I read this book about 20 years ago and for being a simple book it was very very educational and it covers a wide area in science tell coverage pretty much everything at least the surface of it. Before that I didn't have too much interest in physics I like biology but not physics I like cosmology but not physics and I like history and other things like that but I didn't like mathematics much either now I love mathematics and physics and they're probably my most viewed area of study now is I'm developing my own theory of everything and my own new type of mathematics
@TimU2Cool Because theory is not what you think it is. It is NOT just a guess. It's a well found concept in Science. Unfortunately most people use it incorrectly. What they mean is that they have an Hypothesis not a Theory. When you hear people say: "It should work theoretically...." they really mean hypothetically. Even Scientists and other well informed people are guilty of misusing the term because it's a verbal short hand, if you will, that the layman can understand. In doing so they undermine its proper meaning. This might be a problem except for the fact that we are in an age of anti- intellectualism where any imprecision is exploited by people who don't know any better and really don't care or can't be bothered to be accurate. If you are still reading look at the Scientific Method. It's the process by which all valid Scientific discoveries are made. It starts with Observation, the Hypothesis, then Testing, then Theory. I have condensed it so look for yourself. A Theory is at the end of the process, not the beginning. A Theory doesn't become a Theory until the Hypothesis it is based on has been tested and re-rested. So to say something is "just a Theory" is like saying something is just a fact. Atomic Theory is "just a Theory" but it has led to Nuclear Weapons and Nuclear power. Do you think those are real? Of course.
This is a very interesting book but the constant recap and repackaging of people making progress is tiring and boring. I couldn't make it all the way through.
Book has been banned there, has the letters Bi together in it. Any one that now reads or even listens to it will immediately be incarcerated in a retraining facility for people who believe they are free to do as they choose. That has also been banned in Florida as has typewriters, microphones and small things that are pink like pez candy.
I hate when these audiobooks read a bunch of dates, almost seems like they are simply filling a minimum time limit they envisioned….or like back in my school days a minimum word count!
Everyone in school should have this. Thanks you 🎉
10:57 elements, atoms, evolution
14:58 the beginning of science
27:53 (personal timestamp)
34:12- in context: Biology
35:12- Floating object’s volume displacement in liquid
40:13
41:50 43:44
literally need this for my school thing.
Literally?
Thanks
Yess!!

My story is also similar so can you please suggest me how can I start at this year
It's a mistake to use the phrase ".. only a Theory.." as a Theory is an hypothesis that has been well supported by facts and evidence.
Then why is it called a Theory

Well now you can listen to it over and over until the dates start to sink into your thick skull.
@@peterolbrisch8970 Ouch, unnecessary comment, Why did you do that? 😢
@@alvindimes4729 This book is laid out in such a way as to show how our ideas progressed over time.
@@peterolbrisch8970 Now peter, are you doing a little trolling? Nice try….
Damn it peter
This is far too rushed. How is one to remember any of this without a proper order of things? Awful book
This one is messy
