just a suggestion: the chart should get more screentime since thats the entire essence of the show
Agreed, we’ve made that improvement in the Oyster Perpetual video. Thanks for watching
thank you!@@Watchtrader
The effort you guys are putting into content is brilliant great episode 👍🏻
Much appreciate the feedback Rob. We’re always trying to improve with the quality of content
I think you guys are talking non sense
A blue baton 41mm with flute and jubilee is only worth a few hundred quid above list!
Stop hyping the public to get on the band wagon
Excellent informative video ! Thank you both for putting so much effort into such a professional presentation of the DateJust 41 .
Hey guys BRILLIANT content! You're really pushing forward regarding creativity and information quality in general. And it's truly fun seeing you doing these "watch games" that surely bring dynamism to the watch world.
Cheers!
We’re glad to read that Victor and always appreciate the feedback. Until the next one 👊
Loved the content/info in this video guys!!!
Thanks for letting us know
Great video, really well presented by Harry, top work. 👍
Really appreciate the feedback 🙏
Thanks for the great video! Do you think a rolex 36 flutted bezel, jubilee brace with a blue motif diamond dial is worth it if my AD offers me one? Does it still trade above retail?
very informative, thanks for the video
Glad it was helpful!
Very very thorough!!! Keep this standard consistent
You got it!
Quite useful content thanks
Glad you found it interesting 👌
Great content! I would truly appreciate more of this tier-like content for the rolex range(s). Starting from the more simple builds- explorer I/II and Oyster Perpetuals. To the more advanced.
We appreciate the feedback. Stay tuned for more!
Loved this layout!!! The cards, discussion, all of it! Thank you for all the effort put in. Proud to say I bought my Tudor Harrods from WT&Co, and looking forward to my next purchase. Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback. You made a stellar choice with the Tudor Harrods. We hope it serves you well!
would be interesting to know the comparison to Datejust 36s as well
Great info - really clarifies a complicated market, & buying decision?
Thanks - appreciate the feedback 🙏
Very helpful thanks for making this!
We’re glad you found it interesting. Thanks for watching
Love it, thank you for making. Please do DateJust 36 next
Spoiler alert, it would be the same
I second the DJ 36 video
😂
Thanks, you give buyers the best info out there. I am very close to buying here in the states. I’m sure I will watch your videos several times before choosing the model I will ultimately buy. Im hoping there is a precious and 2-tone model comparison. That’s what I feel I will buy.
Glad it was helpful!
Love this ranking, so cool. I had crazy luck and an AD offered me a 41 blue motif smooth with jubilee while trying to get on the list for a Wimbledon smooth oyster (I am looking for lowkey) this weekend. That a B or strong enough for an A? Have until tomorrow to decide. Seems odd they would have that up for offer?
I ordered from my AD a 41” fluted with jubilee, black face, diamond markers. I am very excited to get it in Feb. or March! I love so many of these, but am to OCD to have a color face. If I was a collector, then absolutely! I only have two right now. Both are all yellow gold day date/presidential band, champagne face…one with diamond markers and diamond bezel; the other no diamond. Getting a white gold/steel with a black face and diamonds will be fun to switch up my options without having too many choices. I like a black dress jacket with a tee shirt dark jeans and a good pair of tennis shoes. The watch plus one necklace will be a great “out on the town” chic but not trying too hard look. The white faces pairings are nice, but with the 41, they look overly casual and stick out too much. Great review guys! 🙌🏻✌🏻
We hope your watch arrives sooner than you think! Sounds like you’ll have three brilliant watches to pick from.
The motif dial on smooth bezel looks great and not too busy. I actually just prefer the smooth bezel in general though.
great content
Thank you
Great job H 👍🏻
Appreciate it Chris
The dynamic duo! Billy would make for a great trio! Trifecta!
Thanks for tuning in 👊
Great info!!! I personally prefer the black dial, which is good for me since it's somewhat easier to get, but they're all lovely. DJ is a classic!
