Fab ,amazing something to be proud of. Thank you . I hope these type of films should be shown in schools to give teenagers confidence, to have a sense of belonging to have hope that makes you want to achieve .. 👍

U15 English champions. Fabulous team. 1971. Squad - Shields, Saunders, Bradford, Evans, Reid, Pimblett (Capt), Thomas, Walsh, Phillips, McClatchey, Tobin, - Subs. (Jones Gkeeper), Clarke (striker), Henderson. 5 in that squad were from PGS (Prescot). Only Reid (Bolton, Everton etc) and Pimblett (Aston Villa) - (the latter the youngest player and Capt & a great player) - became first team professionals in the English game though Pimblett soon moved to Australia. All great players. I played in the great PGS Side of 1971 which won the Huyton & District trophy, Merseyside Shield, S.W. Lancs trophy and Lancs trophy. We beat Reid's St Augustines 6 -0 in the 1st round & Phillip's St Aloyious 9-1 in the final of the Huyton & District trophy. McClatchey, Thomas, Clarke, Bradford and Jones all played for PGS. Great players too. great days. - Joe.

He certainly was! He taught physics. What a story he had to tell. He was a professional footballer, became a pilot during the second world war flying catalinas, afterwards continued his professional career and then became a teacher!

My dad used to drive the coach picking them up at The Bow and Arrow pub. My twin and I would go on the coach. Happy days!

How many years did your dad drive the coach from the Bow and Arrow. My mates and I would get a coach from the Bow to many of the Everton games. It was only coppers. But we always got to the ground in plenty of time, and getting back to the Bow pretty soon after the game was over. There were some great lads on that Coach. Georgie Edge. Kenny Hargreaves and many others from the Princess Drive area.

@@Tony-h7b4p Hi, not sure he drove the coach to the Everton games as he was a season ticket holder and drove as a second job. The name of the firm was Swannels. I remember he drove a fishing group from the pub.

I'm Croatian but my family stayed in Huyton during the war (long story) I was v young but we never forgot the love & help & my parents kept contact with freinds for rest of their lives. My dad was taken to Goodison & returned a few times. I support Hajduk but also visited Goodison. I hope to return to Huyton next year - Two dogs I heard of btw 😂
