Yes! More Neil Young is always appreciated Justin! Would love to hear Rockin' in the Free World, Down by the River and your guitar version of After the Gold Rush. Your attention to authenticity to his work is inspiring!
This really helped me connect the dots. After learning "Harvest" for that groove and the "Dead Man" theme and "My Sweet Lord" for that tricky D to Bminor job I picked this one up in 5 minutes. Can't thank you enough. Next on my list are "Ambulance Blues" or "Love and War" (the version from his DVD journeys).
Dear Justin!!! Perfect 👌 lesson 🎸. You are a great musician and a good teacher too. I love the way you teach it and think that I will be able to play it by myself soon thanks to you. I really appreciate your patience to teach us how to play these songs with your unique way and slowly. 😍 Love 😍.
Tried endless effort to clip my thumb on the A string while playing Bm, just wanted to be exactly the same with Neil because I saw Neil played that way as well! But, just far from that point... Got relieved seeing how Justin interprets this! Thanks, Justin, I'm fine with fingers now :)
Hey Justin My name is lou from California. All your chord lessons are helpful especially the D A and G chords . it makes me wanna play guitar again I'm a left handed guy on anything I can play guitar nothing is impossible when music is part of you my friend and I grew up listening to neil young john denver and eric clapton. Clapton is a master of the blues. One of my heroes on guitar. :) And I dig listening to Jack johnson too I remember watching your lesson for "Traffic in the sky" awesome jack johnson song one of my favorites. Merry christmas my friend keep teaching the world to play.
Cool cover lesson Justin; you are good at singing songs such as that of Neil Young, Beatles, Pearl Jam and whole host of others; guitar excellent and always play so musical dude.
Justin, I too have been enjoying many of your tutorials. They are superb! Just a "correction" or suggestion regarding the second chord. I have the "official" NY songbook for "Complete Music Volume III [1974-1979]" and it says it's A/D or xx0220. It sounds right.
Justin you da man! your videos are always on point and you teach the songs the absolute RIGHT and correct way. always bummed when I can't find one of your lessons and have to settle for a 2nd rate video...that being said, can you please do a lesson for "Barricades of Heaven" by Jackson Browne. THere's some easy chords and some sweet picking walk-ups etc. want to learn to play this song the Right way, cheers from Texas
hey Justin you think you could do a tutorial for hotel California by The Eagles. Such a great song and I see other tutorials but your like the best tutorial maker for guitar and i'd like to learn it from you
I think maybe he did a Heart Of Gold tutorial a couple/few years ago. Google it. I just did and sorry it was Old Man and Harvest Moon. Marty has one though.
***** Many thanks for the lesson Justin, looking forward to all your 'Friday' Neil Young lessons this year. I cant find this weeks one though? The blues lick and ukeulele lessons seem to have made it through.
It's that Neil Young thing! Good lesson! Neil has to be one one of the most covered artists ever. Most are pretty bad cuz very few people can sing like Neil...but love to play this one😀 been doing it his with harp for years...but always used a regular b chord. Your version is definitely correct.
Great tutorial as always! I’ve followed your course with no lessons other than UA-cam for three years and I’m probably around grade 5 now. Appreciate your work! Thanks so much. Neil Young has so many hits! I never even heard this one before! I saw him at British Summertime with Crazy Horse and they were phenomenal! Please do another vintage acoustic songbook including all the Neill Young songs you’ve covered, Led Zep, Dylan etc.. (you’ve done the vids!) Maybe these guys charge a lot! The extra detail in your books on rhythm, tab for the main riffs and showing unusual chord fingerings is a little extra that is greatly appreciated and I’m sure doesn’t go unnoticed! Oh also how about Neill Young Ohio! My fav track of his! Cheers Justin!
wow -- ur doing neil young --my hero!! Justin --give a listen to Ambulance blues (from "On the Beach") and see wt u think. Also, Cortez --only 3 chords but might be cool to show melody and long intro ("Zuma" is the orig recording I think). Thanx for showing this - u r great teacher --crystal clear and you move at just the right pace and I dig when you show us some of the wrinkles or subtleties....
Thanks Justin, great song! And great explanations as usual. Btw, Bb6#11 isn't that rare in Neil's songs. I remember playing it in "Needle and the Damage Done"...
thanks for sharing another great Neil Young song and i hope you will post "Imany -you will never know". A Justin 's cover would get 1million views/likes!!!!
It's in the key of D. Neil plays straight harp and not cross harp, so also use a Hohner D harp. Another nice guitar technique for songs in the key of D is to tune the low E string down to a D. That allows you to add the bass D note to chords that have a D in it, like Bm, D major 7, D (of course), G, and Bb6#11. (Mute the string for the A chord because an A chord doesn't have a D note in it.) It gives those chords a really rich, deep sound.
You're playing "Wrong may you live" the second chord is A/D not Dmajor 7. A skilled guitar teacher can hear the difference. There are too many errors to mention. Please learn how to play well yourself so you won't be showing people how to play incorrectly. I can see your hearts into it but, there is more than heart involved. There is a craft, too!
Best song about a car ever written!
Great tut Just, thank you.
justing whenever I want to learn a song, I come to you. So grateful for what you do....
Being able to teach is a gift, and this man has it.
Yes! More Neil Young is always appreciated Justin! Would love to hear Rockin' in the Free World, Down by the River and your guitar version of After the Gold Rush. Your attention to authenticity to his work is inspiring!
Take a bow Mr Sandercoe.....love this song.....thanks for all of your time you put into all these great lessons....respect to you.......

