No gi BJJ sparring between black belt and purple belt.
Notice how as the match goes on it gets more and more in favour of the black belt?
Jiu Jitsu is at its core an art of defence and survival. As time goes on differences in technical knowledge become greater and more pronounced compared to early on in a match.
This is why competition doesn't necessarily show who is better at Jiu Jitsu. Time limits don't always allow for a true reflection of ability whereas no time limit matches do.
