I was a mature student nurse last year but when I said I was struggling with child care availability and cost the university turned round to me and told me to either suck it up or quit as it was cheaper for them and the nhs to get foreigners in to do the job even if they weren't up to the standard the nhs has as a minimum for British nationals they can get grants for importing people. Unfortunately, I had to quit as there is no one available to look after my children on early morning, evening and night shifts. It was always my dream to be a nurse and my children's father never supported me he just wanted me to work at mcdonalds so I would always be available to provide childcare for the children in the day and work after I put them to bed at night and the added benefit of discount Mcdonalds. It makes me sick to see so many foreign people working in jobs that I know from experience british people would love to work in however cannot afford to go to university or don't have the support or other means to study for these jobs
