Chevy Chase said he was so angry when John Belushi died he didn't cry for 5 years. Belushi and Chase were rivals, but Belushi's wife, Judy, said there was also a friendship between them.
Moral of the story we are not invincible. Take care of your body mind and soul. It’s sad that these drugs and overdoses are very much still active til this day.
What happened to the woman what happened to the dealer that gave Belushi the drugs and inject them with a fatal dose of heroin she was living the rest of her life in Canada

@@lpr5269 if you are referring to “The Stanton Peele Addiction” article, I think it’s correct in some aspects and in different cases. It depresses me that only The Blues Brothers and his being adjacent to Ghostbusters is what keeps his name alive. Animal House is considered offensive now, even though it was designed to be offensive. No one knows Continental Divide, a wonderful film written by Lawrence Kasdan who also wrote Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Empire Strikes Back. No one cares about 1941, a wild chaotic comedy written by the guys who wrote Back to The Future and directed by Spielberg, No one knows about Neighbors, a weird black comedy that was misunderstood at the time and has a great creepy vibe. No one knows his brilliance on SNL, most would think his Samurai character was "racist" even though it was inspired by Toshiro Mifune. People wouldn't appreciate his Joe Cocker impression, which was perfect. No one knows Belushi brought Bill Murray, Brian Doyle Murray, Harold Ramis, Joe Flaherty and Gilda Radner to New York to do the National Lampoon Radio Hour. All the zoomers or millennials know about him, if they know him at all....is that he was a Blues Brother and died young. It's sad and not right.

I knew the Peter Venkman role in Ghostbusters was written for John Belushi but I didn't know Chevy Chase's role was also meant for John. Sad how that talented man's life tragically ended.
I know it’s kind of odd to say but when they showed clips of his former friends and costars reactions fresh after hearing the news in ‘82, there’s a genuine sense of humanity there. No faking it for the camera as celebs tend to do. It’s that rare moment when you know it’s real and unfortunately it’s because of shock and sadness. They truly loved the guy. As did we all. RIP John.
The only person to blame is John himself. When you read the books about him or the behind the scenes of SNL. Belushi was a loose cannon, and his wife and friends did everything to help him. It was his fault in the end unfortunately
If only he had said no to Cathy Smith when she suggested he take a speedball. She was the one who shot him up. It's clearly her fault. Belushi would have been alive long enough for Bill Wallace or Smokey Wendell to arrive hours later to take him back home.
Jim is so good in his own right too, according to jim is such a funny and great show. 2 super talented brothers John and jim, glad his brother is around and did acting too.
Shocking overdose? Shocking? Everyone knew it was just a matter of time. And he starts to Speedball? Love you John, but speedballing is never a good idea.😢

Rip John belushi was introduced to you through drake and Josh, I’m a soul mannnnn the talent show one of my favorite episodes wish I got to see your acting in a lot more movies and during my time u passed 16 years before I was born definitely never forgotten
What’s it really shocking or did everyone turn a blind eye to his struggle. A lot of yall choose to ignore and pretend it was such a surprise when yall knew what they was doing the whole time. And I ain’t talking celebrities I’m talking your family and friends
He knew about his addiction so did everybody else, a very unfortunate death, nobody should be surprised. Very sad! Only funny when coked up. Farley was not funny at all but should have learned from the past. But addiction is an addiction you can't be told, but should have asked for help . God bless them both and everyone who has any sort of affliction. I don't want to read anybody comments.
I've never heard that about him. But I'm guessing not many people speak out about people that are dead. Not saying he didn't do it but I've never heard that.
Chevy Chase said he was so angry when John Belushi died he didn't cry for 5 years. Belushi and Chase were rivals, but Belushi's wife, Judy, said there was also a friendship between them.
Even though it was 1982, it felt like the end of the 1970's when he died. 1980-82 still had that 70's residue and Belushi epitomized that era.
I’ve been saying that about the start of every other decade . People that lived through certain eras they don’t let it go

That was an awesome tribute to the great John Belushi!! Thanks for the memories!!
Chris Farley was inspired by John Belushi. It is tragic that they both died at the same age.
Farley also died the same way as Bulushi in regard to the same drug(s) when he overdosed.
@@VincentVagabondtrue. And Farley died in Chicago. The city where John Belushi was born.
@@VincentVagabond Belushi technically didn't overdose. He really died of effects of long term drug abuse.