I agree. I like the Grey and silver with jubilee. A lot of ppl are influenced by resale of particular combos rather that what suits them.
It's all very well saying that you want a particular dial. You get what you are given!
What’s your take on the 36mm Silver dial with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet? Thanks
I understood, excellent
Glad to hear it!
Great video.
I may have missed it but where is the plain rhodium/ slate dial with fluted on jubilee ?
Thanks Mark - This one (one of the best looking) sat in the B tier
In my opinion, the best compromised variation is: fluted motif dial, smooth bezel with jubilee bracelet! It’s less expensive, retains an original key aspect (bracelet), with more interesting dial, without being too flashy, too shiny and over the top.
Great video for such an in demand and fun watch with a lot of variations. But I wonder why the oyster and smooth bezel blue face is in the B and C category.
Great video. Is Harry now sporting an all black GMT?
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, good spot 👌
Keep the videos coming. I love them all.
Glad to hear it. Have a great week!
I love it
I have (had) both the mint green DJ41 and the green fluted dial.
I sold the fluted dial. I felt it was too busy, trying too hard.
The mint green with fluted bezel and jubilee is such a gem. One of my favorites in my collection.
Sure, the fluted motif dial can be too much for some. Thanks for sharing
Amazing just got mine today
whats more in demand, green motif or blue motif in the S class?
How would you rank the motif dial with smooth bezel? Cheers
Motif, smooth, oyster sat in the B Tier
What is the different between blue and green in S and in A grade?
Great video! How would you rank the slate grey Wimbledon?
The smooth oyster sits in B and the fluted jubilee sits in A
Excellent video guys. I collected my DJ 41 fluted mint green dial 2 weeks ago and been wondering where it sits amongst other DJ market. This video has been very helpful 😊
Glad you found it useful 👊
Great content fellas! I'm curious - where does the mother of pearl dial rank on the list? Thank you
The mother of pearl dial isn't available on a Datejust 41 in steel so was not in the scope of this video - thank you for tuning in!
I haven’t watched this and I know it’ll be brilliant
We hope it delivers. Appreciate the comment!
I have watched it and it more than delivers. Thank you so much.
Please may we have one on oyster flex Daytona’s or even if your feeling generous the whole Daytona range.
I really enjoyed this and have shared it a few times and everyone loved it.
The sports models would be even more popular I reckon
What about the Rolex datejust Wimbledon two tone . What tier does that come into ?
We’ll look to cover two tone Datejusts in a separate video
Thanks for putting in the effort to make the video guys, but would have loved for it to be a digital chart, with periodic zoom ins to each tier just for visibility sake. Other than that, thanks for the info!
We appreciate the feedback. Check out our newer Oyster Perpetual video where we’ve implemented a number of those improvements
Ordered the mint 36 5 months ago, happy to get it sometime
The 36mm is a classic choice. Fine choice with the mint too 👌
For me the plain black dial with jubilee and fluted is the most beautiful everyday watch. Goes with everything
The black dial is pure class
Love this Review Video of the Steel models. I myself have the Green Fluted Motif on Jubilee Fluted. Saw it and had to have it. Waited a 1yr and glad I did. Would love to see this same review of the Two-tone DJ41 as that is my next move. Wish they would release in 2024 the 40mm DayDate with leather like they did with the 36mm 118318 and 118135... Love this review video. Thanks
Congratulations on your Green Fluted Motif Datejust and we appreciate you the feedback!
if I am ordering now a DJ 41 with white dial..does it mean I will get it quite quick because it is not really popular?
It’s not possible for us to know. Your AD is the best person to ask. Thank you
I have a 36mm smooth oyster fluted motiff in blue, where would that sit at?
We will look to visit the 36mm in the future
Thoughts on Wimbledon 41, yellow gold and steel, oyster bracelet, fluted bezel. Good config or would you always go Jubilee? And is the yellow or white gold more popular?
