This video is fantastic, capturing such a unique perspective of Twisted Vision! I’m absolutely fascinated by the old bathhouses. They’re filled with so much history and character, making this place truly one of a kind in Brisbane. Love it mate! 👍
Good to see you finally found somewhere you could actually get into. I've been meaning to check the SHB out for a while, so glad to see what they're like. That old photo has inspired me to add this location to a THEN/NOW video down the track.
@@BrisbaneChannel ...It wasn't easy mate; I could tell you a list of places I thought of, that as I said; were either no longer accessible, or have been demolished!...or require advance booking, which 10 days doesn't usually cater for. 👀
@@DavoTheDalek I thought it was a great, unusual place...so glad that not everywhere has met it's fate with a bulldozer, in the move towards 'progress'.
@@SteveMack absolutely, this city has allsorts of little gems. I love living here 😀 The multicoloured doors had a Melbournian sea change room vibe I thought. And the wooden upstairs part had a real 1890s early 1900 vibe to it. All in all I found it very interesting. So thank you 😊👏
Great video. In addition to the windmill that didn't have any wind and the bathhouse that didn't have any baths, I was actually quite taken in by the things you were not focusing on in the video. That is to say, I was looking at the background buildings, streets, landscaping, as that sort of thing. I was struck by the overall look of Brisbane. It could have been any city in America. I also couldn't help but wonder how the architects of the windmill didn't realize that there wasn't any wind before they built it. You would think that would be a serious consideration. I'm sure the bathhouse probably did have baths back in the day. I like that it is now a place where people can go to swim. Great way to preserve the history of the city and the building. Thanks for the video. Well done.
I guess I'm just used to it all. Interesting to hear of the similarities...you've recently made me aware of how similar Brisbane climate is to Florida. Well, the windmill was made by convicts, way back when Britain basically forced it's way on yet another country that it invaded; I suspect the main concept was more about punishment than efficacy...The brief insert photo showed how the 'baths' in this location actually were - this one was more a swimming pool than previous or other such places.
The old Windmill was used to hang Convicts at one time also, It has a pretty interesting but dark history and people have experienced Paranormal activity whilst visiting at night.
Oh yes; there is indeed a sad and dark history there; but I only brushed over the basic in THIS video at least, as it was a side-visit enroute to the main venue, and not a comprehensive study of the history (of either site fully), since I was essentially 'complying' with the chosen topic of somewhere that I'd never actually BEEN to - or else it would've been a 2 hour documentary. When I do a stand-alone subject, I tend to go much deeper into it...I appreciate your viewing of my video. *Cheers* 👌👍🙂

Thanks for the tour. I think I went there once as a kid but I'm long overdue for a re-visit.

Likewise mate - I hate the way places keep getting destroyed!@@DavoTheDalek
Love that place near Albert park
It's surprisingly tranquil actually, isn't it? 🙂
I never knew about the spring hill baths. Very cool
Great to see such places still (basically) as they were, isn't it?
