It’s fascinating how many fantastic builds have ended not due to their own weaknesses but because of something entirely out of their control. Neanderthal got outcompeted, megalodon was unsustainably large, but the dinosaurs just got blasted out of nowhere
There were only 1 of 5 other species that were suddenly erased
What's gonna happen to humans I wonder
@TAKEDOWN I thought it was because homo-sapiens had to get more creative. Neanderthals were physically stronger than homo-sapiens, so it was only natural they would rely on such strength to hunt, but since homo-sapiens were so much weaker they were forced to use their brains. They found that the only way they hunt efficeintly at that time was if they made and used javelins to kill their meat. This meant that the homo-sapiens had found a much safer way to fight battles than the Neanderthals and thus gained the ultimate advantage over them.

@Elias Westlund bedrock pe players in servers: *sweating intensifies*
Sad thing is, we will never truly know how the dinosaurs' playstyle and moveset was like. Sure, we can make educated guesses from the testimonies of former dinosaur players and data miners, but since twitch, youtube and other similar platforms weren't around back then, the actual gameplay was lost to time, really hope the devs at least make models and gameplay information public, since it's becoming more unlikely that a dinosaur remaster will come.
Let's hope it's not
Azhdarchids were actually likely not scavengers, as their beaks were much better suited to catching and swallowing small prey than for digging into large carcasses. Not that they couldn't scavenge, but newer theories say they more likely hunted, and only scavenged secondarily, like a stork.
Yeah Azhdarchids were hunting small animals and spending most of their time on the ground, only really flying when in danger or when traveling to far off areas.
Did the Azhdarchids also deliver dinosaur babies to other dinosaurs like storks?

@@wojciechmuras553 we disagree just cause we op don’t mean you gotta leave us out of the game
Humans class players have not unlocked the inherent flight ability. They have tools which assist in flight from region server to region server. It is different from the bird and insect factions. "In life, he was the most magnificent beast ever to take to the wing. He ruled the skies supreme, flying far and wide over the lands of the dinosaurs. This is the story of the last great journey this giant will ever make."
Fun fact: scientists speculate that the way bats jump into the air, is similar to the way some of the giant pterosaurs manage to get off the ground, and because they didnt had to invest evolution points leveling up their legs, they only needed to level up their arm strength which means they were still light enough to fly, allowing them to affort gigantism
Also they had feathers coatings on their bodies.
Isn't the best example of that today the vampire bat? They are the best at vaulting off the ground.
Birds' retention of the Bipedalism feat has paid off dividends for the improved ground mobility, even allowing ground-only variant builds. That said I agree completely that using the same equip slot for Powered Flight and Powered Launch is a real advantage for optimizing your mass/energy ratio.
Maybe if there's another big patch update bats might be able to take advantage and challenge the all-time records for flight builds.

Slight error, the big ass pterosaurs didn’t need to glide off large cliffs. It’s actually a lot cooler than that. They would literally jump by launching with all fours straight down then just straight up take off. Basically they took flight like bats but they were the size of giraffes so... tldr they were even cooler than stated in the video
yeah, too bad they nerfed them.
It was a HUGE nerf turning them into small variants of themselves being kept as pets.
Also, didn't pterosaurs also have feathers? Sure they didn't have flight feathers, and relied on membranes to fly more like bats, but they still would have had the body feathers to allow for cushioning and whatnot, no?
@@jaschabull2365 It may have been protofeathers. Essentially it was hair/fur, we just do not call it hair/fur because it evolved independently and any time this happens we give it a new name, we call it Pycnofibers for pterosaurs. I would love to see a Mesozoic Ocean tier list. I caught a glimpse of it in the Mosasaur video, but I would love to see it laid out and explained. Mosasaur is the obvious S tier, but I love to hear the reasoning for placement of other builds.
I feel like that might be too broad and hard to measure. Kind of like how the dinosaur Tier list was way, way, too broad a topic and as a result it’s probably his least accurate video yet. Maybe do a Cretaceous Ocean Tier list or a Jurassic Ocean tier list. That way the number of builds can be narrowed down just a tad.
Any general tutorials for human build? I can't seem to figure anything out.
Try learning the cooking skill, it is very useful for food.
money management is also a good skill to have in the current meta
Dude the "get a job" main quest should be number 1 on your priority list after you finished the "college" main quest
yea human builds are hailed as OP but many players tend to forget that it also has a high skill floor to be successful since it's more complicated than any other build
I think that the basis for the human build need to be viewed at in a zoologic, biologic and anthropologic point of view:
- For one part, you're an individual animal, and you need to survive. You need shelter, food, water and you need to be outside physical (or psychological, since humans have this trait significantly developed, like it or not) danger. To attend these in modern society, you most often than not, need a job, or some way to produce money, since it's the actual currency of human society in general. Regarding psychological hazards and necessities, they will be developed further.
- The human animal has developed a high cognitive state (as claimed by them), and this produces an unique individual, besides common necessities. This uniquenes can traduce in uniqueness of likes and dislikes, choices, aspirations, communication preferences, ideas, visions, etc... To develop the complete and uttermost of your build, you have to get to know yourself, and train both the cognitive and physical skills available to you, in whatever way you like, to whatever extent you desire (memory, sciences, arts, everything in between, and also your body, your physical capabilities, not only STR training, but RANGE, AGI, STAMINA, CHA, tendons, bones, and... you get the idea, whatever you can train, whatever you can improve). I would highly recommend to get the most out of the survibability tree first (optimal hydration, optimal nutrition, and optimal sleep) before moving onto others, but it's understandable that they are long processes, and the work needs to be interleaved and slow between these three tress, rather than fast and uneven. Meditation is another great skill that helps clear the mind to keep your INT and DEX stat as maxed as possibly, to say the least.
- And finally, you have yourself amongs society: a human-made concept that sets rules and standards for other humans to follow. Whatever you do, you attend this last: If you start pleasing this tree first, you'll probably develop ailments under the Stress tree, such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, eating disorders, sleeping disorders, and other psycho, emotional and physical issues. Here you link whatever you found in your 2 previous trees with how the world around you works: this world can be a City biome, or Small Town, or Rural, or... well, there are too many. But usually, the more you know about yourself, the more you can naturally push your limits to meet the necessities of others around you -be it friends, family, job positions, or others - without feeling you're losing yourself (because you already explored the other 2 trees).
Just remember that you're probably going to have to work on these three at the same time: Because humans are multidimensional individuals this way. It's rare the scenario where you can just focus on just one aspect, and usually if that's the case, other aspects are going to be out of control, if not attended soon. But that's my opininon.
I hope this was helpful.

