I think you guys are talking non sense A blue baton 41mm with flute and jubilee is only worth a few hundred quid above list! Stop hyping the public to get on the band wagon
In my opinion, the best compromised variation is: fluted motif dial, smooth bezel with jubilee bracelet! It’s less expensive, retains an original key aspect (bracelet), with more interesting dial, without being too flashy, too shiny and over the top.

Remember these are selling prices. A dealer would offer 30% less to buy, lower still if he/she sniffs you're a forced seller. Personally I wouldn't pay a penny over retail for a Datejust. Times have changed. Most are available from the AD. I recently bought a white roman 41 fluted on jubilee on a walk in where I have no purchase history. The watch was in the window marked exhibition only. I asked for a try on since it's a watch I wanted (tier d or not) and was offered the watch to buy. A good episode but time to focus on watches not prices. We need an old hand like Hendo up front more on the videos. I'm sure he's as price conscious as the rest of you but it's not the first thing he mentions.
Hi, Harry here, firstly thanks for the thoughtful comment and congrats on your DJ purchase. To find the exact DJ configuration available to buy on the day must have been a great feeling! Ranking the dials like this only reflects the market opinion. The white roman is certainly no less of a dial than a fluted motif. Do you have a suggestion as to what other metrics we could use to compare the dials? Thanks for watching as always - take care
@@Watchtrader Harry you are right that money must talk. Perhaps you might keep a record of todays ratings and see what happens over time . As you mentioned the blue roman dial was hot compared to the baton blue, now not so much. Like most people I love the Wimbledon. It's amazing how its popularity has sustained. It would be interesting to see if some of the new hot dials have similar staying power.
Agree. There is way too much focus on what is selling at higher prices in the gray market. But I suppose that is what this channel and store is about. Buy the watch you like best - forget the hype around one dial or another.
Whilst I 110% agree with op and all of you lot as my fellow true watch lovers but I guess we need to remember these lads are literally “watchTRADER”…. Does a hustler by any other name hustle less hard? 😅🤦
Thanks for the great video! Do you think a rolex 36 flutted bezel, jubilee brace with a blue motif diamond dial is worth it if my AD offers me one? Does it still trade above retail?
Just picked mine up today from Wos. 41MM Wimbledon dial, roman numerals, on a Oyster. I could have had the jubiliee, but prefered the Oyster. It is a beauty
I ordered from my AD a 41” fluted with jubilee, black face, diamond markers. I am very excited to get it in Feb. or March! I love so many of these, but am to OCD to have a color face. If I was a collector, then absolutely! I only have two right now. Both are all yellow gold day date/presidential band, champagne face…one with diamond markers and diamond bezel; the other no diamond. Getting a white gold/steel with a black face and diamonds will be fun to switch up my options without having too many choices. I like a black dress jacket with a tee shirt dark jeans and a good pair of tennis shoes. The watch plus one necklace will be a great “out on the town” chic but not trying too hard look. The white faces pairings are nice, but with the 41, they look overly casual and stick out too much. Great review guys! 🙌🏻✌🏻
The white and silver dial being among the least requested is baffling to me! Those are by far the most wearable.. Maybe when Rolex discontinues them people will start to care lol
This is exactly the reason why normal folks have to wait for years to get their hands on a datejust. Please stop this money making and let watch collectors be!
Loved this layout!!! The cards, discussion, all of it! Thank you for all the effort put in. Proud to say I bought my Tudor Harrods from WT&Co, and looking forward to my next purchase. Cheers!