oh more Neil Young stuff please :)
You're doing great on this ones :)
Wonderful! No video exists for the guitar solo of Long May You Run. Any chance you could do a lesson on the guitar solo for this song?
Justin, so many thanks for such effective yechniques.
The old, "Blew a reed out on my harp." excuse, who hasn't been there?! Nice lesson Justin, thank you! A fav song of mine from childhood.
Awesome song and really fun to play. Please do more Neil Young!, I would love to learn playing Such a Woman :)
Amazing! 7:20 B'Down.
Great lesson, voice sounds great here too Justin! :)
Always a laugh and a joy. Thanks for this one, Justin.
Great tune, great lesson, great shirt.
Thanks Justin, cool strong and a great tutorial!
Hey Justin. Great to see Some more Neil Young. I would very much like to see some Jett rebel!

Very nice!
Great choice. Thanks.
Still would like to see you do something from Al Stewart one day. Cheers.
hey Justin you think you could do a tutorial for hotel California by The Eagles. Such a great song and I see other tutorials but your like the best tutorial maker for guitar and i'd like to learn it from you
This is great, thanks.
Thanks man. I've been doin it wrong.
Thank you Justin, being a motorhead this is one of my favorite Neal Young songs (it's actually about a car)
Must look this song up,
Could you do a lesson on Heart Of Gold please.
Great lesson.
I think maybe he did a Heart Of Gold tutorial a couple/few years ago. Google it. I just did and sorry it was Old Man and Harvest Moon. Marty has one though.
Just edited it about 5 minutes ago. Happy Birthday ;)
Thanks man! You're the best teacher on the "Tube". Btw, love seeing you do those duets with the pretty brunette lady. You guys' voices blend well.

I’m looking to learn the solo. Is there anyway you could do that? Thanks

I'm waiting on Neil to get back to me about doing a book of his songs :) he'll get back to me one of these years ;)
***** That would be amazing! Ride my llama :)
Long A you D - word!

Btw, Bb6#11 isn't that rare in Neil's songs. I remember playing it in "Needle and the Damage Done"...
And it's the opening chord in "Old Man."
Ty
Thanks. I'd completely forgotten about this song but I'm going to try to get my band to play it.
Love Neil Young's music, would be great to have more tutorials of his songs
I know this isn't the place but since your in a Neil Young mood (Loving It) can you do "Flying on the ground is wrong" Thanks your awesome.
hi justin, great lesson as always.
Do you know what key neil's harmonica is in for this one?
Some people say c, others say d.
Cheers
You should make a Zac Brown Band video ^.^ Thank you for all that you do :D
that harmonica joke was pure gold
Could you please do heart of gold?
nice
That was a beautiful melody Justin! Thanks, Jamie from #musicmansladies
So is it A/D or Dmaj7? Watching a live version I can't tell from the fingering, but I don't hear the F# note of the Dmaj7 chord.
thanks for sharing another great Neil Young song and i hope
you will post "Imany -you will never know". A Justin 's cover would get 1million views/likes!!!!
Good for u..u got that 2nd chord right…D maj 7
What key is this in? I want to play harmonica along with it so I need to know which one to get
It's in the key of D. Neil plays straight harp and not cross harp, so also use a Hohner D harp.
Another nice guitar technique for songs in the key of D is to tune the low E string down to a D. Great tune... great job, buddy!!!! Don't worry about 9 idiots that didn't like your video!
Likes me, thanks. LG Heike
In a concert with Wllie Nelson he looked like he da a pick
You look like a piece of human Fire Opal. Do you have a black light on? Thanks for all you do.
He looks like Norm Mcdonald with a little John Travolta thrown in. Am I right?
Your Bflat maj is not the same as the one from nillsLofgren. Watch is video, then you see what I meant
Justin, this is "Out on the Weekend," not "Long May You Run"
Terrible tone on that guitar.
You're playing "Wrong may you live" the second chord is A/D not Dmajor 7. A skilled guitar teacher can hear the difference. There are too many errors to mention.
