In my opinion, regardless of dial color, the DJ (36 & 41) absolutely needs the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet combo, or else it just looks like a normal OP. Nothing wrong with OP's, but DJ's just exude much more elegance and class in my opinion.

@@MaxxMilian24 I would say lighter skin suits the Silver dial and the Blue dial, Rhodium would still look nice! I would strongly consider the Blue dial… ultimately it’s your choice and you have to be in love with the dial. I personally do not like the Wimbledon dial as it is not symmetrical. Also with regards to dial colour just remember a lot of ADs will offer to change the dial colour at a later date if you wish!
Just picked up the same exact watch. It's fantastic! The Rhodium/Slate dial is beautiful and very versatile as you point out. Good move going for the fluted bezel.
I am really starting to love the blue dial... would consider blue fluted oyster. I visited the Rolex store in Dubai and they had some interesting exclusive options for the Datejust which I will share by next week
I have 41 mm black smooth looking to add the white with fluted . AD offered me the silver fluted yesterday but I will wait for the piece I really want . Great versatile watches and find them a nice change from my professional pieces .
Just picked up a ‘21 Datejust in 41mm yesterday ... couldn’t resist the white dial - just looked stunning to me. Same conundrum as you’ve described - starting with smooth (steel) bezel, but have a feeling will need to upgrade to fluted...

Eric Mal Everose with chocolate dial is a special piece, I didn’t go for it as I had GMT CHNR lined up which would fulfil the everose gold space! Be great if UA-cam allowed photos to be posted in the comments so we could check it out on your wrist...
Interesting thinking. I got the diamond dial one version of the video, its very flashy, so I'm going for an Airking for more casual, which is very similar to Explorer.
Going to sell my DJ tomorrow and get the one I want. I was also thinking about going 2 tone but I think steal jubilee with fluted is more classic. I wish I did more research before getting this watch so I wouldn’t have to make this mistake.

Hard choice, with a rhodium dial you can change the bracelets between the two. I did a video on visiting the Dubai Rolex store and they can actually change the blue and grey dial! (Not sure if they let you keep the old dial)... but in this case makes sense to get the chocolate then!

Great purchase. I am thinking of gifting my dad a datejust with blue dial, jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. However, on the fence between the 36mm and 41mm, since most of his watches are 36mm. He might think the 41mm might just be to big.
I would always say 41mm for a male, however a lot of people look at wrist size, if it helps my wrist size is 7 inches, which will give you an indication of proportions. I also think the seconds dial is nicer on the 41. Either way it’s a perfect present for such a timeless piece!
Which one is a better investment? The Azzuro blue dial or Bright blue? If I go for the slate dial and choose to sell after 1-2 years. Would I be looking to break even or make a profit?
Bright blue as the Azzuro dial is the Roman numerals, baton markers go with bright blue and are better investment wise, Roman numerals has a selected market. Currently the slate and blue dial you would probably get 100-200 more than retail… I can only see this going up. I’m not a massive investment watch person, I like them for what they are, but value retention and increase is a characteristic which I admire

Hi what AD are you using to have a short-ish wait time, or is it because you are a frequent customer. I'm looking to buy my first DJ 41 im looking to register my interest with my local AD but due to the covid situation I'll have to wait for them to reopen I was advised the wait would be 6-8 months is this accurate in your opinion or is it something they have to say due to marketing reasons? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
Edon Dubovci So I have used tried 3 ADs, 2 of which belong to the Watches of Switzerland family, and one from this is the one where sales materialise. I would advise you to call your 3 local ADs and see which seems most genuine about making it happen. The AD I am using said buying a Datejust would help me enable purchase the tool watches as it develops purchase history. 6 months is too long, I would say try another AD, they will probably say 2-3 months but give you a call in 2-3 weeks... but these Datejust are more sought after as time goes, I actually prefer it over the tool watches due to its slim profile!

I think they will accommodate within 3 at the most, may just be due supply coming through.. I would say with it being such a small time frame can you leave a deposit, that way you can engage how soon it is.. if that is something they usually do then they will take it

I have blue one. Had to wait few months for it. I did consider rhodium as well but went for blue at the end. Don’t understand why everyone want sports models. To me reality of ROLEX is datejust. Classic looks. Even on all sports events like Australian open they have datejust logo not Sub or GMT.
Totally agree, Datejust is underrated, the slim profile and fluted bezel gives it so much characteristic and great wearability! I am actually considering the Blue dial now as it has grown a lot on me, it has more contrast than the rhodium.. I have a Rolex Dubai video dropping soon and will discuss the Datejust situation there and some interesting facts which are unique to Dubai and the Datejust...

Shelves are full of displays but no stock for sale why? Do we have to offer to pay up front or the super rich get 1st pick? Is this happening around the world?

I am in the exact same boat as you, owning a 126300 rhodium smooth bezel but really regretting not going for fluted. Did you sell yours independently then buy the fluted from the dealer? Im considering buying a genuine 18K white gold bezel and having it swapped for my current one (being aware it voids the warranty).
theplatytpus It would probably work out cheaper to sell your smooth bezel and buy it as a fluted as a whole..The warranty is useful especially with it being 5 years and some ADs extending it to 10.. Also I think it would be difficult to establish a genuine fluted bezel

You can check it with a VPN service and routing your search through an Indian IP address to check for Indian Prices on Rolex official website. It will be cheaper in the end. 🙂

Got the exact same one with diamonds, love it. Downside with diamonds is you don't see it in the dark.

I have to disagree, but it is totally subjective. Without the bezel, I would go with the Oyster. With the bezel the Jubilee to me is best.

Just put a deposit down on my DJ41. Ive got the same except on an oyster bracelet. Love the jubilee but I love the oyster a little more :) nice watch!
