These politicians double down on covering up what they have done by attempting to change words. “Gifts” can never be the same as “bribes”. “I declared correctly, according to the (my) rules” is no substitute for “you are being arrested for corruption in public office”. If it did then we could all make up our own rules to escape legal responsibility. When Streeting uses weird and moronic value comparisons, trying to justify the unjustifiable, you know they haven’t a clue what to do next and are close to shut down.
