivers, but I didn't realize the Flip 5 only had one. It still sounds great!
The absence of speakerphone is a deal breaker. For me, the extra bass and louder sound are not enough to make up for the lack of a speakerphone. Why can't JBL let people enjoy both worlds?
I've been mainly using my Flip 5 as a sound bar for my TV. It sounds way better than the TV's built in speakers. I also use it in the shower sometimes and I accidentally knocked it off the top of the shower doors, fell like 7 feet onto a hard tile floor. I expected to see it shattered into pieces but it didn't even leave a blemish where it hit. This things build quality is excellent.
Pressing "bluetooth" and "volume down" simultaneously for 10 secs activates "bass boost." You've succeeded when an illuminated ring appears around the power and bluetooth buttons. Repeating above cancels bass boost👍.
As far as sound goes, the 5 def seems to be slightly better, but in terms of value, I would stick to the flip 4, especially if you already own other JBL speakers. I bought mine for 74 bucks, so 26 bucks cheaper than i paid for the flip 5, but now have come find out that I couldnt even connect both like im able to do with my jbl pulse 3 and flip 4. what a let down by JBL
Itz ok flip 5 haven't a mic or google assistant...I hav no objection with that... i want Jbl should improve more the bass quality so that it can give a bass like a woofer ( a lil bit greater size of flip 5 is ok) bt at almost same price range which is $100 or INR 8K
I have always liked JBL, but recently I bought a DINDIN Bluetooth speaker, and I feel that its sound quality and loudness are quite good, and the price is particularly moderate.
Si può connettere insieme alla 4 con party boost in modo di farle suonare insieme It can be connected together with the 4 with party boost in order to make them play together
Could anyone answer my question. My question is how long would the speaker last on 25, 50 and 75% volume? The answer would really be helpful in deciding the right speaker for me.
I would get the Charge 4 now, if you really need a speaker. If the updates from the Flip 4 to the Flip 5 are any indication, they may actually be removing some features with the Charge 5.
You should inform people that there are 3 sub-models. The GG, TL and CS... All of which are made with different materials and each sub-model have very different sound quality, mainly due to some having paper drivers and some having plastic drivers! So in all reality this is a terrible comparison review! You don't even mention these sub-models... Makes me think people are making reviews on products that they have not even done proper research on!
i am studying online,,, i connect my JBL to listen to the lectures,,, but how to speak and interact in the class? i tried to speak while using the speaker,,, but the instructor didn't know hear me.. i needed to disconnect the JBL speaker to enable my instructor to hear me... can someone advise me how to let the instructor hear me speaking while at the same time connecting my JBL??
Let me know what you think about the Flip 5! Are you frustrated with JBL getting rid of support for PartyBoost and taking away the speakerphone?
I like Flip 5 more, because it has balanced sound
I agree. It sounds great. Some other folks have mentioned that it has a single driver though. I knew the Flip 4 had two drivers, but I didn't realize the Flip 5 only had one. It still sounds great!
I dont need speakerphone and 3.5mm jack but i have 1 question are flip 5 have better sound and basses than flip 4
Sorry for my englis
I love the flip 5, great sound in my campervan x

I just got this as a birthday gift a few days ago and I love it. It is perfect for all I need it for!
Very cool. Congrats. Enjoy the speaker. Happy belated birthday!

I couldn't find the 4. So I bought the 5. So far, pretty happy with it. I have used Bose for years, but wanted a less expensive alternative.
Cool. I really like the Flip 5. It's a great little speaker.
@@MaxDalton I agree. It sounds great.
Good for you! It's too bad you couldnt find a 4 to buy. it seems to be better value
Bose is $99.. $20 cheaper

Would it be good for outdoors?
Thank you! I will keep my Flip 4
Not a bad decision. Glad the video helped!
@@MaxDalton it did
Thank you for making this video, because I was thinking to buy the flip 4, but when I see this video, I’ll get the flip 5 Thanks

