I should of returned my pot call for the price. The edge of the wood was chipped and I really didn’t even noticed until after I threw away the package for it.
Yes it means there is glass under the slate. You can't switch to it. It's used as a sound board witch just reflects the sound inside the call to give a more realistic sound.
You can't go wrong with anything from davidhalloranturkeycalls.com/ or hanksgamecalls.com/ These 2 are the ones I have the most experience with and can recommend. Good Hunting.
@@bobvogler4149 Hi there! Thanks for sharing this review! Did you ever do a video update on material comparisons? Do you have a preference over slate vs glass vs crystal vs aluminum? I strongly dislike FirstLite (because their clothing is made in China and they care more about profits than loyalty) however I am leaning on buying this Phelps pot call. I’d prefer to support another business, however I will pay more for quality, function and durability.
There is a podcast talking about this call on remi warrens old podcast.

I'm new to turkey calls. Does slate over glass mean there's a glass call as well behind the slate? How do you change to the glass?

Do you have any recommendations for high end calls mouth, box and slate calls? New turkey hunter and looking to invest in high end calls off the bat.

@@bobvogler4149 Thank you sir. Do you have any videos on differences between slate calls, aluminum or glass?
I don't have any straight up comparisons, but I can work on that.

Personally I think the striker is way too soft for that call..I would return that one if I was you lol
Lol, why are you holding all the items up when everything is backwards. You need to flip your video
Very underwhelming…
