Do you can you do it any slower can I actually see where you’re putting the grout on the paddle and how you’re applying it into the holes because mine already are grouted and I want to redo them right over the grout but I can’t see the way that you’re actually applying it you’re going to damn
Instead of making all that mess with grout and have too wash it all off,,why dnt tillers just use a thin gun and squirt it into the the joints???? Just a Question???
It needs to be forced in with pressure. You can put it in with a gun but with forcing it home you need to apply an excess. Therefore you're creating the same overspill as with a the gun
Just did bevelled metro tiles today. Used a Royfhneck Ultimate mortar gun to run the grout, so bloody fast its unreal. Far less work than a paddle. I use a paddle pretty much on flat tiles as you get a lovely run with it, but thebfun is now my go to on bevelled tiles, its the best job to do, I love grouting 😊 Good Job
Once the sheen has gone from the grout. Be careful what you use, especially as a novice and working alone. The Mapei ultra colour stuff will set rock hard in 15 minutes, so small small batches if that's what you have and working alone. Get a easier to use grout that says on packet 25 mins or more work time. Once the grout has lost sheen and feels quite firm. Get your sponge on it diagonally moving, wipe turn sponge wipe clean sponge in fresh water and squeeze out as much water as possible..I always pat it on clean towel to remove excess water then carry on wiping.
@dtaposse2832 it depends on how big the grout joint is, nowadays the better grouts are mostly rapid setting and color consistency is good, that being said, grout as long as you don't over wash. Most of the companies have an all-in-one quote-unquote that does from 1/16 all the way up to half inch or three quarter most of your grout joint sizes are going to be one sixteenth, and 1/8,
Way to edit out the clean-up; the most difficult and important step.

My parents got me doing this (right now) and its miserable.
It’s easy. It’s tiling that’s the ball ache.

Our grout dried so fast…, mine looks horrible and now how do I get grout off
Wrong grout, fast set. Use an acid based cleaner specifically for it .but likely it's pull everything off and redo.
How long do you leave it before you wipe?

What's up with the painted on the edge of the tile above the door? Are you eventually going to put a piece of metal trim there?
Hi,
It is a chrome trim installed it’s just the paint reflecting off it from that angle
