I am trying now to figure out what I’m gonna do as I log my cars and engines in a data worksheet. I can't remember but its around 20 x 25. Remember smaller layouts can be more enjoyable (and save a lot of money). You can still cram lots of stuff on a smaller layout. For layout control if you pick one ecosystem, it is a lot easier. I picked Lionel's Legacy system and LCS system for mine.
I just updated to 1.61. And im about to put 1.60 back on it. I just remembered why I put it back to 1.60 yrs ago when it 1st came out🤦♂️ 1.61 makes my remote wonky not real responsive. Plus when I pull a locomotive up the 1st # for the loco is always scrambled. That and for the few engines that need 1.61 I don't plan on running🤷♂️ But great video 👍

Can you point me to where you talk about the previous Lionel Videos such as the WiFi module and other modules, including if you made one, How to make trains with engines, Diner cars and Other interaction cars.

I'm also glad you're using Fastrak, Is there a program that I can use to design my Layout using Fastrak? I'm a lousy Artist so I'm wondering if I could use my Tablet so I could see what it would look like and print a parts list so I would know how many pieces of Track and Switches and lumber to purchase so I can place it in my Basement. I appreciate this informative step by step video. I'm trying to install cab and base 1.7 update however, it's not recognizing that the module is plugged into the base. I'm at a loss and don't know why it's not working. Any suggestions? Many thanks for your support!
When you say not recognizing, what do you mean? Make sure your module has the Base file on it, not the Cab-2 remote file. Maybe tell me step by step what you are doing?
If you use the Black rewritable modules, then yes, it is the same module. You write the Base update file to the module and update the base, then rewrite it with the CAB file and update that.
Maybe you can help me I have a 990 Legacy remote system on my layout now I just bought a 993 how do I get it to find the base of the 990 so I can have a second remote my engines I'm not really sure what I have to do.
I tried to fine the Legacy System Utility on Lionel web page. The page is different than the one from 2 years ago. Did Lionel discontinue the Legacy System Utility? Do you know how I can find the Legacy System Utility. So, I can Downe lode it to my computer. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

Not sure but sound like it did not like the file. Did you try and redownload from Lionel's site? What version were you on and what version were you upgrading to?

Did someone teach you how to do all this? Or you read the manual. Seems confusing to me but then again, I am a real beginner on trains.

Just make sure it is on the same channel and that is all you have to do.

Sean I would be very careful you accidentally leaked your ip adress you might want to private the video and edit it out.
Thats just an internal address between the laptop and LCS Wi-Fi module, it's not on a network anyone could get to, so its ok.

Hey Sean, my train shop upraded my Legacy remote and base a while back, the remote says 1.70 but the base says 1.60 is that correct?