Had good treatment from Watford but I was convinced that the wait was engineered. I'm 80. I have the money what should I do. What did I do. I saw a nearly new and unworn year old 41 on the secondary market with fluted dial and a Jubilee gold bracelet on a colour I hadn't really "clocked". Slate grey. I don't do watch porn or house porn I just saw something and thought that's it and bought it. 3 months after the acquisition Watford called me and said. "We have your watch". I bought it. I kept it. Now it says something that I kept 2 watches that resemble one another in size and shape at leat. They are both stunners in their own right
Thanks for putting in the effort to make the video guys, but would have loved for it to be a digital chart, with periodic zoom ins to each tier just for visibility sake. Other than that, thanks for the info!
Great video for such an in demand and fun watch with a lot of variations. But I wonder why the oyster and smooth bezel blue face is in the B and C category.
Thanks, you give buyers the best info out there. I am very close to buying here in the states. I’m sure I will watch your videos several times before choosing the model I will ultimately buy. Im hoping there is a precious and 2-tone model comparison. That’s what I feel I will buy.
Great content! I would truly appreciate more of this tier-like content for the rolex range(s). Starting from the more simple builds- explorer I/II and Oyster Perpetuals. To the more advanced.
Left off the most luxurious one that needed to be special ordered from 2016 - 2023 - Completely hand made dial with hand set diamonds - AD advised that an average of 7 dials broke before Rolex got each one right. (Lots of labor involved.) Also 1 of 1 for each one as no two Mother of Pearl dials are the same. Rolex discontinued it with the Green dial 18k Daytona and blue dial 18k grey gold Daytona. Gentle reminder that the most Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41, in my opinion, is the actual one made from an Oyster / Mother of Pearl. Straight away glance is silver yet from other angles is blue / purple / teal / orange / red / yellow. The DJ 41 MOP dials were way less scalloped than 36 or 31mm so the 41mm is smooth and silver 90% of the glances (unless it's at an angle where the colors explode).
I think it needs making clear that these prices are what Watch Trader sell at to the public not what they will pay you for the watch. For context I offered them a brand new unworn watch from the AD in the B category and just got offered the RRP by John

Love this Review Video of the Steel models. I myself have the Green Fluted Motif on Jubilee Fluted. Saw it and had to have it. Waited a 1yr and glad I did. Would love to see this same review of the Two-tone DJ41 as that is my next move. Wish they would release in 2024 the 40mm DayDate with leather like they did with the 36mm 118318 and 118135... Love this review video. Thanks

Excellent video guys. I collected my DJ 41 fluted mint green dial 2 weeks ago and been wondering where it sits amongst other DJ market. This video has been very helpful 😊
Roman numeral watches have declined in grey market value because as you speculate, the market might feel that’s a bit old fashioned. Not 2 minutes later you confirm that the Wimbledon dial is one of the most popular dials. It’s a Roman numeral dial. 😑 The colors are great though!

@@Rshen11 no. The dial. Two colors (thus far) have a fluted dial: blue and green. They speak about those dials towards the end of the video. I got the green fluted dial with a flat bezel and a jubilee bracelet.
Datejusts....above RRP. Thoughts on Wimbledon 41, yellow gold and steel, oyster bracelet, fluted bezel. Good config or would you always go Jubilee? And is the yellow or white gold more popular?
@@Watchtrader My AD has offerd the two tone fluted in jubilee bracelet, is that a buy or pass? Eventually I'd sell it if a steel/white gold jubilee came in, but for the time being a two tone jubilee seems too good to pass seeing as my AD has had just 1 wimbledon in 18 months.

In the US the mint green dial with a domed bezel and oyster bracelet sells for more than the motif with the same combination.

Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, good spot 👌
When adjusted for currency between the UK Pound and the US Dollar, these prices shown on the final chart at 8:54 seem way too low.

Totally, however it is quite interesting to see how the market values the differences
why is the DJ a beginners rolex ? I only buy DJs, I love them. Maybe a skydweller as well. very interesting, thanks guys
Gray Rhodium, Smooth, Oyster. That would be my personal pick.

Can we make a daytona tier list from old model to new model
From the mop solid or two tone or dials and old model too
I did not see the Wimbledon dial here. Where you you rank it?
A Tier for Fluted Jubilee and B Tier for Smooth Oyster. Check out 5:45, thanks
How would you rate mint green smooth bezel with Jubilee bracelet
What is the different between blue and green in S and in A grade?
great content
Thank you
Pls do one for GMTs
That one will be coming 👌
I think it's just me but I find the wimbledon dial hideous! My fav one is bright blue dial with jubilee (the one mentioned in tier A)
more of this pls. datejust 2tone next time? 😊
Thanks for the feedback. We can cover two tone in a future video 👌
I’ve got Datejust 41 blue dial fluted bezel and oyster bracelet, which tier that my watch should be in? 😂
I understood, excellent
Glad to hear it!
Cracking video, cheers all
Our pleasure!
if I am ordering now a DJ 41 with white dial..does it mean I will get it quite quick because it is not really popular?
It’s not possible for us to know. Your AD is the best person to ask. Thank you
I think 🤔 all the DJ including the Wimbledon 41 fluted jubilee steel would sell soon under retails a Rolex might even consider discounting them.
