Really, I get the idea that humans divide everything and the commentary or war, hatred violence etc but The line 'repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here' always seemed a little sanctimonious but also antithetical to lateralus where a lot of the songs talk about living in the moment, not fretting about the fleeting nature of life and rather accepting it like literally in the title track and parabola. Similarly it doesn't match their prior views in regards to religion, literally having a song called opiate where religion is compared to an addictive drug and used to normalize horrible actions, now were repugnant to not take the drug. If he's talking metaphorically about general spirituality rather than the specific religion his mother followed which context leads me to believe is what he means, then I think they addressed that topic better with songs like third eye. Idk things seems relatively consistent throughout their discography even in fear innoculum in regards to the messages, morals etc they're trying to convey but this song in particular seems out of place to me.
@@WookieWarriorz "heaven" use it as a metaphor for good, peaceful, sky, nature, stars, sun, etc....also the point of Tools music is not that they are loyal to some beliefs or ideas but rather evolution, learning, growing, open mindedness, and moving forward...riding the spiral...anyways, that's my two cents
Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscience of his fleeting time here... this hits me as I lurch into the mid-forties.
Rex Ahdar That’s awesome. It flies in the face arrogance and absolution. College students could find a lot of wisdom in that lyric if they let themselves. 👍
I was hoping it would be this song! I won't go as far as to say it's my favorite Tool song, because that's an impossible decision, but this is a song that I never get burned out on and never hit the skip button when it comes on. There's very few songs I can say that about.
NooDLES411911 yea he was late to the tool party except for a few radio tracks and he’s been slowly picking his way through the last couple of years savoring it, he knows he’s got lightning in a bottle and wants to save the rush of hearing a new track for the first time. been a joy watching it from the beginning of the ride.
There genuinely is not much better than watching people listen to TOOL who never have, and watch their minds be completely blown. It is a truly beautiful sight!
I'll be another broken record (I've read a million comments to this effect on your Tool videos). I love the interplay between the two of you almost, if not more, than the music itself. We've all heard these songs multiple times. The secret to your channel is how much you both enjoy each other enjoying the music. That's what makes it attractive, and at least for me, keeps me waiting for that latest reaction video to go up. Few of us are fortunate enough to have what the two of you have (me included). It's a beautiful thing.
Dead on, mate! OMG The pure joy! It hits them at the same time it hits me. There should be videos of us watching them... I'm pretty sure that I had the biggest grin through the end of that reaction. Love it!
Welcome, guys, to Tool Army. This is one of the most beautiful songs evers written. It hits you with no mercy, with a giant amount of realism and summing up all human histpry in one song.
I love y’alls videos. This one especially. It’s fun watching people experience Tool songs for the first time. Has anyone else noticed her floating head throughout this? It’s a beautiful head.
I feel this with the both of you. Tool brought me closer to my woman early in our relationship. I introduced her to Tool and I am convinced it's the reason she fell in love with me.
This band has a power underground fan base...they said fuck you too radio and their 3.5 minute songs. Tool decided too be a true artist band of our century...if you don't believe keep listening
Before I watch this, let me say thank you for reacting to this song. Sadly these lyrics have been endlessly relevant. Can’t wait to see the reaction. Aaaaand go!
One of my all-time favs from Tool. WHat a fucking song, riff, lyrics, drums Holy SHit. Heard it a million times and every time I hurt my neck, covered in chill bumps. MF worship service!
Good lord I love yer reactions... u 2 just understand too well that all music is a journey and destination... and its our brains and ears that choose what kind of transportation we are going to be taking... i see u 2 and I see myself... great reaction!
