The 35D is one of BMW's best kept secrets. We've had our deleted and tuned for a little over a year and i'm ready for another one. Wife loves driving it too much.
Hi I’m looking at a 2012 x5d l/mid gen… where can you get it deleted? I found a place in pa famous for diesel tuning, but even they won’t come out and admit that they can help me with this. Frustrating.
@straightsixracing Yeah, I have a 6HP21X with 200k miles and a 6HP28X in my X5 with 150K miles. Both shift beautifully. The important thing is to replace the oilpan with filter and fresh ZF Lifeguard 6 fluid, as well as the Mechatronic sleeves. Replace fluid every 50k miles and it will last forever
@@straightsixracing I love my RAM but it just can’t compare to the BMW on the road. Both vehicles being inline 6 diesels are where the similarities end haha. The X5 handles surprisingly well for how heavy it is. The awd is also great to have now that we’ve had rain and snow. Now I just have to make the X5 actually sound like a diesel
Even if you are not doing the delete now, get the kit now, the EPA is working overtime to stop these companies from selling them. My son bought his kit months before we actually did the install.

I bought a 2018 35d two years ago, off lease, it had 80k and now has aprox 112km. It has the N57 engine, no mods or deletes on it. Drives like a charm. So much torque and power on this engine and btw the transmision is the same as on the ones with the gasoline V8 engine because it has so much torque. I did only oil and filter changes and the glow plugs just preventive as I heard if they are not replaced at around 120k, they may be hard to remove them. They came out without any issue, in very good shape actually.

Delete refers to removing the federally required devices on a diesel car such as the def tank, egr valve, and particulate filter. Then mapping or tuning refers to chipping the car afterwards and netting it to run the way it was intended to before Dufus (Biden). The epa stuff traps in carbon soot, robs the engine of power, and causes it to last less miles on the road.
