Make up or no make up, You look twenty years younger than you did a year ago... I took a break from social media for a few months and have only started watching again In the last few weeks. It blows my mind how great you look ..seriously! You were always a pretty lady but you're so youthful and confident Now it's really impressive.. You should be very proud of yourself you've come a long way.❤

@miriambair 6 mths...well other than Peter Attia and Huberman Lab Podcasts. I'm not sure if those count as social media, To me, they are more educational platforms. Science is important to me.
Not listening to all the different influencers in the Keto space gave me time to clear my head, slow down and figure out what was working for me, and, more importantly, what wasn't. I had to give myself the opportunity to figure it out without all the folks guessing what I should do next or telling me I just wasn't doing it right. I had tried a few things that seemed to work for everybody else but was not only not getting good results for me, but things were getting worse. Like my HDL, which was ALREADY low going down even further on carnivore , and my IR scores going up not down even though I was doing strength training and eating under 20 carbs a day for over a year.. Nobody, including Dr. B could explain why that was to me. People said just keep doing what you're doing. When there's a hole in the boat, you don't make the whole bigger and hope for the best. That made me take a step back and tell myself, " Girl, you better figure this one out because these well-meaning folks are making broad guesses and don'tknow your individual body. I was following what they suggested and getting worse. So I decided it was time to just clear the deck so I could see the horizon and without all the distractions, if that makes sense.
I went back to basics . Walking after meals, lifting weights continued. I am pretty much following Doctor Westman's page 4, except I did not stop using my Keto Chow in my morning coffee . I have a little more variety of veg than is in pg4 even though I keep the carb count down. I have figured out that I don't care what any influencer says, Calories absolutely matter when it comes to my body. I can maintain weight between 1400 and 1500 calories. I have to go down below 1400 to lose weight. If I go above fifteen hundred, I'm going to gain weight . Regardless of whether that's Keto, Ketovour, or carnivour. I did a period of reverse dieting to be able to get it to that amount.
The interesting thing I found was that when I put the vegetables back in, my glucose actually dropped, and my weight started coming off again... With exactly the same calories as I had done on carnivore. Every influencer i've ever listened to in the Keto space swears that's not supposed to happen it should have been the reverse of that. Hmmmmm, maybe I'm an "outlier"? Lol that's possible.
So it's all very interesting. Carnivore is a marvelous thing for many people, but it surely backfired on me. When I went on BBBE. I gained fifteen pounds in three weeks, delt with Some life threatening constipation.. Twenty-two days, no BM, and I was eating lots of fat like everyone suggested, taking magnesium and exlax... I was not impressed. And no, when things finally started moving, I didn't suddenly lose that 15 lbs. 11 lbs stuck. And then I stalled 6 months.
That experience made me just turn off the noise and start over with basics.
I've been doing much better since I went back to clean, meat, veg, and a few berries, my morning KC, meal prepping, and counting calories. It's so easy. I just cook big batches of meat and freeze them in already weighed out containers. Just a variety of whatever meat. And then I have my cooked vegge and salads ready-made. I do about ten days at a time, and it takes me about two hours... So all those other days I spend the time walking instead of cooking.
Win win :)
I can never come up with these simple things myself, but topping your Keto Chow with a little bit of keto cereal is a great idea !

@@miriambair I also add about 1 1/2 tsp of beef gelatin which makes it thick enough to eat with a spoon. Helps me slow down when I eat it. SO yummy. I do notice the thickness difference because of the reduced acacia gum. But like you said I could always add some. Or I could increase the gelatin. I'll play around with it to see.😉
We have a couple of lots about 90 minutes away, like you. I enjoy going there “playing” little house on the prairie since we have no power besides a Jackery 300 and a generator, it’s lots of fun yet exhausting! 🖖🏻😘🙏🏻👍🏻
Yeah exhausting is true. But there is something about being in nature. It just feels so good.

I love this whole video, @Miriam Bair - you need to keep doing -- and I love Strawberry Cream in all its forms, so much better than the old Strawberry Keto Chow (reg or with monk fruit) -- keep all the Strawberry Cream coming!! - you didn't say in the video, how did Robert do in the competition?
He got second place. But that is because he ended up competing under a different category called classic physique and he was training for the category of bodybuilding. So he was to feathered for what they were looking for. I guess feathering just means you can see the muscle so well because a person is so lean. Crazy right!
What would one search to find those tiny little keto brick pellet maker mold? I have never seen such tiny ones?

I have really cut down on make-up over the years. I am 62-3/4 and I used to do cover-up, foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara and eye shadow. Now I do either BB or CC Cream, or Milk Makeup blur, a bit of Milk Makeup lip/blush stick, or bronzing powder from NARS, and a bit of eyeliner pencil with or without mascara, with or without Naked eye palette of the day. Some days I just use a moisturizer with SPF. It used to take me 20 min to do make-up; now it takes 5-8 minutes. I don’t wear it everyday. I go at least 4 days a week without. I am perfectly happy with how I look at this age. Because of heredity, I do not have a lot of lines or wrinkles. Yes, you can tell from my neck that I am older. I don’t care. At this age I do not care how others feel about me. If they don’t like it, I don’t care. That is their problem. I think your minimal make-up looks great.

Thank you for your story Miriam. I can say that the 21st of October will be three years carnivore. This Tuesday I will be going for an appointment for benefits that I applied for they want to see about my mental health. Which carnivore has helped me with my mental health, and my relationship with Jesus. Not sure how this appointment will go out. I know that it is better now. I can talk about my mom's suicide that happened when I was 16, now 35 years later I can tell that I am a survivor.

my concerns about keto chow and why i think people should think twice about this supplement. 1) Far too much vitamin A. we get a ton of this vitamin in our regular diet (especially keto) there is absolutely no need to add it. it can only be harmful. 2) copper, manganese, iodine - i would never supplement any of these things. they are toxic at higher levels. many women are already copper toxic, the last thing we need is more copper. manganese is horrible. known cause of neurodegenerative disease. no no no. many people are now avoiding iodine and it is a well known treatment for hypothyroid (avoiding it). 3) this would be considered an ultra processed food in the NOVA food classification system, due to it's ingredients. the fourth in 4 categories. the one you should definitely not be eating every day. there is no such thing as an ultra processed food that is good for you. if you want to be keto and do it right, you have to give up all sweeteners. stevia, sucralose, sugar alcohols, monk fruit, all of it. the sweet taste is what f's with you. this is dirty keto and will get you nowhere. yeah it tastes great, but that doesn't mean it's good for you. just eat real food people.