Your reactions are the best on the internet, and it's not even close. I was laughing and losing my mind with you, even though I've heard this track many times. I love how you give credit to each musician (especially Danny on this track) when credit is deserved. Thanks for cheering me up this morning 😁
I was just listening to this track in the car today and it made me wonder when you were going to drop another one........ :) Love sharing Tool songs with you two :) :)
AWESOME.......MORE TOOL!!! You guys are the koolest kats on the Tube😎 Your personalities and appreciation of music is a joy to watch EVERY time🤗 Keep it up guys, from all us TOOL fans in Australia 😎
Got to remember these guys are 50++ I've heard time and time again this band is a head of there time! Na they where on piar with there Era!! Music these days and everything else going on?
There is an animated film clip used with this song, not created by the band but fits perfectly with the theme. Absolute masterpiece, one of my favorites for sure- and I love a lot of Tool songs.
this is my top favorite Tool track right here! I can always get lost in this song, and that middle part with the little drum breakdown (don't know the specific instrument used) is so badass and it has such an amazing groove to it if you listen carefully! All in all I love this song glad you checked it out!
Great reaction. Imagine being at their concert and the energy flowing because thousands of people are feeling the same thing all at once. This is the best one that can make you go from that power-tension feeling to crying within a minute or so when thinking about how we are one and yet don't see it and are so easily led to kill and hurt others.. Awesome. Tool songs are all unique experiences.
Disposition/Reflection is my favorite piece of music of all time.. I like Triad but I think it's its own thing... Where reflection leaves you off just mentally is where I like to stay Triad takes you back to hard pounding heavy guitar ... IDK Lat is the best album ever imo
Yes!!! Requested it awhile back ( I am sure was the only one... not! lol). So happy to see both of your reactions to this. My daughter (8 yrs old) loves this song. Watching you beside your wife was classic as it builds, and then watching her mind get blown is always a treat.
I have to say I love the way you close your eyes and fully amerce yourself into the songs. It’s true respect and love for music as a whole. You can almost meditate yourself into the exact place that artist would like to take you! .... That or your just high a/f 😂 either way keep up the quality content!! 👍🏻
This song is absolutely phenomenal, really fun to play on guitar. As always another great reaction you guys, I can't believe I missed your last live stream for deftones new song 😱 I can't wait for that album 😤 keep on rockin you guys can't wait to see what you'll react to next 😁
One of my favorite Tool songs on 10,000. It's so f'n awesome and rocks so f'n hard!! Omfg. So good. Your reactions as usual are gold. Love you guys! You need to review some Meshuggah. One of my fave bands.
The emotion of that track would love to see their reaction especially his wife because I see that she feels the music. You both have great reactions to tool, the passion is undeniable
I’m going back to your previous stuff and just enjoying y’all’s reactions. The songs y’all pick are always the best!! Love the stuff guy’s!! Keep doing what y’all do!!! Peace from the Keys!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼✌🏼✌🏼🍻🍻🍻
Such a sick song man. Was in grade 9 when this came out. I remember showing everyone around the school the tool album lol everyone thought I was nuts Here we are years later and lots of people thanking me now lol
This musical moment for me stands as one of the best songs I’ve heard from Tools discography. I’ll go as far as saying anyone’s back catalogue ever. I listen to all musicians no matter what genre. I can only describe as having all of my musical buttons pressed at once. V
I just came upon all yall's Tool reactions and love them. I really hope yall take the time to do Wings for Marie, pt 1 and 2. That song hit me hard, as it dropped not long after my Mama passed.
Dylan your reaction to 10,000 Days/Wings was very raw and emotional. I would love to see you share that with your lovely wife. Thank you for your vids. They truly bring me back to when I first heard these songs. That visceral, emotion that can only be given by Tool.
"Monkey killing, monkey killing monkey over Pieces of the ground" and "Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here" one of the most relevant Tool songs for me lyrically, and, musically driving, a complete commentary of the world right now

