OOps..... I see scratches on the roof racks.... from the previous owner... and suggestion.. Take the thank you floor mats out of the car and put them in front of your sons toilet..!!! ha ha ha,,, I know being funny. But if I suggest putting one if front of the Mama's Toilet someone would get in trouble... lol. Just stirring the pot here... Actually I may start to look at a Renegade... the 05 Tundra is reaching 200,000 Miles and the 95 GMC safari Tiera Van should go too.. Something for general work towing hauling, and just a highway or run around town vehicle... Question.. How about me and 4 other KTM buddies I ride and moto camp with come down sometime and camp in your yard for a couple of days and you show us all the dirt trails.. ? and maybe a Pontoon boat ride...lol You will have to have a Fire Pit though... We all love lunch etc. at Tiki Bars... go to my youtube channel and you can see some of the clean (ish) shennagains we do...

I have a Quadlock DASH/WINDSHIELD mount phone holder on the dash of my Grand Cherokee right over the stereo and it doesn't obstruct anything. It's a little pricey but I like it a lot.
I looked at those, they don't block the window view outside? They had ones for in dash too.

If you're not using them, you should remove them because the air drag will decrease your miles per gallon... Also they advise you move the front bar back quite a bit unless you're using it for the same reason.. look at your owners manual
I was wondering how much it would affect the mileage, we're going to see. It would be kind of a pain to put them on and off but once it's in Florida I guess I could, and they will be used a lot down there
I doubt it adds up to a noticeable amount.
@@jzenick your doubt doesn't matter... plenty of studies and research by the manufactures have shown passenger vehicles can have up to 25% increase in fuel, with an average of an 3mpg increase caused by a roof rack. You're basically driving around with an air brake.
Various manufactures have SPECIFIC instructions on sliding the front roof rack towards the rear of the vehicle to keep it out of the airstream as much as possible for this exact reason.
I could see those figures being right when loaded, not just the empty rack. I have a rack that creates much mor drag on my 4Runner and an awning hanging off the side of the rack, and the fuel consumption difference with and without is negligible.
If what your saying is true, they would never install them at the factory because they wouldn't meet EPA standards for fuel milage on quite a few vehicles. 25% is a huge impact.
@jzenick 25% you think? I installed three cross bars on my Jeep that were squared and not aerodynamic at all and I never noticed any difference in fuel mileage

Should be fine for under 100 pound kayaks. Plus as thin as they are, probably no noticeable mpg loss either. Even my thicker ones didn't really do anything mpg wise without a load
I agree, the way they're shaped should not affect the mileage hardly at all. Probably not even noticeable.
The kayaks we end up going local and not even over 40 mph so I'm not going to worry about it. I'm sure it'll be fine even with two! I'll have to get one of those racks that flip them up on the side
The roof racks on my Rubicon aren't rated for what I put on then and they've been holding up fine
Oh good gosh yeah! Especially if you're doing 10' kayaks, you could totally do 2 or 3 if you play your Tetris right! It's 12 footers that get squirrelly.
