I don't know about your condition, but when my husband had been diagnosed with high platelets, he had to have a platelet infusion. I suspected it was the purple pill he was taking for stomach problems and his doctor kept saying no that is not it. I took him off of it to test it and then platelets count started coming down. Couldn't argue with his doctor he didn't believe it. Who knows what we take anymore. Prescriptions almost always seem to cause other problems.
yup I took away most of the meds I was on ironically for high blood pressure heartburn and muscle spasms, and have had less of all three.. lol now i have to go through a million tests to figure out why my intestinal walls have signs of thickening.. so yay colonoscopy next week after 3 days of a liquid diet... and that nasty drink they make you have... (2 GALLONS - UGH)
i take prevacid for my stomach works great i have had no side effects
Doctors just can't seem to understand anything except their book learning and medical journals they read. We, as their patients, know more about what affects us when we take the medication they prescribe. Listen to your body. It has taken me years to convince my doctor I can't take anything with acetaminophen in it. If I take it for a long period of time, it builds up in my body and then I get hives pop up randomly all over my body and it's a horrible thing to itch constantly especially in areas you can't reach, like the middle of your back! It took me a while to figure out what caused them because I would have the hives for 6 months or longer. So, it was hard to isolate the problem. But, finally, on my own without doctor assistance, figured it out. So I always list it as something I can't take and of course the doctor will question it. I stand firm on it and I haven't had hives since. So, ALWAYS listen to your body and you mind telling you. You are more than likely correct in your own assessment! 😊
I agree jb, listening to your body, get down and personal with it. This has worked for me for 71 years now. And I prefer women NPs more than male doctors. Because they take the time and listen to female patients.

Praying for you, I was diagnosed in September and they did a lumpectome. Thank God they got it all, now I'm going through radiation treatments.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Have you thought about going to the Mayo Clinic ? You can see all of the specialists and get all of your tests done there at the same time. They work with each other to figure out what is going on and develop a treatment plan. I’ve been very pleased with their care.
I have several autoimmune diseases , it has been a long haul with the diagnosis., but there is so many new things they can do compared to 25 yrs ago . So be patient and keep on farming!
Just wondering.... I believe in a past live stream or maybe a video you were given something to swish in your mouth from taking the steroids. This usually is called a Swish & Swallow. It's usually started as a preventative for yeast or fungal and most often shows up as the white coating on your tongue. Just wondering if you've been given Diflucan tablets. Offering ideas that you and your doc's can talk about. The reason is, my father in law was on several rounds of antibiotics for his condition. The swish & swallow would make you think it was over, especially if extreme oral care was maintained. ..With him, the infection was down his throat and would have taken the Doctor using instruments to see. He was put on Diflucan for months to clear it. I also want to add, he told me his tongue had the same sensation. I believe information and sharing is vital today, so it's why I'm sharing. ....Love and Hugs to you, MaryCarl and Dr. Jason

@@marlene2996H. Pylori is a gut bacteria causes ulcers. Gastric issues. That would not be associated with body aches and pains like RA or Lupus or fibromyalgia.

Hey Brooke - thank you for the update. Glad you are better from flu. While I'm not a doctor, I can tell you that I DO have Fibromyalgia- symptoms of which started when I was in my 30's. Diagnosed by my regular GP about 20 years ago & I'm 65 now. I went through the stage in medicine where the doctors told you "it's in your head" or "that's not a real thing". I also have osteo-arthritus. Also almost died July 2021 battling the Delta -hospitalized 17 days, 15 of which were in ICU. It left me totally disabled. 2 1/2 yrs later I've learned to go with the flow & do what you can when you can - good days & bad days makes planning things almost impossible. I worked 45 years in the business world right up to getting the Delta. So I also understand how being down & unable can make you feel emotionally. Keep your faith close - whatever gives you strength. Your health may be kinda suckey for the rest of your life but hopefully you will adjust sooner rather than later. You're a very strong woman & I know you'll figure things out! I love you guys & all the babies ... the videos have helped me in some pretty dark times, so take care. I pray God blesses ya'll abundantly!

I have had about 70 hospitalizations since 1996. Including 10 surgeries. It's no fun having constant battles. Praise God 🙏 that I still walk this earth.

Please ask about Sjogren's syndrome. More likely in women , older than 40 & in people with rheumatic disease asarthritis or lupus. They can get cavities bc of decreased saliva, oral thrush ( yeast infection in mouth), dry eyes, lymph issues, & numbness & or tingling in hands & feet. Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers🙏🙏🙏❤❤.
@RunningGreyWolf I have Sjogren's Syndrome, dry eye problem, dry mouth, lymph issues that included non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system affecting the B-cell lymphocytes and lymph nodes and numbness and tingling of hands with Raynaud's Disease/Phenomena and Rhematoid Factor. In fact, my 29 yr old niece has lupus. Autoimmunity runs in my family on my mother's side of the family(God rest her soul).