"The Blues Brothers" is one of my favorite movies. I think it's one of the greatest musicals - yes, it is a musical - ever put on film.
the wife!, the little girls?, Sell them to me?, a Ha a Ha!, " putt'n the Band back Together! ", ( that scene always cracked me up! ).
It's not a musical. It just has music performances in it.

I just watched Saturday Night. The guy who plays him is spot on. I always wandered how he died.
He overdose
It's too bad there's no site like Wikipedia amirite
Rest In Peace John and Robin
Both talented funny men gone too soon
John’s overdose was possibly the least shocking thing to happen in the 80s.
What an amazing documentary! Such an amazing talent gone too soon 💔 RIP John Belushi 🙏

John belushi could have been great as a Ghostbuster.
I can only imagine what movies he would’ve been in if he was alive. Ghostbusters is the first one that comes to mind.

What on earth are you going on about? It was tacky and classless and some of them literally seemed like they couldn't care less he just died
They had the same dealers probably.
He definitely was way ahead of his time. It’s such a shame what happened to him.
Belushi was raging ball of fire and energy
He imploded at the end
One of a Kind
Rest In Peace John Belushi 😥❣️✝️🕊️🙏🏼

What happened to his wife I don't know if it's true or not but I heard she's dead too she's up there with John she's up there with him in spirit
Moral of the story don’t play with something you can’t control RIP John
Died at 33 . He dident like needles hmm sounds foul play to me
he never had to see what the world would become, but we never got to see what he would become.
That was the best Saturday night live times.

“Top of the world ma!” “But I would give it all up to be alive in 2024!”
And I say this with LOVE to James and Judy and Dan and Bernie and Lorne and Farley!
If only he had said no to Cathy Smith when she suggested he take a speedball. She was the one who shot him up. It's clearly her fault. Belushi would have been alive long enough for Bill Wallace or Smokey Wendell to arrive hours later to take him back home.
He told her he wanted the heroin and asked her to shoot him up. Regardless, he was a 33 year old man. He could of said no. Stop blaming others.
sorry to hear that my prayers are for him rip
@MnMnBahr John was Jim's older brother.
Both are epic actors
Jim is so good in his own right too, according to jim is such a funny and great show. 2 super talented brothers John and jim, glad his brother is around and did acting too.
It's a shame so talented 31 years old biggest Saturday Night star before Eddie Murphy
“Who died and made Jim Belushi a big star” -Andy Kindler
Shocking death? How? There wasn't a person that didn't expect it given his habits everyone around him knew about
In Pryor's book he says that those 3 invited him over to the Hotel but he passed.
Dope is nature's way of telling a TV star he or she makes too much money.. not the first time something like this has happened,,,sadly...
oh my god, you don't do CPR on the fucking bed,smh
He was already dead at least 2 hours
Always number 1 on my list of actors who died too young I’d wanna bring back to life.
Gone too soon... 🌹
You can't do Cpr on the bed
Belushi is still the coolest comedian who ever lived
Shocking overdose? Shocking? Everyone knew it was just a matter of time. And he starts to Speedball? Love you John, but speedballing is never a good idea.😢
If you really think about it, some of the best comedians, actors and musicians were addicted to drugs.
Very disrespectful to film the corners rolling his body out
How?
😢 so sad!!
If they knew Robin and DiNero that he was using I think they should be accountable.
R.I.P John
He was such a funny man. Effortlessly talented. Sad.
Why would you try to perform cpr on a bed thats not a hard stiff stable secure service
Is John's widow still living or did she pass away too?
She died of cancer in 2020.

He was super funny
The drugs were amazing back then

Great talent is far too often accompanied by great self-destructiveness.
Belushi saw Keith Richard doing A Seedball tried to do one himself and dropped dead.
One of the great icons...may he rest in peace
Drugs are BAD kids, very BAD

Fishy shit....robin and robert shot that man up and he died.....shady as fuck!

Is he related to jim Belushi?
Yes as Jim is the young brother of John as Jim was on SNL in the mid 80's
What a stupid reporter, asking Lorne Michaels, "Give me your thoughts right now."