What I hope people who’ve not been fortunate enough to see them live is just how fucking incredible and consistent they are. Being short changed at a TooL show is about as likely to happen as Kim Kardashian growing a brain.
The most timeless, universal lyrics of any song ever.
so much truth

WookieWarrior Buddhist philosophy is a recurring theme in their music. With this track in particular, you’re being given a seminar
I prefer Disposition-reflection-triad.

My favorite MJK lyrics ever written. And that is saying alot.
MrDuanepalmer Me too bro. 🤘🏻
I have this verse reproduced and laminated on the door of my University office. Perhaps the greatest line ever written in a rock song.
Rex Ahdar That’s awesome. It flies in the face arrogance and absolution. College students could find a lot of wisdom in that lyric if they let themselves. 👍
This line has helped me to center myself for years. Hits right in the soul
Seeing someone react like this to the greatest band to ever walk Earth gets me borderline emotional Every. Single. Time.
Not borderline for me, it happens. I can't listen to this song without getting emotional..period.
I hear you I feel you, but they're still Led Zeppelin
I just can't believe this is all new to them.
Tool. Unbelievably talented group of musicians. I have so much appreciation for them, it’s unreal.
Ditto my good man.
The whole ramping buildup through to 7:38 is just madness, my absolute favourite tool moment
Probably the best 3 minutes of "metal" music history

I concur, Number One...
"Whats your favorite TOOL song?"
"Ummm, the one I'm currently listening to at that specific moment" 🤣
I feel the same 4 wings for Marie part 1 and 2 and Judith
So much love for you two. You guys radiate joy and everything I love about music. 🖤🤘🏼
Dude I'm so stoked you finally listened to this masterpiece!
@Chese 311 I think he's heard it before but his wife hasn't. This is my top 3 favourite tool song
NooDLES411911 nope this was his first time 👍

Music aside, the chemistry you two have together is amazing.
One of my fave Tool tracks. This song has so much meaning, especially in today's landscape. My God, so damn powerful.
I adore watching the enjoyment within the spirit of you and your beloved.
Probably their best work lyrically. Nothing short of a masterpiece.
I wouldn't complain if you guys wanted to do Tool reactions like 10 times as often.
my favorite tool reaction videos!

You two are by far my favorite reactions with Tool. This world needs more Tool reactions from both of you! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you 😊
Erica Caldwell I wish you two could react to the whole Tool discography
Eulogy next! Song is all sorts of insane
Hell yes. A good old fashioned banger from Aenima.
Eulogy hits hard for sure! Kudos
4TH thank you guys for more TOOL!!! The beeeeeest TOOL reactions. Seriously thank you so much. Ticks and Leeches Rocks BTW
He reacted to Ticks and Leeches in his vehicle (look it up - worth it) but I’d love to see her reaction, too.
Our boy Dylan got the spasm going on about Tool we all secretly want to live out in public or around our friends.
I love his videos.
By far the best Tool reactions! Love them both!
TOOL always walks the fine line between beauty and chaos.
Well put.. 👍🏻
I watched this 4 yrs ago... the sliding doors momemts between you 2 re closed eyes are truly epic 😂😂😂

always forgotten , sadly , its the best Tool song imo
Ein Achtzehn Millionstel yeah that’s what I mean. I’ve seen all of his Tool videos, even his car reactions. I want to see his wife’s reaction.

The three songs together are pretty lengthy. I think that's why most reaction channels don't bother. Unfortunately.

"Monkey killing, monkey killing monkey over
Pieces of the ground" and
"Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability
To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here"

Greatness! 😎🙏🏻

These two are the best to react to Tool. Not just this song… 🙏
Tool - The patient

Good shit guys! Been waiting a long time for this one Dylan!
Genuine reactions. I just sunscribed...listen to more tool and deftones, it never gets old😁😁👍 also try Crosses another band by Chino
Watching HER enjoying this masterpiece so wholeheartedly brings tears to my old eyes...
I don't know what's better, when Tool ends a song in the hight of passion or when they end a song by letting you down gently, like Right in Two.
That reaction when you're like enough already god damn..... and it keeps ripping
I bet you guys would LOVE Rosetta Stoned by Tool. Would love seeing you guys react to it!