Jubilee is more popular at the moment. The steel with the white gold fluted bezel outperforms the two tone.
@@Watchtrader My AD has offerd the two tone fluted in jubilee bracelet, is that a buy or pass? Eventually I'd sell it if a steel/white gold jubilee came in, but for the time being a two tone jubilee seems too good to pass seeing as my AD has had just 1 wimbledon in 18 months.
If you want the steel and white gold, you can buy it pre-owned, in like new condition for less than the uk RRP of £12,700. If you must have it brand new from your AD, you could get the steel and gold and it will still hold good value. Then maybe at some point they will get a steel one in for you. It’s a decision only you can make ultimately because it’s based on your preference. Hope this helps
@@Watchtrader I went for it. Picking it up next week. Ok yeh it’s an underlist watch right now, but I’m not buying to sell. Something about the gold just works with the Wimbledon dial and reminds me of that beautiful Wimbledon trophy. I know gold isn’t for everyone, I get the appeal of the understated steel wimbledon, but I’m super happy to have the two tone on a jubilee. I’ll get a steel another time if I’m ever offered one. Or alternatively a green/blue steel motif if I’m lucky, I’d love one of those.
2 tone DJ41, Fluted, Oyster, Black dial... its a stellar piece. where would u rank it?
Can we make a daytona tier list from old model to new model
From the mop solid or two tone or dials and old model too
Remember these are selling prices. A dealer would offer 30% less to buy, lower still if he/she sniffs you're a forced seller. Personally I wouldn't pay a penny over retail for a Datejust. Times have changed. Most are available from the AD. I recently bought a white roman 41 fluted on jubilee on a walk in where I have no purchase history. The watch was in the window marked exhibition only. I asked for a try on since it's a watch I wanted (tier d or not) and was offered the watch to buy. A good episode but time to focus on watches not prices. We need an old hand like Hendo up front more on the videos. I'm sure he's as price conscious as the rest of you but it's not the first thing he mentions.
Hi, Harry here, firstly thanks for the thoughtful comment and congrats on your DJ purchase. To find the exact DJ configuration available to buy on the day must have been a great feeling! Ranking the dials like this only reflects the market opinion. The white roman is certainly no less of a dial than a fluted motif. Do you have a suggestion as to what other metrics we could use to compare the dials? Thanks for watching as always - take care
@@Watchtrader Harry you are right that money must talk. Perhaps you might keep a record of todays ratings and see what happens over time . As you mentioned the blue roman dial was hot compared to the baton blue, now not so much. Like most people I love the Wimbledon. It's amazing how its popularity has sustained. It would be interesting to see if some of the new hot dials have similar staying power.
Agreed, it will be interesting to look back on this in the future and see what developments have been made with regard to each dials popularity
Agree. There is way too much focus on what is selling at higher prices in the gray market. But I suppose that is what this channel and store is about. Buy the watch you like best - forget the hype around one dial or another.
Whilst I 110% agree with op and all of you lot as my fellow true watch lovers but I guess we need to remember these lads are literally “watchTRADER”…. Does a hustler by any other name hustle less hard? 😅🤦
You should have also mentioned about the 2 tone watches, gold and steel where they stand in the list.
That’ll be one for a future video. We couldn’t have fit them all on the board!
Great content .. what’s your opinion on a 2 tone 18k Rolex Dayjust Black Diamond Roman Numerals for 6k box& papers
36mm
Just bought 41 datejust oyster bracelet fluted bezel white baton dial classic style.
Congrats on your purchase
In the US the mint green dial with a domed bezel and oyster bracelet sells for more than the motif with the same combination.
Gee Weez, throughout this excellent episode, I was more fascinated by the little cards that look like they were made out of styrophone, than by what was being said! Which artist, among you, took the time to create these little colorful wonders? We could practically invent a board game, a kind of Monopoly for watches... Sorry, that's what was going through my mind during the whole episode :) Cheers from Montréal.