Fighter jet pilots: *Hold my beer*
Fighter jets can be instantly crippled by bird collisions, so...
They even have a name for it. BASH. Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard.
To be fair, the fighter jet build is highly situational. It requires enormous upkeep that all but the largest guilds just can't keep up with, and even the support for this build is a highly complicated build in and of itself. Overall, it pretty much only has use in guild wars against other human factions.
@@dryued6874 Well, there is one other situation where the build sees use. _Jet Piloting (Master)_ is a prerequisite for starting the _NASA Astronaut (Pilot)_ questline, and the _T-38 Talon_ mount, which is treated as a weaponless fighter jet by the game engine, sees heavy use for the first portion of the quest.

This is now my favourite channel on youtube. Amazing!
I think might be a few problems/inaccuracies in this video. First, im pretty sure that the idea of small pterosaurs acting like oxpeckers for larger dinosaurs was made up by the Walking with dinosaurs series and doesn't have much evidence, as mentioned in an episode by Ben G. Thoma. m.ua-cam.com/video/AaPZ3FR9Rqw/v-deo.html
Second, you show some ofthe larger pterosaurs, including what I think are Azdarchids like Quetzalcoatlus as scavengers, a theory that was popular when Quetzalcoatlus was discovered, but was latter discredited. I dont know about some of the other large pterosaurs but as I understand it the most common theory for Azdarchid feeding is that they were ground predators eating small animals, sort of like a giant stork, also mentioned by Ben G Thomas in this video. m.ua-cam.com/video/r4WAt68j6n0/v-deo.html.

I feel like having huge, thin membranes for wings is fundamentally flawed because you would always be vulnerable, flying or not
That's why the only build that uses this now are bats. Plus their membranes are smaller since bats are smaller.
It's cheaper than feather maintenance, though.
Later pterosaurs upgraded their membranes with actinofibrils to boost defense and air sacs to boost mobility.

Honestly, the only Pterosaur that I'd consider to be "OP" is Quetzalcoatlus.
What about Hatzegopteryx and Arambourgina?
There comes a point where size is a detriment imo.
Being so large as Quatz means you cant easily take off the ground if a dangerous opponent is near, you also cant seek shelter in trees.
As large as Qautz was, it still were no match for some of the land predators at the time.

I'd say Pterosaurs would have a higher Int stat similar to birds. Coordinating flight for a vertebrate requieres a powerful brain.
That is an interesting idea. We could probably get an idea by observing the brain case size and shape,
Why can't you hear pterosauruses go to the bathroom?
Because they are dead.

Tier zoo would you do a monotreme video? I think that they are a very interesting set of the mammal classes, and I’d love to see a video on them. This is just a suggestion, but I would be very excited to see. Great video as always!

Gosh, I remember when I used to watch Walking With Dinosaurs on UA-cam :,)
Now I shall go watch them in that page you mentioned
I just found this channel and this is literally the type of stuff I say with my friends I love it
I honestly quit playing after they removed this build (until humans got released). always my favorite.
Yeah, the devs messed up with the update so they made the human class so viable
Terrabird/Racoon main.
Was a Terrabird main until they became unviable in the meta.

