This is the only video I could find that has a well lit view up into the mid section showing the holes where each rod is suppose to go, very helpful, thank you thank you.
Thank you for making this video. I'm picking up a Mariner 15 on Saturday and I plan on doing this first. Also, your vid didn't have an annoying intro and a bunch of distracting music. You were right to the point.. my kind of people.
Killer video, totally to the point without the fluff!! May I add..... I'd skip petroleum base lubes on any rubber seals or O-rings, it can swell or soften the material. Silicone based is best. Use "tune up grease" for spark plug boots or "Dielectric grease" etc.. These are essentially the exact same products, thickened almost clear silicone grease. Also works wonders on low voltage spade terminals or any other 12v connections. Clean connections, add silicone grease to mating surfaces and forget oxidation forever!!
I can't tell you how much this video helped me. I was reluctant to do this for the first time. I have that exact motor but in the 6 hp. The replacement part is the same part # as you pointed out near the end of the video. After watching this I had my confidence. Completed the job by myself and everything worked like a champ. You are the man! Simple instructions and to the point without trying to show everyone how much smarter you are than everyone watching the video.
thank you for this video i bought this exact motor off my pops and he didn't know anything about cause he never used it but 4 or 5 times and i have never done an impeller change so again thank you
Thanks for the video dude. My 1982 Mariner 15M must be a different year than yours, because the pin to the shift linkage was altogether different. Your video still helped.
The mariner they worked on was made by mercury , your is probably like mine built by yamaha which was the first company to make these . The water pumps on the yamaha ones use the same waterpump impeller in today's motors . Making it very easy to get a replacement
Great Video! I just bought a boat and it came with this motor on it. Was having issues with the pump so I took it apart and Its missing the washer. Any idea where i can find one or do you know the size?
Hi GT, Loved you no-nonsense video. You make it look so easy. I dont suppose you have a video where you dismantle the the forward and reverse gear unit below the impeller? My engine is slipping out of gear. Most likely due to salt water ingress into the gear box and corrosion/fouling of the gears. I have the "official manual" but that is really no help at all.
Thanks a lot. Beautiful explanation. I noticed that there was some silicone in a few places on mine, on the top of the lower unit where it connects to the rest of the motor. Unnecessary I a guessing? Thanks again!
Hi, great instruction video! I have a Subaru 15hp 2-stroke built in the early 80´s and desperately need a replacement impeller. Do you know where I can get one?
Great video dude. Do us a favor though, loose the Joe Cool hat & glasses. All we need is good quality information, instructions, and images of the parts. Thanks

And now a word from our sponsor, Raid Shadow legends
Excellent video, I can't believe you did it without swearing, especially when the water tube dropped out from the motor...........

I found your video very helpful with my 9.9 merc. Other videos do not show disconnecting the gear selector or the stop on the shift shaft. Thanks
Nice finally found the video I was looking for perfect demonstration subscribed

Hi, great instruction video! I have a Subaru 15hp 2-stroke built in the early 80´s and desperately need a replacement impeller. Do you know where I can get one?
@Lorne-Again Amateur Armstrongomist Many thx for your reply! Wish it was a Suzuki..... would make things a lot easier but it is definitely a Subaru.
Done like a pro. Thank you!
Do you think that was the original impeller? How often do they need replacing?

That would be a mercury/ mariner . The yamaha / mariner is slightly different
if anybody has a link for a video that shows all the holes that can possibly be clogged so I can clean mine myself. I have a 1984 mariner 15 2stroke.