Glad you appreciate the cut and stick work that went into this one! Foam board was indeed used (5mm to be precise). The video team prepped it 👌
Have a great week!
The white and silver dial being among the least requested is baffling to me! Those are by far the most wearable.. Maybe when Rolex discontinues them people will start to care lol
They are super clean combinations - under appreciated for sure
White dial fluted bezel on jubilee is 🔥imho
How would you rate mint green smooth bezel with Jubilee bracelet
a great combo, my favourite too... I suspect quite in demand if chrono if anything to go by.
I have the black diamond dial at 4:12. Brand new 2023 model and paid $14,000 US. My fav datejust spec. Honestly surprised it was only ranked B tier
Had good treatment from Watford but I was convinced that the wait was engineered. I'm 80. I have the money what should I do. What did I do. I saw a nearly new and unworn year old 41 on the secondary market with fluted dial and a Jubilee gold bracelet on a colour I hadn't really "clocked". Slate grey. I don't do watch porn or house porn I just saw something and thought that's it and bought it.
3 months after the acquisition Watford called me and said. "We have your watch". I bought it. I kept it. Now it says something that I kept 2 watches that resemble one another in size and shape at leat. They are both stunners in their own right
Amazing, congratulations on your new watches. What dial did you get on the second watch?
How would you rank Datejust 41 Steel & White Gold Fluted Bezel Grey Slate Dial Jubilee M126334-0014 ?
Also, if I may suggest, please make a table with model number in content,
Motif is stunning dial 👌
I did not see the Wimbledon dial here. Where you you rank it?
A Tier for Fluted Jubilee and B Tier for Smooth Oyster. Check out 5:45, thanks
Oyster smooth dark face for day, jubilee fluted light face for evening.
Job done.
This guy knows what he likes! Thanks for tuning in
Does this aply to the 36mm datejust?
Those are different, we’ll look to make a video on those in the future
@@Watchtraderwhen???
Azzuro is very popular in U.S. also somewhat difficult to get. More of a B or A on your list.
Appreciate the insight David. Can’t say we’re surprised, it’s a beautiful dial - just funny how the trends move
You forgot about the fluted dial that is now discontinued. Most valuable DJ by far.
Cracking video, cheers all
Our pleasure!
I’ve got Datejust 41 blue dial fluted bezel and oyster bracelet, which tier that my watch should be in? 😂
I have a dj41 mother of pearl with diamond markers my first Rolex
Beautiful dial 👌
Gray Rhodium, Smooth, Oyster. That would be my personal pick.
Motif dials go better with smooth bezel and jubilee (which fits to the dial),
not too busy like with flutted bezel.
Left off the most luxurious one that needed to be special ordered from 2016 - 2023 - Completely hand made dial with hand set diamonds - AD advised that an average of 7 dials broke before Rolex got each one right. (Lots of labor involved.)
Also 1 of 1 for each one as no two Mother of Pearl dials are the same.
Rolex discontinued it with the Green dial 18k Daytona and blue dial 18k grey gold Daytona.
Gentle reminder that the most Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41, in my opinion, is the actual one made from an Oyster / Mother of Pearl.
Straight away glance is silver yet from other angles is blue / purple / teal / orange / red / yellow.
The DJ 41 MOP dials were way less scalloped than 36 or 31mm so the 41mm is smooth and silver 90% of the glances (unless it's at an angle where the colors explode).
Thanks for sharing that. We’ll bear it in mind for the next one
why is the DJ a beginners rolex ? I only buy DJs, I love them. Maybe a skydweller as well. very interesting, thanks guys
i got the s tier last year in blue wonderfull watch
I think it needs making clear that these prices are what Watch Trader sell at to the public not what they will pay you for the watch. For context I offered them a brand new unworn watch from the AD in the B category and just got offered the RRP by John
Hi, thank you for the feedback. We are talking about how the market values the different dials and configurations. We will take note and hope it can be clearer next time
I got the Dj 41 blue fluted in a Oyster brwclet instead of a jubilee.