Lupus itself can cause oral issues shows up like sjogrens. Don't know if it was ever ruled out. I often notice what looks like the butterfly rash on Brooke's cheek s and nose. More noticeable when she has the sunshades off. I had a high school friend and step sister had that and they both had Lupus
The butterfly rash is a sign of lupus. No always thought Brooke needed to wear sunscreen due to her red nose and cheeks. Could possibly be the butterfly rash.
I have had Sjogrens for a long time. New rheumatologist started me on Hydroxycholorquine, 200mg twice a day.

The butterfly red can also be dermatomyositis The aches too.
I've noticed that too. My stepsister and a high school friend had Lupus and they had the butterfly rash.0

Maybe they should check into Hashimoto's Disease. It would explain a lot of what you're going through, even your tongue issues.

I sure hope all this sickness get figured out soon, I can imagine how frustrating for you it must be. I can't remember if you said you had all your levels checked, but if you are deficient in B-12 or B-9 it can cause soreness, swelling, and a slight tingling in your tounge. If you haven't asked your dr about it, it couldn't hurt. ❤❤❤ Praying for your recovery!

With the original C back at the end of 2020-2021 I had terrible sores in my mouth & on my lips. I could not taste or smell so I know a little of how you felt along those lines. I also just got over 3 days of the flu with terrible body aches & chills & 6 hrs of tossing my cookies. I can not express my deep feelings for all the added stress & pressure you have had to face trying to run the farm with Jason & suffering like you have with your health but I do know the person that can help you through it & that is the Great Physician, for God created us & knows how every part of our body works together so if we trust Him & ask Him to heal you we will have done our part & then we leave the results to Him. Praying for a miracle on Cog Hill!!!!

I have rheumatoid arthritis and I get mouth sores all the time. It’s much worse when I take steroids. I hope they get you in as soon as possible! It’s crazy they cant get you in much sooner! When you had your thyroid lab, did they only do the TSH or also T4 and T3 since those two can cause elevated counts where just the other one won't show it.
Most autoimmune diseasees are diet related. Remove all seed oils and carbs (yes, even veggies and fruits), and eat meat and animal fats. Worked for me and thousands of others. What have you got to lose? Also, cheaper than meds and no side effects
And carbs include tat lovely tasting sugar. Sad to say, its poisoning our bodies.
Sugar lobbyists are fighting tooth and nail o keep it and high fructose corn syrup in everything. Reason for increase in autoimmune diseases.
Remove all sugars and gluten which cause much autoimmune. Also..make sure as much as yall love greens you dont eat too much and raise oxalate levels. Please consider a naturopath a doc to work on wellness aside those working on disease.

Sweet lady, all we care about is you feeling better & finding out what is making you so tired & unable to keep up with daily activities. We so appreciate you & Jason giving us updates. Prayers Brooke. Fellow autoimmuner here. Sounds like candida in your mouth, which can happen when immunity is down. I currently have shingles in my mouth which does not include white spots in there. Just pain and numbness and wrinkled muscous membrames of mouth which makes this RN MSN think candida. Remember hi platelets may be secondary to the autoimmune dx not yet under control and nothing worse. 🙏🏻💕 Good to see you past the flu, up and about.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. The doctors are really backed up lately. August is a long time away. Have you tried a big city? They have more doctors and maybe have a shorter wait time.
This is at the biggest hospital in Alabama unfortunately.
@@mrscoghillfarm Have you considered going out of town to a larger city outside of Alabama such as NYC where we have larger hospitals such as NYU-Langone? They have shorter wait times. I'm asking because I also have an autoimmune disorder and under the care of a Rheumatologist and I have just finished cancer treatment this past Friday 02/09/2024. I will be following with my oncologist for bloodwork and post-teatment routine CT Scanning. I'm keeping you in thoughts and prayers and will pray they have a cancellation for your Rheumatology visit at the hospital in Alabama so you can get an earlier appointment than August, because that's so far out and with these health conditions, that wait times is quite stressful. I think it was something like 6 months before I could get an initial appointment to see a rheumatologist. And that was after waiting forever for them to call me. And yet I could get in to see my cardiologist within a couple of weeks. I think some kinds of doctors are just in crazy high demand these days.
It Is SOOO good to see you up and moving around. You do not owe us anything tested to your health. Please take care.

Keep an eye on the side effects on the medication you are taking. Research it online just to be aware.
I am not a doctor, but with a high platelet count, you are at risk for a blood clot anywhere in your body. Are your doctors addressing that issue?
If not..Please take an aspirin daily..it will help to thin your blood. I have severe fibromyalgia so I understand the waking up sore all over..its not all the time but when it flares up all I want to do is curl up in the bed but I have found if I just make myself get up it tends to work the soreness out faster. Autoimmune diseases are horrible..I will keep you in my prayers. God Bless

I can relate! I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, tendinitis and bursitis! I wake up suffering from one or all in the mornings. I have forgotten what waking up refreshed and pain-free feels like. I've just learned to deal with now because I can't make it go away BUT if I do too much on one day I will pay for it even worse the next day. I have to pick my battles!

