UGH! I've always hated VW sunroofs; they can't seem to get them right. I love that my GTI has no sunroof. My wife's Mk6 Jetta has one. I recently cleaned out a trunkful of water (no telling how long it had been filling), removed her trunk interior, and then cleared the drains. She loves her sunroof, possibly since SHE'S not the one who has to deal with its problems. HAHA! Does Subaru do sunroofs better? ;-)
So frustrating. I always wanted a sportwagen with the pano roof but ultimately gave up due to the failure rates. You'd think making a waterproof car would be pretty simple.
I've got a 2017 Alltrack SEL no leaks, but it's garage parked all the time except the first year I had it. It amazes me that for more than 50 years VW still can't get leaking sunroof issues fixed, Audi included. I had a new 1980 Audi 4000 with leaking sunroof, 1978 Rabbit leaking sunroof.
as a VW service advisor, its nice to see this video before i personally get this complaint from a customer
Maybe if you add a foam strip over the rubber piece to make a better seal