Heyo, you should make an ability tier list.
talking about what abilities are worth more to pick up in general
and what abilities are great to focus a build around :D
"flight has only been unlocked by "4" factions in the history of outside."
Wrights brothers with their flying thing: Are we a joke to you?
we are a part of the mammal faction
We're mammals, as are bats, so it'd still be 4 if he counted machines as well as evolution.
If we are counting airplanes it's actually 5, since bats and humans acquired propelled flight independently from each other
One could argue that Machines are starting to become their own faction, but aren't truly there yet.
@@TheWatcher802 it's still 4 if we are counting animal classes
If we are counting species then the number is way higher
Can't believe they were making Government Drones this far in the past.

yea my sister was one of the first pterodactyl mains but she never really left the small support role build and after the dinosaurs took over she switched over to birds and shes maining the falcon class as of now
Why can't you hear a Pterodactyl go to the bathroom?
Because they're dead.
Unexpected but funny
nice
True
Also because Pterodactyl isn't the name of any actual pterosaur
They had us in the first half not gonna lie
when tier zoo publishes who he mains theirs gonna be a huge spike of players who use that faction, could change the meta
This video fills me with nostalgia, does everyone remember the good times?

Just found this gem of a channel, it's great.
TierZoo honestly has some of the most original content on youtube.
In the early days of the UA-cam meta there was lots of creative content. As it's evolved, the dominant builds of today are vloggers and video game streamers, for better or worse.
@Mullerornis Most bats live in caves, but tree-dwelling bats aren't using agility to navigate the forest at high speeds anyway. What's your point? You aren't disproving the fact that membranes are more vulnerable to branches.
also- what exactly does your reply have to do with the comment?
Mullerornis The link is timed out?
Also when did he claim that birds outcompeted pterosaurs?
Not really.

Oh and @5:13 - I see what you did there. Consider me subscribed. :D
A dev needs to make a game where at the start of the game you are just cells, then he updates and updates changing the world and adding new animals, it depends what time people buy it for where which timeline they would be in. And there's sandbox mode: where you can go onto any update to see it
It should be online based

This is the ONLY Tierzoo video that hasn't popped up in my recommended section (when I'm not logged in to my youtube account). And, for some reason, it has less than half the views of all his other videos.
Which is a real shame since pterosaurs are my absolute favourites!
Re: puncturing a wing.
My understanding from Mark Witton's statements is that wing punctures were probably the kind of thing that wouldn't ground pterosaur for long. Healing extremely fast as fibrils and membranes regrew. I slightly question whether bird feathers are really less vulnerable, as a mildly cut membrane likely wouldn't ground a pterosaur flight feathers can always be plucked or buckled. Or indeed, simply ruffled.
I would also add, birds biomechanically have their foot and foot claw readily availiable for attack while they fly, unlike pterosaurs [or bats].
Bats have been around for 60 million years and not once have we seen an apex predator that could compete with birds of prey. Birds have a break but they can also use powerful talons.
I would imagine pterosaurs saw the same disadvantage in small size, so getting bigger than any bird ever could during flight was their solution.
Birds have a size constraint in flight due to feathers, there are studies on this.
Bats don't grow to pterosaur size because of several more limitation including their mammalian respiratory system [which is primitive when compared to archosaur], solid bones [unlike hollow bones] etc
@@trvth1s Definitely agree on feet being independent helping birds. Re: bats. My impression is that their bones are still quite derived in a different way. They are unusually flexible.
The claw positioning thing probably explains the lack of known hawker pterosaurs. There were definitely insectivores but no dedicated aerial hunters of large prey that I know of.
@@trvth1s I think there are some fish hunting bats that might be competitive with a seagull or something at doing that. Of course, they've done the whole nocturnal specialization thing which really limits their options to become meta-defining.
@Macdonalds Mascot but I suspect a puncture (not a cut) would not disable a pterosaur wing as long as it's not all the way to the trailing edge. And their wings are still far from a simple sheet of skin the way bat wings are. They've got some rigidity and directionality to them due to internal structural actinofibrils. They're not as strong as bird feathers but a puncture likely would not simply cause the wing to enter a state of flutter, although it's doubtful a cut all the way down the patagium would still allow useful lift.
@@petersmythe6462 yes i know there's even some bats that hunt rodents but i have never heard of a large bat that could take down prey like bird of prey. There are videos of eagles working together to take out wolfs, i am certain no bat ever did this. In the past there were eagles that made a living off hunting us humans! We have fossil evidence of this. There have been eagles nests found littered with human bones.
Where bats set themselves apart is where many mammals set themselves apart: earlobes. Earlobes are diches which help many mammals better track sounds, though owls have been ableto replicate this with facial feathers, and like foxes, can track prey under the snow.
But some mammals have taken this to the next level with sonar, including bats and some aquatic mammals. Bats are essentially like early pterosaurs which can hunt at night. Batrachognathus was an early pterosaur which filled the same niche as birds now have for daytime insectivores, but they were built like bats. Teeth and all. Unfortunately they had no sonar, so in the end of the jurrassic extinction birds filled their niche.
With that said pterosaurs had airsacs and hollow bones so they were unquestionably better flyers than any bat ever.
Bat bones have marrow, to stay light they were very thin and structurally weak.
With sonar they created a new niche but i suspect bats will never get to pterosaur size.
1:14 dude really be growing like he got a mega mushroom
