Im pretty sure those gold ones are just plated, and the actual material is likely just some high quality concentration of cortosis/frick or maybe even some beskar. If there was another lightsaber resistant material im pretty sure we'd know about it.
I always found the B2 Grappler to be one of the most interesting variants of the Super Battle Droid, and it was a pleasant surprise to see it introduced into the current Star Wars canon Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir.
23 variants of the same beefy droid. The B2s really had some amazingly unique variants, just like their B1 cousins. Really like the B2s, and firing wrist rockets at clones.
I once used two B2 droids, who boarded "Leveler", Gilad Pellaeon's first command. They have slaughtered half the bridge crew and made it all the way to the top of the bridge, before PCs stopped them by liberal use of ion grenades, repeater blasters and deft swordwork.
Just shows how terrifying a droid can be they don't need much to stay online and going you could never do this to a organic not without tones of money and failures
I ❤ the lore of the cortosis battle droid. We're losing to lightsaber using force users, so let's counter that, lightsaber using foce user in charge "that's illegal". I've not heard about many of these variants before! The buzzsaw B2s FTW! Cheers and thanks for the great video
So much nostalgic footage in this video. Galactic Battlegrounds is STILL the all-time best star wars RTS for ground battles. The RotS game was also great as a sort of Star Wars GoW clone.
Or the Simulations only prepare the clones for the standard B2 wrist rockets which appearently are as dangerous as a thermal detonator. I mean yes it will do damage to clones if it hits but thankfully they weren't very accurate and the standard B2s didn't use them often. However The simulations probably didn't prepare them for heavier variants where instead of a rist rocket their entire arm was a rocket launcher. The told us to watch out for wrist rockets but we never told about or prepared for B2s with rocket launchers for arms. Meanwhile laughs in B2 HA model.
@@yagdtigercommander that does make sense they wouldn't/couldn't know about the variants until they met them I'd be terrified if I saw a B2 with an rpg arm walking to me
I like these videos because they remind me of how inescapable with prequels were… It’s weird because the sequels felt like they were a “bigger deal” than the prequels but the landscape around movies and media is so different now so you don’t have this endless stream of movie tie in games…and most of the ones that do exist using the entire 9 movie series. Weird how things change
Hello Metanerdz, just wanted to ask if you would be willing to cover the Munificent-class star frigate after the B-3, given that the ship is actually a de facto heavy cruiser?
Minor correction on the CB-3 they are armed with laser cannons not blasters. Making them literal walking tanks. They absolutely could have single handedly won the war.
Thanks for commenting but not sure where u got that from. I see what u mean that it does say cannons, but everything like the game clips show have then just harder to kill not far more powerful. The next vid is on the B3 which is 4 meters tall and does have a ton of weaponry, I agree that is more like a vehicle than infantry unit
@MetaNerdzLore them being armed with laser cannons implicitly states that they armed with vehicle grade weapons. And to your point about the game clips. The B2 line, in general, is often grossly miss represented in almost every visual or even sometimes written mediums. For instance, a standard b2 is armed with a twin wrist mounted blaster cannon. (Speaking of which the b2s from bf1 and bf2 are their own variant as well, wrist rockets and the tri shot are not standard issue.) Which is a vehicle grade weapon in itself with greater firepower than something like an E-Web, which is a heavy repeating blaster. Not to mention, b2 armor is made of a durasteel phrik alloy, which would make the armor itself more durable than most mbt fielded during the war. But they are almost never shown to be the nearly unstoppable juggernauts these two things would make them. The only instance where their durability is accurately displayed that I can think of is in Republic commando. Where they can eat hundreds if not thousands of blaster bolts before going down. Though there is an actual in universe explanation for the durability inconsistencies. That being that the recipe for the alloys in most droid models was sabotaged early on in the war on several factory worlds. Resulting in droids that could be taken out with something as small as a hold out blaster.
I honestly wish I could provide you a direct source reference instead of a "just trust me bro" but this is all from memory do to a combination of both lack of access to said source and not remembering what it was from specifically in the first place. I've had to do a bunch of research years ago for homebrewing various clones wars era stuff for my ffg star wars rpg campaign. And honestly it's really not that big of a deal. In the end it's all fun educational videos for star wars that gets into super niche stuff that might have a paragraph telling you what it is spread across 2 dozen books. If you are lucky.
Hey EldeBH here, I noticed that you use a lot of my Nexus Mods droid renders in your thumbnails and videos but always show the parts of my renders with the credit left out and you don't provide any credit or links to the original work in your description. Would you be willing to do so?
sorry about that I thought I did on the first one and copied it over but I will go in and add it, really incredible work and cool to see all the gameplay with it on youtube

It reminds me a bit of Wargreymon.🤔

I absolutely love these super in-depth droid focused videos. It makes me feel like I’m not alone in my admiration for all things droid related.
My favorite droid in the series is the basic B2 Super Battle Droid. It's so satisfying to look at.
Imagine if there were just as many variations of the Commando droid!
I always thought there should’ve been a flamethrower variant of the B2, missed opportunity since they were tough enough to actually take a hit.
Really emphasizes the CIS war strategy of swarming the battlefield with cheap and varied units and slowly upgrading what doesn’t work.
Just shows how terrifying a droid can be they don't need much to stay online and going you could never do this to a organic not without tones of money and failures

Right off the bat, MONTAGE!
Ultimate Weapon Compilation? Capital Ship, anti personnel, etc
I fucking love the B2 battle droids, thank you choom
So many flight variants. A shame they were not standardized.
So, the B1 is a Battle Droid, the B2 is a Super Battle Droid, so what's the B3? The Super Duper Battle Droid?
lol yes, that is the next video too
Apparently it was so powerful even Palpatine feared it
The B12 or the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Duper Battle Droid!
The CIS could have one the war so easily that it is just frustrating how rigged it was
MetaNerdzLore I may have already said this, but when are you coming to make a Tactical Droid video.
My favorite super battle droid variants are grapple super battle B2 Droids rocket super battle droids
Can you do a video about the caamasi
Headcannon, the origanal Devastator unit(helldivers2) was actually a b2 who got lost
They need to canonize the rest of them.
Lots of flavors of B2s.

I mean it was so modular Vader used one of those arms in his trial on Mustafar.
I think you forgot the b2 general
Thanks RocketMoney
Shields are weird. They can stop high energy plasma but you can’t just stroll right through them..
Why would you want to have your droid's key systems glow? To get them shot at?
Could you look at Fallout Synths

How many rocket variant ls does the CIS need
Moar!
2:18 why can I hear kick back from chainsaw man lol
B2 SUPREMACY!!
Could you look at Fallout New Vegas Securitron’s
Could you look at Mass Effect Krogan
I always hated those grapple droids
Could you look at Halo Phantom
3:20 had me rolling on the floor
Now we just need all the droidekas variants and the trifecta will be complete
Will you be uploading part 2 of the life of saw Gerrera?
Hello
What game is that in the beginning clip of the b2-HA?
Jedi survivor?
You missed those wrist rockets I think
Hallo there
Wow

@@MetaNerdzLore Thank you!
I always hated the RP version… it needed to look bigger or have some evidence of fuel storage…
Legal
What RTS game is that?
Damn metanerda fell off