I’ll be getting one for Christmas
Awesome. Enjoy!
Did u get it?
I have always liked JBL, but recently I bought a DINDIN Bluetooth speaker, and I feel that its sound quality and loudness are quite good, and the price is particularly moderate.
Hello, can you skip music tracks forward or backwards from the JBL flip?
Yes, you can. Skipping forward by pressing play/pause button twice and backwards by pressing it three times.
i have it , great speaker
Awesome. Glad you like it!
hey im trying to buy one aswell , is it any loud for a big room for exmp , thanks in advance
So the flip 5 is not able to connect to other JBL bluetooth speakers?
Si può connettere insieme alla 4 con party boost in modo di farle suonare insieme
It can be connected together with the 4 with party boost in order to make them play together
Is good for Heavy Metal?????
I'm not a big metal person, but I think it would be OK. You may want to find someone who's more of a metal head, though.
@@MaxDalton Thank you my friend for the quick response!!!
Can it skip songs?
Wow, nice review 👍
Awesome. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
Could anyone answer my question. My question is how long would the speaker last on 25, 50 and 75% volume? The answer would really be helpful in deciding the right speaker for me.
Pretty sure the rated time of 12hrs is at 50%... so @25% should double that and at 75% should be 8hrs
jbl flip 5 or wonderboom 2? which sounds better and has better bass? thanks!
Flip 5
Flip 5
Great review 😎🙌🎼🎼🎼🎹
Much appreciated.
I clicked volume + and bluetooth button and it blocked, what shoul I do?
Does it still power on?
Can you use fast charge on this speaker or is that damaging?
Good question. I don’t think it will hurt, but I don’t think it will fast charge.
Should I wait for charge 5 or get a charge 4 now
I would get the Charge 4 now, if you really need a speaker. If the updates from the Flip 4 to the Flip 5 are any indication, they may actually be removing some features with the Charge 5.
@@MaxDalton I think I'm getting the charge 4 but about the flip 4 to flip 5, that's actually similar the charge 3 to 4 with mono speaker and no mic
Does the jbl charge 4 have more bass?
If it does, it’s not much. The Charge 4 will get louder, but I don’t think I would say it has more bass at at equal volume level.
Why does mine sound like it comeing from mostly from one side, it's the left side but it's still good, is it supposed to do that
Yes. The driver is offset to the left.
So there's no mic feature if i wanna use it for conference calls?
Not on the Flip 5. There is on the Flip 4, though. It's frustrating, I know, lol.
Does this work with google assistant?
You’ll hear the audio, but you can’t press a button to summon Google Assistant, and there’s no mic on the speaker to interact with it.
Max Dalton that’s fricking stupid..
No it doesn't.
O Flip 5 não da para fazer chamadas telefonicas???
Pls 2x Flip 5 stereo and party test ...
Sorry. I only have one PartyBoost speaker at present. Probably won't be able to do that until I get the next Charge.
I have it it sounds so good even my mom noticed the sound difference compared to ue boom
Release data uk?
I'm honestly not sure. I would think early August.
so i just bought one....and it sounds like sound is only coming out of one side? anyone else have that issue?
Its mono not stereo hence the louder output
Single driver not two
I had mine for about 2 months now it wont connect , it'll make a nice paperweight
Send it to me or return to store.
Just got JBLFlip 5. Frustrated because it doesn't pair with my iphone 6.
Weird. Maybe if you have another device paired, try upairing that device and try again with the Flip 5. I would think it would work.
Kalpster I have an iPhone 6 and i have no issues with pairing.

Just got one love the sound but my battery dies quick on a full charge maybe 4 hours is that normal
That's not my experience, but I generally have mine at a lower volume. If you have the volume up high, then I could see that being more realistic.
Before you buy JBL you need to look up their consumer complaints. very bad

Its just for listening music my friend not for two way communication
You need to use JBL Flip 4 instead.
So the flip 5 can use google assistant