Candida often occurs with Lyme. I am going crazy not hearing if you have considered Lyme disease. I don’t listen to every video so maybe you have. If not, everything you say points straight to Lyme disease. Best wishes and I sure hope you can get a good doctor and some help.

Duuhhh. Because there’s not enough Rheumatologists in their area.
There has been a marked increase in autoimmune disorders since 2021. Certain specialists are overwhelmed.
I am in Arizona and I lost my doctor of 25 years over the Covid crap he wasn’t gonna agree to what they were asking of him (banner)
In NC and MD it's just not certain specialists, it's also Primary Care Doctors. With the majority of PA's and NP's if you have a complex case or multiple issues, they can't handle that and need to be honest up front, not focus on 1 part to say this is reason for everything else when it's not true and not drag you along if they can't handle it.
One of my favorite Dr's explained how PCP&specialists should work for you. Your PCP is the head coach of your football team and your specialists are other coaches in specialty areas of the team&other important members like their medical staff,trainers etc. I had a friend who went to a neurological pain specialist for help with severe pain thought to be from a car accident over 18 months ago. He sent her for urgent scans& tests. He got them bk 36hours later. The revealed major cardiac issues. He called every colleague he knew in complex cardiology and none of them had an opening. My friend needed help quickly. Dr wrote a personal appeal for her and sent it outside the state to major hospitals who were top in her issues. Two said they had nothing for 6-8 months. God bless Mayo! They would see her immediately. Lots of volunteers &non profit organizations helped get her to Mayo in the safest way possible, had a couple that she stayed with & took her to appts,saw her thru surgery,months of rehab and healing until she could return home to friends,family&volunteers that helped with things she couldn't do currently and those she would never be able to do again.

@Tiffythompson17 Indeed and Sjogren's Syndrome the autoimmune disorder I have is one of those. I was told to always be hydrated because not enough fluids can cause dry mouth and ulcers.

I unfortunately have Celiac and Hashimoto's. Not fun. Autoimmune issues are no joke.

Are you taking methotrexate? If so, you need to also be on a folic acid. Stops the mouth sores.

About your mouth, have you called your PCP and asked them. Kinda sounds like yeast or thrush. Which after a sickness is common. More so in kids, but it can happen in adults.

Lupus causes sores in your mouth. Plus all the other symptoms you have mentioned. Have you had a blood test to check your ANA? That will determine if you have lupus.
I wonder the same as i noticed the butterfly rash across her nose and cheeks too. Sad s he can't get a Rheumatologist before August.
Roseca is also an autoimmune disease and causes the redness.

I was just wondering, it seemed like you started feeling bad while you and Jason were pulling fences. Would it be possible you could have been bitten by some type of insect? Something that passed something along to you through your blood stream? It just seemed to come on so suddenly. I hope you get some answers and start feeling better.

I know u said they r/o lyme, but there tr common Lyme test gives many false negatives.
There are several diagnostic tests for the tick burns diseases.
Btw, when my hubby first it lyme, he was having "electric like sensations" circling around his scalp. Makes me think of what u described on your tounge.

I think you may have Thrush on your tongue. I had it after I had the flu a month ago. It makes your tongue white and feeling like it's burning. I'm not sure what causes it,but my youngest son had it when he was a baby and the Dr said it was from a dirty house, even though my home and your 's aren't dirty at all. I was a military wife and had just moved to Guantanamo Bay,Cuba . We had to live in temporary quarters which were old wooden houses and once I explained that the Dr calmed down after he read me the riot act for being a bad mother. I hope you can just ask your Dr and it will be a simple fix. I had to take Amoxicillin. Praying for you and your family ❤

I was told by two doctors mine wasn't thrush, but it certainly was.

To Brooke: I understand many of your viewers are providing medical assistance per se. PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN to them. The reason I state this, is they are not physicians. And simply guessing, based off of what information, you have provided.
I am a M.D. (surgeon), and I would never provide medical advisement to anyone...even a family member. I would need to conduct a thorough examination. As well as, run the proper test to understand. What the patient has. Then I could come up with a medical game plan.
I'm not trying to be offensive to any of the viewers making suggestions. I know you want to help. But some of your suggestions could potentially cause difficulties. Just because someone you know had similar symptoms and conditions. Doesn't mean that is what Brooke has per se. Then no one knows if Brooke's medical history, which plays a very important role in how treatments are provided. Again, I don't mean to come off offensive..if I did. Then I do apologize for my actions. Just let Brooke continue to provide updates. And in time, she'll know what she's dealing with. What you say may be true, but many people commenting have been through the ringer trying to get a diagnosis from a doctor who then wants to prescribe a drug instead of getting to the root of the problem. The key take away is do your own research. Allopathic doctors don't know everything.
Just take care of yourself and don't worry about anything else. I am keeping you, as well as Mary Carl and Jason in my prayers.
