I started taking ashwaghanda daily after learning about it from Dr. Berg 13 days ago. I did not feel a difference in pain relief until maybe last 2 days, but my Garmin watch detected my overnight stress levels were greatly improved the immediately (Measured by analyzing heart rate variability). To test that it was an ashwaghanda effect I skipped taking a daily dose (1/3 morning, 2/3 at bedtime) and my sleeping stress levels were elevated again that night. This short period of using ashwaghanda seems to show a positive effect as a stress adaptogen so far.
Dr Berg like many on social media giving medical/health advice is not an MD or scientist or researcher. He’s been corrected a few times by credible channels incl Physionic who is a molecular researcher.
@@jmc8076 actually he is a scientist and he is a researcher and you don’t have to be an MD to be that, he does know nutrition and he does know metabolic health and physiology. funny this comes up as I sit drinking a mug of herbal tea with one huge spoonful organic ashwaganda powder added to help sleep....works for me. Love it!
Dr Been, This was a brilliant lesson in understanding this process. I'm a clinical herbalist. Thank you for touching the subject of this wonderful plant.
Dr. Been, I always love you illustrative drawings as they help to so clearly see the process rather than just hear it with no previous knowledge of these things to fall back on. Please continue to give us more info on the Ashwagandha. Example is it habit forming, does it adversely effect any organs in the body. Thanks for being on youtube for us!!!!
I love the way Dr Mobeen explains the pathways of different beneficial vitamins and medication!❤ What a shame that pharmaceutical companies don’t offer a similar explanation? Probably because their claims do not always hold up, no surprise there!! 🤔🤔🤔
Thank you Dr Been from France, I understood better few mechanisms in physiology that this great root can induce in our bodies! I Used it for years to have a better sleep! Very good plant
Hello Dr Been, Firstly thank you so much for all your excellent information over the last two years. Secondly could you do a video on Mukta Vati which does contain ashwaganda, amongst other things. However Mukta Vati's main claim is to reduce blood pressure (which I have found to be the case for me). Do you have any knowledge of side effects, good studies and long term use? I would be most grateful 🙏 if you covered this subject.
I have been using aswagandha for past 3 years, it act as immune modulators. This is only of the herbs in this earth have amazing immune modulator. I have used for my child for skin rash, like over reaction by immune on skin.
Hi drbeen...nice to hear you again especially talking about ashwhaghanda as a natural antiinflammatory agent. Just want to ask about its liver side effects...how is it common to occur.
Thank you that was so wonderful... yes please I would like to know more about ashwagandha... love the cartoons.. nemo must be out looking for Dory :)... I took ashwagandha and Macca and it seemed to help with menopause symptoms. It was recommended to are ashwagandha in the morning before food... Now the question I have being older and having spinal injuries and inflammation, I was prescribed CBD oil, can I take the two together? I am worried about serotonin syndrome if I take both. I dont want to wake up one morning and find myself dead ;)... ❤
It definitely works for stress. I always took it before job interviews and it was a blessing for my nerves. Like anything though-- I would suggest not being reliant on any substance if you can avoid it.
I took ashwagandha for adrenal insufficiency from longterm prednisone for over a yr but stopped based on good studies showed it lowers morn blood cortisol and I’m hypoglycemic. Also like you Dr Mobeen I felt good independent longterm studies were lacking.
All supplement tablets/capsules will have lots of fillers, bulking agents and goodness knows what else won't they? Is it possible to grow it ourselves and consume it that way? Would you use the leaves, stems, roots or seeds? Or all four? Raw or processed?
BauerteK CorP was visited by Indian Ministry of Health and they were fascinated to know that Bauertek is using Ayurveda Med in its production of natural medicine. Ashwaganda is one of the herbs used for RELAX® with Valerian and Saffron
If you want fast relief from anxiety, depression, ect. Take 400-800mg. magnesium capsules a day!!! It works every time, and it does not damage the internal organs!!! (Always ask your Dr. first!!!)
Dr. Been: It seems to me that covid-induced thrombi are more resistant to dissolving than everyday thrombi. We need something that can help to dissolve thrombi. (Covid caused a thrombus to form in my heart. I just had my 2nd TEE, and in spite of heparin, Lovenox, and warfarin, the thrombus persists.)
If a blood clot has already formed then the meds you are on are to prevent it growing (heparin, lovenox, warfarin); meanwhile your body has the natural ability to slowly break down the existing clot. This must happen slowly to prevent an embolism breaking free and wreaking havoc. Your anticoagulants may need to continue long-term
@hiris1903 Thank you for your input. Yes, the meds are to keep it from growing and also to dissolve it, but it seems that covid thrombi are more resistant to dissolve. (I have been able to find a couple of scientific studies accordingly.) My thrombus is in the left atrium, and when originally found, was defined as medium-sized and partially mobile. A subsequent TEE a little over a week or so ago defined it as now large and partially mobile. I am supposed to have another TEE in about 3 mo. In the meantime, I just had CT AngioHeart W 3D Imaging / Function. I don't have results yet. And yes, I understand that I am going to have to be on Coumadin probably for the rest of my life.
I am confused as to how the immune gets boosted but inflammation reduces :( inflammation is caused by the immune activity, no? For instance, for vaccine injured person who's taking immunosuppressive drugs... it's confusing.
It reduces the NF-kB pathway. However, helps increase immune cells. So boosts some immune cells. Reduces the function of other. This is why some folks see no effect.
4:53 the number of “cover your ass” declarations on nursing mothers always angers me. In general, nursing with various herbs is far far FAR less likely to be an issue than during pregnancy. It’s not impossible there’s a small potential for crossing into the milk, but if we know it can potentially cause miscarriage in pregnancy it can’t cause miscarriage with nursing so that one’s off the charts! A good reference for milk and meds is the actual book “medications and mothers milk” by Dr Thomas Hale. It’s a very interesting book, well worth the money. 👌🏻👌🏻

Ashwaghanda was an ingredient in an herbal blood pressure supplement that I took for about 6 months taking it about every 12 hours. The result for me was at first high thyroid and when stopping then low with finally a high TSH and very high TPO. If you look the ingredient up on google, it can affect the thyroid and this may causes a lot of problems for some people. I am currently on Thyroid meds to save my thyroid that was under an autoimmune attack I suspect from Ashwaghanda. I am not a doctor but I feel one should research this herb before attempting it and check your thyroid levels throughout.

If aswagandha inhibits NF-kB and TLR4, it can be anticancer as well. I use it for a better sleep during extended fasting.

I heard it's not good for people who have or are prone to overactive thyroid. That's common in my family so I've never used it.
