Chilled water circulates through a pipework distribution system to the heat exchanger (coil) within the fan coil unit. Fans within the unit then draw air over the exchanger containing the cold water cooling the air, which is finally dispersed into the desired space to provide the occupants or building users with comfort cooling.
In the summer, this building uses chilled water and in the winter the building uses hot water which gets distributed to these fan coil units. There is an electrical heater installed for those cold off season days while the chiller is in operation.

Instead of having to take of wirenuts every time you want to know whether smth has voltage or not, just use a non contact voltage tester. They are ~20$ usually but save you a ton of time as long as the wires aren't bundled up and you dont need the voltage measured.
Some even can differenciate between 120V, 24V etc.

I think working on chilled water fcu’s is easier than working on split dx systems. It’s all there. tight space sure, beats going in and outside imo

Not the best rhyme, but making sure water can't sit in them saves future headaches, when things you can't control introduce water.
So the chiller is now on for the season and if heat is needed electric resistance comes on?
