    I am planning on getting a 90 gallon tank in the near future. These filters look amazing. Considering that the Fx6 is only about $100 more than the Fx4 I might just spend a little more and get the Fx6. Overkill but you can never have too much filtration in my opinion.

      What kind of fish do you plan on getting? I would think in most cases you'll be ok with the fx4 unless its chiclids

    im not sure whether to go for an FX4 or an FX6 for a 240 Litre (52 gallon) tank of Cichlids? would the FX6 just be too powerful?

    Hi, can you show if you know how looks water flow inside FX4 or FX6? I would like to put Purigen inside and I wondering where is final filtration inside / final, before water will leave canister?

    Hey fluval is it possible to use a in line co2 diffuser and a inline heater? I don't want to end up dropping all that co2 in at once after the purge? And I want water that keeps temp as level as possible! Thanks in advance for the advice

    Pls help me, I have a brand new fx4 and it is below the aquarium. It ran fine for 1 week and spits out air. Despite cleaning it even. So upset this shouldn't be an issue. It just keeps going on and on like it's trying to prime itself. I tried unplugging it then plug back in and nothing works. Is my intake too long. Maybe not pulling enough in? 😭😭😭😭😭

    • @maxefforts
      @maxefforts 6 років тому

      Gina Goth no Gina that's not the issue with the length of the tube it would still work if you didn't do any cutting there something wrong with that filter exchange it and just get a Sunsun 403b and save yourself money.

    • @maxefforts
      @maxefforts 6 років тому

      Gina Goth it does take a while to prime you did put water in the filter before you close that correct? I have an fx6 it's a great filter it's a bit overpriced but you shouldn't be having issues like that.

    Setup correctly for a full cycle fx6 is only around 500lph a huge two thirds less than what fluval says.shocking!!!!!

    • @willeymunda

      How do you know that? so would you say the FX6 would not be too powerful for my 4 foot 240 litres tank of cichlids?

    Help. I have a 65 gal tank, about 16 fish; (angels, disc, bala sharks) My Fx4 filter has been running now for 3 weeks, my NITRATE is still high. I did a 25% water change 2 days ago and the levels are still high 40ppm.. help..

    • @faucetcouch9591
      @faucetcouch9591 6 років тому +1

      Cristina Ann Cruz a filter isn't going to reduce nitrates. Water changes will. Make the water changes larger like 50% and your nitrates should be cut in half. Feed moderately, if they go up again quickly then you need to find out where the nitrates are coming from, like your gravel or you simply feed like a maniac and need to cut it out.

    • @michaelmarquez6133
      @michaelmarquez6133 6 років тому

      Ok, I have discus and angels and I used to have bala sharks, I also have a 65 gallon tank so I believe I can help here, first I would keep those bala sharks, second depending on the discus size like if you are trying to grow them I understand feeding a lot but my discus have grown awesome and during the week I feed maybe every other day once a day that reduces nitrates and doesn't starve them them so how much you are feeding matters a lot, also I do water changes at least twice a week due to the discus it is easy for them to not due well I also I use RO water and for me that works but it is not necessary always but if you use tap i would air ate the water for days, I have very low nitrates and my fish are healthy and I use a marineland 360 canister rated for 100 gallons if you would like to see my tank I have it on insta let me know thx

      @JasPlun 6 років тому +1

      Test your water source 1st and foremost! Sometimes you can have Nitrates already in your water system. If you do report it to your water provider. If it is not your provider then your either feeding way too much, over stocking your tank size (Should be 1" of fish per gallon of water), and if you do not clean out your filter media it can become a nitrate factory! Follow the directions for your filter on when and how to do maintenance on it:P

    Time for a new upgraded model. Enough of these silly bells and whistles and gimmicks. Seriously you guys have been milking the cow way too long . FX seven or whatever you want to call it you need to do something and upgrade that motor, 563 gallons per hour supposedly with just basic media? Not that impressive for a canister well over 300 bucks. And what is up with this notion that it supports aquariums up to 400 gallons anyone knows what they're talking about knows that's not true. If you put in fx6 on a 250 gallon tank without any other filters you're gonna be struggling with a basic fish load. just about everyone I know that has 200+ tank has two fx6 on it. it really is such BS, 563 gallons per hour which is probably not true and that out-of-the-box because if you're thinking that motor is strong as it was two years later you're only fooling yourself.

    • @michaelmarquez6133
      @michaelmarquez6133 6 років тому

      Dang you have left a couple comments already hahaha just make your own using a five gallon bucket, your own media, and some polyester quilt batting and a pump of you choice if you dont like these filters, I have a marineland 360 that was a return so I got super cheap and works good for me

  • @maxefforts
    @maxefforts 6 років тому

    Not rated up to 400 US gallons it's like you're almost just making things up what's the real gallons per hour clown with media and it???? So damn misleading this company.
