Dear Jordan Peterson, since I've been following you, I've put myself together to such a degree that it has begun to change my very being....I feel different and almost better in every way, I've lost 100 lbs, I've quit smoking, I've quit drinking.
I'm exercising, trying to find the best possible version of myself, trying to atone for my sins and bearing my burdens as much as I can, I'm taking care of the temple that God resides in, because you are right, you find God within yourself.
The hope that you bring forth after you begin transcending the wretch that you were, to be able to look at yourself and see the problem as well as see the solution.
Thank you for your speeches Dr Jordan Peterson, you are radiant and you are hope for many people that are like me, I hope I don't sound crazy 🤣, I just feel so much better because you feel so genuine and it feels like you really do care, speaking as a man that has rarely been shown that.

In my early twenties, I aimed very high in the form of joining the Army. It's where I learned real discipline and embraced the work ethos of someone who at times went to the limit of their ability, nerve and fears.
I am amazed that Jordan understands this part of the human condition; in which facing extreme limits does give a sense of calm. I am sure many of you have met military personnel who appear to have a calm nature (Even those with PTSD) and don't take themselves or life too seriously.

    Dr. Peterson,
I find it very comforting that you start off by telling people who seem to need direction, discipline, and order in their lives by cleaning their room. I have been doing the same thing for years. I have no background in psychology with the exception of studying my own behaviors. Now I know why I always go back to that when things get difficult and is also why I lend that advice to others in the same position and worse. I think it is wonderful you are doing this for people on a macroscopic scale. Keep up the phenomenal work!!!

I've found this in my own life lately, I left home in newfoundland at the average age of 18, landed myself in Toronto where I was basically forced to dive right into the min wage workforce just to get by and cover rent and expenses and such, turns out working min wage 9-5 straight out of highschool doesn't do much to help one find themselves, i'm now 36, work as a cook instead of factory work and because my gf is on disability, she basically gets penalized when I make even just full time min wage pay which is bs so I have found myself working part time with a lot more free time on my hands then I am accustomed to, and I now find myself realizing I don't even know who I am simply because I've never really taken the time to find out, and I have no sense of purpose, my only purpose until now has been to work to survive, now I find myself seeking more meaning and purpose in life, which I guess is a good thing, just can't help but feel I should have gotten here before 36 years of age lol, and maybe I'm wrong in that thinking, maybe Jordan would say it's never too late to find purpose and meaning, I expect his purpose in life is much different now then it was 10 years ago or even 5

Like, what if you just did one little minute thing in this day that you couldn't predict you would do, or one little thing that you might think "what's the use?" And, you will change your life, I guarantee. Take a step in any direction and the path will find you if you are sick and tired of "just hanging around".

If you find yourself becoming anxious in the morning after drinking coffee quit coffee.
Living this life I have learned that there are two kinds of anxiety, there is mental and physical. You can be happy one minute in your mind and then have a physical feeling of dread the next.
A deep and heavy sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach and two elephants crushing your back and your chest, you find it hard to breathe but you do not know why and your mind comes undone worrying and scrambling to figure out the cause which exacerbates the underlying problem.
It is that your body reacts to external stimuli in the physical world and it doesn't just have to be what you put in your mouth but also what you see, hear and feel and your mind has not caught up with the physical world's "temporary blindness of hindsight".
The reverse is also true as well, what can affect you mentally will also manifest physically.
Overcoming depression is very similar to overcoming an addiction and once you tread down the path of going back to that addiction, it is a lot easier to quit because you've lived the experience of quitting and know what that feeling of overcoming and empowerment felt like and you are reminded of that comforting feeling and knowing. It just takes the will to do it and avoid repeating the same scenario.
When you defeat depression and search within yourself and see all facets of what it is and how it works you will never fall back into it because you see it for what it is and how small it is in the bigger picture of things. You realise it holds you back and in that moment is where courage is born and with each passing of a downturn you remind yourself and the courage becomes stronger, less prone to attack.
Depression is a prison it's up to you how long you want to stay there, You are the prisoner and the warden and you can come and go anytime you please.
Defeat the enemy within, build up your defences and give it no quarter. Have compassion for yourself see every interaction as a lesson and after that interaction reflect upon it, good and bad because we can't learn from just good. To fully grasp the meaning of something you have to see all sides not just the first thought that comes to mind.

Very good information in here... The only thing that I disagree is eating food as a solution to control anxious. If a person does not have a self control will probably eat and eat end up creating another health problem... And a question comes up, is eating a permanent solution for anxious?

The problem with these videos people post is they cut up a bunch of things he says and context is gone. I have no clue the context that he says eating is to help with anxiousness

    Seems like stress eating,
I'm a stress eater, trying to stay conscious of turning to food when I feel anxious. This might not mean the same thing

Jordan's ego has not developed any internal organization and awareness, because it is severely attached to trying to avoid annoying Walt.
To avoid annoying Walt, Jordan learned to speak in ways that do not make any real difference and therefore would not trigger Walt's internal conflicts.
Jordan intended to keep Walt in a trance-like state of mind disconnected from his torrential flood of internal discrepancies, complaints, and resentment.
