Well... There is (or was) the post WW2 French monster tank ARL 44! But even that one was outdated before it went into service. A design lineage going back to the Char B1, it was basically obsolete by the end of the 1940s.

Every one of those I've ever seen running is blowing flames. It's a big, gas V12 running on magnetos of course. They run really well when they are under power, it sounds great. But they slobber and blow flames when idling and when the power is backed off. Did they all do that? Was it impossible to advance the timing on the mag, did it have a hose and a funnel for a carb?
It is a cool tank yes but the turret was much too small. It should have had 3 soldiers in it and the biggest gun should have been a long barreled gun in the turret..
Yes but it's low velocity and was meant to fire HE rounds for anti infantry/gun emplacement/bunker use. It could not be aimed horizontally, so you had to turn the whole tank to aim. The main gun in the turret was a high velocity low caliber anti tank gun.

The germans did not use the 88 for tank killing during the invasion of france. The used a much smaller 37 mm anti tank gun at that time which could not penetrate the front of the Char B-1 so they aimed for the grill on the side of the tank to knock them out. With the 88 there would be absolutely no need to aim for that grill since then 88 could penetrate the char B-1 from any angle and any distance. Allso the 88 was originally not an anti-tank gun but rather a anti-aircraft gun that was modified to a tank killing role during the battle in tunisia.

Sa consommation est délirante. Regardez et écoutez le moteur a 2:47 quand il monte la rampe, le bruit d'un moteur d'avion, le moteur est poussé dans les tours, les pots d'échappement comme deux jolis chalumeaux, a ce moment la consommation d'essence est très élevée. Eh bien, en combat, en tout terrain, c'est la même consommation, le meme régime moteur car le pilote doit franchir des obstacles, des creux de terrain, ou "foncer" vers un couvert. Lors de son raid sur Moncornet, le B1 bis a eu besoin de 2 ravitaillements pour franchir 25 km ! A Abbeville des B1 bis ont du ravitailler 2 heures après le début de l'attaque, un combat en tout terrain avait vidé les réservoirs en quelques minutes ! Quand a la 1er DCr, elle est vaincue a Flavion, en cours de transfert vers le front, par une panne sèche... En plus d'etre lent, le B1 bis picole comme un trou. Le "autonomie 150 km" sur la fiche technique du char ce n'est qu'un chiffre sur du papier. Ce chiffre est obtenu en laboratoire par la consommation d'un litre d'essence selon le régime moteur idéal, le résultat 150 km est donc déduit par le nombre de litres que contient le réservoir. Ne croyez pas qu'on a rempli le char pour le faire rouler et qu'on a mesuré la distance parcourue au moment de la panne sèche... Rien que le fait de rouler sur route en dur avec une conduite souple MAIS en convoi militaire (respecter les distances, l'allure) réduit de plusieurs kilomètres l'autonomie théorique des fiches techniques de tous les véhicules. Oui il a de la gueule, oui il est impressionnant, mais pour gagner la guerre ce n'est qu'un tas de ferraille sans valeur.

The allies were not prepared for Blitzkrieg in 1940, even USA didn't have the Sherman at this time, which they designed after the Somua s35 after the battle of France. And yes germans had the best tactics, but they couldn't win against two fronts later in the war.

Son seul point fort est le blindage, élément le moins important sur un char. Sa consommation est délirante. Regardez et écoutez le moteur a 2:47 quand il monte la rampe, le bruit d'un moteur d'avion, le moteur est poussé dans les tours, les pots d'échappement comme deux jolis chalumeaux, a ce moment la consommation d'essence est très élevée. Eh bien, en combat, en tout terrain, c'est la même consommation, le meme régime moteur car le pilote doit franchir des obstacles, des creux de terrain, ou "foncer" vers un couvert.
Lors de son raid sur Moncornet, le B1 bis a eu besoin de 2 ravitaillements pour franchir 25 km !
A Abbeville des B1 bis ont du ravitailler 2 heures après le début de l'attaque, un combat en tout terrain avait vidé les réservoirs en quelques minutes !
Quand a la 1er DCr, elle est vaincue a Flavion, en cours de transfert vers le front, par une panne sèche... En plus d'etre lent, le B1 bis picole comme un trou.
Le "autonomie 150 km" sur la fiche technique du char ce n'est qu'un chiffre sur du papier. Ce chiffre est obtenu en laboratoire par la consommation d'un litre d'essence selon le régime moteur idéal, le résultat 150 km est donc déduit par le nombre de litres que contient le réservoir.
Ne croyez pas qu'on a rempli le char pour le faire rouler et qu'on a mesuré la distance parcourue au moment de la panne sèche...
Rien que le fait de rouler sur route en dur avec une conduite souple MAIS en convoi militaire (respecter les distances, l'allure) réduit de plusieurs kilomètres l'autonomie théorique des fiches techniques de tous les véhicules.
Oui il a de la gueule, oui il est impressionnant, mais pour gagner la guerre ce n'est qu'un tas de ferraille sans valeur.
Un peu comme le char tigre quoi :)
BFVK 1551718 : t'est un gros con d'ignare: le char Tigre par exemple avait MOINS d'autonomie que le B1b et ça n'a choqué personne , la conso du B1b était absolument normale pour un moteur de 300cv tirant 31 tonnes ,quand à sa valeur au combat, 13 panzer 3 et 4 détruits par un seul B1b à Stonne c'était rien? ...pauvre naze...

Ok, Frenchs lost against Germans in 1940... they lost against german army, one of the best.
But for exemple, Americans have lost the Viet Nam war in 1975 - after three desperate offensives - against Viet Cong... they lost against something who is not even an army, against disordered farmers with guns.
So, please, just have a brain and learn who was really weak in wars.

The allies were not prepared for Blitzkrieg in 1940, even USA didn't have the Sherman at this time, which they designed after the Somua s35 after the battle of France. And yes germans had the best tactics, but they couldn't win against two fronts later in the war.
