I knew this reveal was coming, but it still hit hurt. Plus I actually think this was better done here. In the comics Abby only ever met Alec as the Swamp Thing; she never KNEW Alex Holland, so when this reveal happened it was a shock to the Swamp Thing, but Abby herself just didn’t care that much. Here she fell in love with Alec and was working to cure Swamp Thing and bring him back. It means a lot more to both of them to learn he was actually dead. I seriously cannot believe DC or WB or whomever cancelled this masterpiece.
Cancellation On April 17, 2019, it was announced that production for the series had been unexpectedly cut short due to creative differences with DC Universe's parent company WarnerMedia, thus reducing the original episode order from 13 to 10 episodes. Further reports stated the series had been canceled due to budget shortfalls after the expected level of tax rebates offered by the state of North Carolina were substantially reduced. A representative from DC Universe stated that the streaming service was being re-evaluated and that there were no plans for a second season. When asked why specifically the show was canceled, the spokesman responded, "Unfortunately, we are not in a position to answer at this time." Mears described the cancellation as a "heartbreaker" and felt the decision to cancel the show showed a "lack of respect" on DC's part. He added that members of the production had been told up until the cancellation "how amazing everything was... So it's a weird nebulous space that we're all in now because we don't know officially why that would happen, or why they canceled it." In mid-2019, a movement with the hashtag #SaveSwampThing began spreading on social media shortly after the series was cancelled in an attempt to save the series. Mears also showed his support of the movement. With The CW network acquiring the broadcast rights to the series, The CW president Mark Pedowitz did not rule out the possibility of renewing the series for a second season, saying, "that would be a discussion for Warner Bros. and the CW. But at this time, Swamp Thing is just the episodes we have." In January 2021, Pedowitz said it was unlikely the series would return on The CW but did state there was a slim possibility of Swamp Thing appearing on other Arrowverse series, such as Legends of Tomorrow.
He wasn't per se. They just used footage of the show on the new multiverse's montage to establish this show on the new Earth-19 (previously the Earth of Gypsy, Breacher and H.R. Wells).
CW or someone needs pick this series up it had so much potential this would been a awesome series if CW held like it was dark but so well done. Wow that ending.
From what I learned, when Alec Holland mutated and became Swamp Thing, it's not actually him. It's just the mutated plants that merged with him thinking it's him. It's like you just found out that you have been living someone else's life this whole time, thinking that life was yours.
You know what bugs me about this is the body of Alec hasn’t had the time to deteriorate that much since swamp thing appeared so I still believe Swamp Thing is Alec Holland, cuz for a body to deteriorate that much to show no meat on the skull and bones that the Genetic makeup of swamp thing had to come for Alec himself but this is a very different telling of Swamp Thing then the 1982 movie and the The Return of Swamp Thing movie
rip series and derek mears career too ..but hey don't worry big guy i'm sure you be lucky to play the role of jason again..sigh well for new few years i guess.

In April 2020, a television series centered on the Justice League Dark characters was moving forward for HBO Max, with J. J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson serving as executive producers.

Alison had a lot to do with the location it was filmed people were complaining
His voice sounds so emotional and deep with a little gruffliness in it
For the final episode I want it to end him saying “I...am...swamp thing”

I heard great things about swamp thing 😊 & they cancelled it 😕 Muppets absolute utter Muppets 😕👎
The real monsters it's the people
So that's why on poster Swamp Thing was holding corps
I didn't know that Swamp Thing is not Alec Holland
From what I learned, when Alec Holland mutated and became Swamp Thing, it's not actually him. It's just the mutated plants that merged with him thinking it's him.
It's like you just found out that you have been living someone else's life this whole time, thinking that life was yours.
makes no sense in the first episode you could clearly see his body turning into swamp thing taking on the transformation or it sure looked like it was
You know what bugs me about this is the body of Alec hasn’t had the time to deteriorate that much since swamp thing appeared so I still believe Swamp Thing is Alec Holland, cuz for a body to deteriorate that much to show no meat on the skull and bones that the Genetic makeup of swamp thing had to come for Alec himself but this is a very different telling of Swamp Thing then the 1982 movie and the The Return of Swamp Thing movie

Best scene in the show.
