    I have spondlolistesis diagnosed 10 years ago. I was told I needed a fusion. I refused and persevered with exercise mainly just simple walking. My pain improved alot but it took time. If you are scared having just been diagnosed my advise is don't go down the surgery path. I would be very happy to correspond with you and share what i have learnt. It's scary in the beginning but there is a way through. You are not alone.

    MRI has mentioned this along with some other problems. A exercise I do, one morning I felt a lump , by time a got finished with exercise, the lump had moved and gone. I assumed it went back in place. It's happened more than once an goes back. Don't want surgery unless vital.

    I just want to say, I had a fracture, and there was no incontinence involved. I went to the doctor because I had a large protrusion on my back, i felt it snap the night before while I was doing belly breaths in cobra pose. Warning to all other low back pain sufferers, no cobra pose. I almost didn’t go to the hospital, I don’t want others to think their symptoms aren’t severe enough to go, just go, better safe than sorry. I was in a lot of pain, but I didn’t have any of the symptoms he mentioned, just pain and a hard lump on my back. Also I did not need surgery, I had two fractures and moderate spondylolisthesis in my neck and lumbar, I also have scoliosis. I’m 33, no injections, no surgery, no opioids, just a lot of pain and hard work, I sincerely advocate for dead bugs they’ve changed my life.

    @epmanualphysicaltherapy I have been experiencing lower back issues for last few months and recently found that I have moderate lumbar scoliosis, a Grade 1 Spondylolisthesis with decreased disc space at L5 (target disc for spinal decompression). Also have early osteoarthritis of both knees😣. Will your 28 day program help with my situation? I don’t want to do wrong posture and make it worse. How can I reach you to understand the best possible set of exercises for my back as well as strengthening my knees. I would really appreciate your help🙏

I’ve had problems before where a vertebrae had slightly moved but not sure if this is the same thing, aka ways in my mid back, my doctor and hospital were useless, I’m so worried :(

    This is increzible ! I am having an appointment with my surgeon in 2 days. My FT said ”only thing that helps with this condition is surgery”.
    And I am so hesitant.
    Now I sill give this
    a try.
    Do you perhaps know any FT in Europe ?
    I live in Sweden.
    Or would it be possible to contact you somehow ?
    I guess though one needs an inperson appointment ?

    Hi I recently had a back injury and got xrays and CT scan that shows a pars fracture and I think there might be some vertebra slippage at the L5 level. Can you give me an idea of what exercises you would recommend for this? I've been looking at leg lifts while on my back and mini-crunches only to the pectoral area so to keep the core stationary. I'll be going to a back specialist next week to look over my xrays and hopefully can start Physical therapy very soon.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy

      Hey Eric, so sorry to hear about your back injury...a pars fracture is no joke :-(
      You'll want to avoid leg lifts at all costs right now! That will likely hurt your back more.
      Mini-cruntches are a good idea depending on how you keep your core stationary.
      Have you seen the exercises in this video?

      @@epmanualphysicaltherapy well I'm still trying to get physical therapy set up. I have found another physical therapist in be England that has a lot of exercises for spondylolisthesis online and a book too. I have an MRI scheduled later this week. Flexion x-rays showed some anteriolesthes but it's grade 1. The other vertebrae and discs look good from x-rays. I'm still in shock though that this has happened. I used to do yoga and miles of hiking. Hopefully I'll be able to get back into hiking but I'm thinking I can't do yoga like I once did unfortunately

    Does a Pars-Fracture ALWAYS require surgery? The doctors think I was born with mine. It did not affect me until I was 17. I played all the sports I wanted and borderline competitive powerlifted. It did not give me any pain until I was 26 and had a labor job that severely aggravated and slightly progressed it. After a year of recovery and specialized workouts I am experiencing less pain but is this temporary? Is it possible to build enough muscle in the area to migrate the slippage backwards at all? I appreciate any help!

    I have it in L4L5. I don't want surgery. My right leg hurts so bad that I walk with a limp and a cane. My butt muscles have attrophied. I am too tired from Fibromayalgia to go to PT. I am trying at home to exercise, but I am not consistent enough. The pain across my sacrum is bad. Getting up from bed is hell. I am losing weight, but it is taking me years! I have 45 pounds to go. Am I crazy to believe I can avoid surgery?

    I play soccer and I believe I have a grade 2 my doctor sucks. He says I will need surgery in a matter of time and I need to look at it like money and I have to see where I spend it. He says I could play soccer but I’m effy about it. As it does make my symptoms flair from time to time. My question is should I make my core stronger and then return to sports or can I do sports for now? I ride dirtbikes I think I need to stop that for now .

    I have mod grade spondy but I'm afraid to do any kind of core work because when i do, I get thrown back three to six months worth of pain. I just got out of a period of pain that I did to myself last year. I do a lot of cycling and fond that it helps but when i try core work, it's a real risk...

    whats the difference between spondylolisthesis and spondylosis?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  9 місяців тому

      Hey Stella! great question, we will do our best to answer that for you in the simplest way possible here. So Spondylosis is defined as chronic degeneration or wear and tear of the spine/neck often leading to osteoarthritis. On the other hand, spondylolisthesis is defined as the forward displacement or slip of vertebrae. They both can be caused by overuse such as hard labor or sports activities. We hope this provides you with some clarity. 😄

    Been going to chiropractic for 3 months now and my spondy has not gone away. Pls help

    • @amyfu2047
      @amyfu2047 5 місяців тому

      You need to strengthen your core muscles. The deep abdominal muscles. All a chiropractor can do is adjust the spine. If these muscles aren’t strong the spondy will slip right out of place again once you start moving around.

    • @amyfu2047
      @amyfu2047 5 місяців тому

      Yes. But you need to do exercises to strengthen the core muscles which helps hold it in place.

  • @nicholassmith82
    @nicholassmith82 3 місяці тому

    What evidence do you have to support this theory of shifting the bone back into place? I'm having a very difficult time believing that this can be achieved by simply engaging your muscles.