Personal preference, great watch either way 👌
@Watchtrader yeap, exactly.. i just think there's to much going on with the fluted and jubilee..together
I got the green fluted dial with the flat bezel. I wonder where that ranks on this list.
Your talking about the oyster vs jubilee rifht?
@@Rshen11 no. The dial. Two colors (thus far) have a fluted dial: blue and green. They speak about those dials towards the end of the video. I got the green fluted dial with a flat bezel and a jubilee bracelet.
@@Kcseales ohh okay fluted motif.. got ya
@@Kcseales i got the regular blue fluted with the oyster.. motif looks nice
A 41 w/ the white dial, fluted bezel on jubilee 🥰🥰🥰
This is exactly the reason why normal folks have to wait for years to get their hands on a datejust. Please stop this money making and let watch collectors be!
The reason normal folk can’t get a Rolex is cause of Rolex
more of this pls. datejust 2tone next time? 😊
Thanks for the feedback. We can cover two tone in a future video 👌
Good video different. Still think prices will come down, and you will be able to pick them up from ADS the market is changing.
Time will tell - thanks for tuning in
azzuro looks 10 times better than the regular one
the order of the rankings seems fine but the premiums seem quite a bit to high in the current market
Wimbledon hands down best 👌
Prices are coming down and soon you will no longer need to buy on the second hand market. No watch is worth above retail.
Great video though.
Thanks for sharing
S tier content - should do this for OP
Thanks for the feedback JJ. We can make it happen 👌
Why the gorgeous datejust MOP dial is not common in EU market?
Didn’t c my Wimbledon 41 fluted with oyster on chart hmm
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you 🙏
mint green and Wimbledon
Let’s do this 🍿
Quick off the mark 👊
Love your content. Small wish here... If you want to Show a big Picture of numerous watches, id like to see the watches/overview more than 2 secs before it switches back to you guys. Makes no sense to me, like to look at the overview, while you can talk over it
We really appreciate constructive feedback like this so thank you. We will take that on board for the next one 🙏
I think it's just me but I find the wimbledon dial hideous! My fav one is bright blue dial with jubilee (the one mentioned in tier A)
It should be made clear that these prices are what the great market is trying to sale them for. This is NOT what they are paying to watch flippers who think they can make a quick buck buying these watches for the soul purpose of selling them to someone else. Grey market dealers know the market is crashing so they don’t want to overpay for these watches. They are offering less then retail for most and if you’re lucky $100 net profit on the most desirable configurations. I hope flippers get the message. They will be holding bricks if they keep doing what they’re doing. A lot more inventory is about to hit AD’s for the holidays. I would exercise some patience and get on the list.
Best for me is blue motif on a jubilee with a SMOOTH bezel, perfect balance
Interesting combination, fluted can be too much for some
What are your thoughts on blue or green motif dial smooth bezel, oyster braclet?
Which tier can a Datejust Palm-motiv be in?
That dial isn’t available in the 41mm size. You’ll find that in the Datejust 36
@@Watchtrader ah, sorry. I forgot that it's 36
I think anytime you do the fluted dial, you should do the flat bezel. The fluted bezel with fluted dial has too much going on.
Thats what i did..I got the Dj 41 blue fluted in an oyster braclet instead of a jubilee. it's more sporty.. With the Jubille it looks to busy..
I have the rhodium grey with fluted bezel and oyster
@Akeixbsl oyster is heavier and just feel stronger.. for a man i just think that's a better strap
I have oyster, president and jubilee all 3 have their pros and cons, i love them all
@@Akeixbsl true depends on the watxh
Would love to se this for Op as in reality this is a popularity lisa
Thanks for letting us know. Stay tuned and we’ll make it happen 👊
