I make my version to this by adding sweeten cream cheese and mix the cool whip into it and what ever fruit. I made a strawberry one and a peach one. My son loves the peach one.
Strawberries are on sale at my grocery and are still so good so ,I bought alot, to get that last strawberry fix in before we get to far into fall! I came across this vid so, I'm gonna try it to switch things up from using glaze. And, I was thinkin this would also be good with mandarin oranges! Thank you!
Not sure how long I was sleeping for but the undercounter microwave drawer has been around for how long?? I have to admit I got stuck at 1:46 with you melting the butter! lol New subscriber, making this pie today. 🤗
It's been at least seven years that they've been around because that's how long it's been since we redid our kitchen. I always wanted a hood over my stove and that's where our old microwave used to be. So I was thrilled when I saw the drawer version. Thanks for the comment and for subscribing. Hope you enjoyed the pie!
The fruit is where you get the flavor. It will just taste like whipped cream pie without the fruit. That said, you're the one eating it, so do what you like.
I've never tried this with frozen strawberries, but I would imagine it would work. (So long as there's the same amount of liquid when you thaw them.) Let me know if you do make it. I'll be curious to know the answer.
You can make your own whipped cream by using 1 cup cold heavy cream or heavy whipping cream, 2 Tbsp. confectioners sugar or granulated sugar and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract. You'll need an electric hand mixer to whip it until it forms stiff peaks. Then use it immediately or cover it and let it chill in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
Thank you for this awesome recipe!
You're so welcome. Thanks for watching!

Sounds yummy. I'll have to try this with peaches. Thanks for the comment.
That looked yummy!! Maybe I'll try that with a chocolate graham cracker crust for that chocolate covered strawberry taste! Strawberry Pie Forever...
Chocolate/Strawberry is always a winning combination in my book. :)
I love it!
