The standard LFP battery pack would be my choice. The chemistry is relatively safe, and is best (and safely) charged to 100%, whereas the NMC chemistry on the long range pack is the chemistry that can self ignite, and charging it beyond 80% isn't recommended (so its claimed capacity and range are instantly less). Moreover, LFP has a 'bounce back' charge. If you are in danger of running down to zero before you can reach a charger, pull over and switch it off for 30 minutes or so. When you switch it back on, the range will have gone up. That is due to balancing (the range of the battery pack is calculated based on the weakest cell. If you stop, the cells re-balance and bring the weakest cells up quite a way, by swapping power from the strongest cells. Do it before the range drops below 10% though.

The whole "China safety is poor or bad" is outdated. These vehicles are all developed with global sales in mind nowadays. So they are built to US and European safety standards. So even if the Chinese safety test is "easier" it doesn't matter becuase they aren't built to pass that test. They are built to pass ENCAP. And we can see the ENCAP ratings of Chinese EVs in Europe have a spectacular record. Tesla uses Chinese battery for their LFP packs in their European Model Ys...no one says anything about that. It's all a perception thing, based on history. Back in the day China could only really sell very cheap domestic products, because everyone wanted expensive foreign products. How do you make a car cheap or a TV? You use lower level of tech, so car safety was low because they weren't using the latest methods because it would make the products too expensive. Remember that if you take a car that got 5 stars in ENCAP 5 years ago, it probably wouldn't get 5 stars today, every year it moves on, and thats expensive for OEMs. Everyone applauds Volvo/polestar's safety and thats owned by Geely, and no one mentions concerns about Lotus safety even though again owned and developed by Geely. Or in London the black taxi cabs which are all owned, developed and produced by Geely.
You can eat whatever you like. Family picnic, bring a stove and cook a wholesome meal. But seems you enjoy trash food, so yeah you can eat your McDonalds inside if you want
I wouldn't really agree its more like a EV9, it's not an SUV. I think it is a modern interpretation of the VW bus the open space more in line with a micro-camper. I'd like to see, and I think with aftermarket we will do, more camp orientated fixtures. Maybe a camp focused sliding centre console. It's not the same as what the VW Buzz is. But I think in many ways the VW Buzz for all of it's leaning on the VW type 2 styling doesn't really capture what that vehicle was about. This does a better job.

Yes should have been turning radius. Yes in LFP
Nice review. Could use a smidge of ambient environment sound, though. It sounds like you're in an anechoic chamber.
Sorry about that. There was a problem with the audio recording.
Will it be imported into the UK?
@@johnkellett7797 doubt it. If MPV make a big comeback who knows.
Can the VW id buzz be compared with this 1? I mean its a 5-seater vs a 7-seater, it aint the same
@@burritoxl6056 ID Buzz SWB is either a 5 or 6 seater. The 7 seater is the LWB version. Bigger than this.
Many will agree that the old VW microbus that the Buzz apes on was notable for its “lifestyle” aspects. It was more than just a van. Camping and outdoorsy vehicle.
There are plenty of EV MPVs in China with 3 rows. This is something different. Something meant to give owners a way to use their vehicle in a different way. You want a 6/7 seat MPV there are plenty of those on the market.
@ChinaDriven Nice, hope those mpv's get to Europe too. Cause vw software doesn't have the best of rep and I'm not into SUV's.
CHINA👍👍👍👏👏👏👏🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳💕💕💕💕💕💖💖💖💖🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Is this a 4.5 seater or am I missing something?
It's a five seater. Rear bench sits three across.
Ruma kun mikä, ei jatkoon!
What a pity they didn’t make both sliding doors on both sides
Both rear doors are sliding, but the front passneger door doesn't slide. It is does open electrically though.
Nice car but I don’t like the led lights over the front, it’s not a cheap supermarket.

With the price of EV cars as they are , i definitely want any car to have neck snapping acceleration, plus a sport mode, comfort mode...inotherwords a single car that does everything reasonably well..0-100kmh less than 5 seconds, min .95 cf on skidpad, max 68db at 110k.h, min 100L frunk. Room for 5 adults. Etc etc
HAHAHA. A little unlikely lol
The Chinese really are giving the Germans a serious beating, but why aren't their cars getting over here (UK)???
Politics maybe????
Well the UK is ofc RHD so that adds complication. It's unlikely that this would sell very many in the UK at around 45K+ GBP
@ChinaDriven In this day and age and especially with EVs, it should be simple enough swapping from LHD to RHD and I beleive they would outsell the ID BUZZ which flatters to deceive.
Too much extra extra gadgets, doesn’t need all of this, it’s all greedy for power and is just more stuff to fail, powered seat tilting, turning … power doors? What a waste of money. Just make a quiet, quick people mover that doesn’t weigh so much you have to spend hours looking for charging stations when you’re on the road
Ahhh nop, people mover? Lol. Im sure you want a car with just the steering wheel and analog everything.
The rest 99.5% of us like having options instead of having a standard same old tech.
I agree. Not everything has to be Electric in an electric car.
VW buzz … 15years of promise since the first concept. Then it came out. Good exterior, boring interior, rubbish software, and the killer …. Way way overpriced. I actually put a deposit on the Buzz 6 months before launch in UK. Glad I sold it .
Can’t wait till this Zeekr comes to uk
Great video but tech is good, safety concerns of cnn EV are the big issue
4WD?

ID.Buzz for that Price and i am happy. But that will Never happen.
Volvo quality, right?
Let's hope the Buzz will never be such a piece of crab.
The buzz is just a glorified van with retro styling. there is no real substance behind it. awful range, awful performance, awful charing

@@ChinaDriven The Vid sounds like trash, so Mcy suits well.
The ID Buzz offers in its LWB-Basis 7 seats with plenty of space for everyone. I din‘t think that those two cars have the same audience.
There are plenty of LWB MPVs in China. This offers something different. More inline with the 5-seat SWB ID Buzz, which is a similar size.
The front looks like the rear of some other car
haha.
Welcab seat
SO much better looking than the BUZZ. VW you guys sucks.
Hahahaha.
Its more an EV9 though, isn't it? the Buzz has lower, taller and wider loading area
China wasn't known for durability of their products. Is there some kind of benchmark or baseline of how well this car could hold up over time?
@@mikosoft “Wasn’t” is kind of key. Nowadays China is producing much better domestic products. Zeekr is part of Geely group along with Volvo and Lotus. And the London Taxi Company. I would t worry too much about durability.
@@ChinaDriven that's the kind of information I was looking for, thanks!

Is it possible to sleep in this car?
Sure, there's a clip of the seats down with the official mattress from zeekr. But I think there may be better solutions from 3rd parties that use the boot and the rear seat area to create a place to sleep.
VW ID has much larger luggage space, isn't it???
wr
Yep it could have been petrol and more would be sold. Simple
@@jeffreyr3056 if it had an engine you would have the same amount of interior space. One of the key advantages to EVs is they generally have more interior space.
5 seater MPV?!? Plenty of other - way better - options in that club
@@fazekasarpad China has many 6+ seat MPVs. This is just something a little different.
@ I got that, even great ones but for me at least the basic force of an MPV is to host 6-7 persons and their luggage; which is not methere at all; hence I ask: why MPV set up for 5 person?
@ for what they refer to as a “third space.” The open lounge like area. It’s a niche. But a lot of ppl nowadays like to go picnicking with tents and grilles. And this is kind of for those events really.
It’s not for everyone. But Zeekr have a big old 3 row MPV the 009. You can also get that with just 2 rear seats. Different strokes for different folks
