Mike Wallace was also an advocate for depression research, and a great guy. I wrote him after I saw him addressing Congress for depression research funding. He wrote back, by hand, and even sent an autographed business card. Years ago, The Far Side comic strip did a spoof of Mike Wallace interviewing the Devil. It was a joke, but if anyone could have gotten an interview with Satan it would have been Mike Wallace. Thanks for everything, Mike. You left us WAY too soon.
There is no better tribute that a son (or daughter) could give to their father. Thank you Chris Wallace for your candor and eulogy to your great father. I watched Mike Wallace for decades on 60 Minutes, and loved every minute of it. Also...I'm missing my Dad, who passed in July 2011. Our Dads leave us with a lifetime of great memories.
Thank you, CBS, for posting this. I’ve been on such a Mike Wallace kick today and have seen so much incredible footage, some stories felt like old friends I’d not seen in ages, others, totally surprising, shocking, wonderful! Mike was as much a ham as an intellect. His integrity never wavered. What a thrill to see the reactions of his subjects when asked the hard questions. His son, Chris, as others note, is his own man, not by any stretch in the shadows of dad. Chris has superb DNA and has proven so, time and again. His tribute to dad brought tears to my eyes. At the end of the day, before and after anything else, we’re all imperfect human creatures with beating hearts and beautiful minds.
It’s a rarity that ANYONE actively searches out Truth in this world. To find both a father AND son who devoted their lives to the seeking of truth is a blessing and honor. We are a lucky nation and I hope that we can perhaps find the truth together.
Mike was the best interviewer on television there are many great ones but he's head and shoulders even the folks who hated him know he was the best in the business
Dear Chris Wallace I only now saw your tribute to your father. Mercy me, I have been consumed by life it seems. Belatedly, I express my sorrow for yours and everyone's loss. If interviewing were an Olympic game, Mike Wallace would have taken all the gold medals, every time. His presence. His tenacity. His skill. His obvious preparation and knowledge. All unmatchable. And something to watch. I loved him for all of it yet I imagine perhaps a part of your grief was for the father you didn't have, in him. I know such a loss. And Chris, for you. I confess as a later-in-life Democrat, it pains me a bit that you are on Fox. HOWEVER, admittedly I cannot think of a better place for you to be. I commend you yoo for your skill, talent, professionalism, astuteness and decorum, just to list a few of your qualities. Takes character and a sharp, talented mind to deliver as you do and as your father did. All the best! Respectfully,
Why Mike Wallace''s son would settle for Fox News (entertainment) is beyond me. Chris Wallace is so much better than Fox News (entertainment). Not his father but the next best anchorman we have now without Walter Cronkite. Fox News (entertainment) makes Chris Wallace looks like another Ted Baxter from Mary Tyler Moore and he's so much better than that. He's real.
Even though Mike Wallace was a white male, he was still a lovely human being. I know everyone in media these days hates people just for being born white and male, but I reject that. Actually, I'm sick of it. My husband was murdered by 2 black men, but I don't hate black men for that. I respect Mike Wallace. Thank you, sir, for all you did for so many. I'm so sorry your memory has been tarnished by Millennials who hate white men regardless of their actions, behaviors, or character. What a world we live in.
Ayn Rand interview was interesting. She was uncomfortable discussing objectivism while he grilled her on the golden rule and the moral shortcomings of her fast and loose jungle philosophy. At some point liberals will have to take inventory of their own nature ( sensibilities) and what that means objectively.
I will always imagine a day when Shep Smith and Cris Wallace run hand in hand through a lush flower patch away from the Empire of Evil and towards any self respecting news source.
Holden Caulfield How does Wallace not have integrity. being around the people of Fox News but still being the only one who makes sense and being a realist, he certainly has integrity.
Chris, I'd bet that your daddy is looking down at you, while shaking his head & saying .,.. that boy wasn't to be, the best part of him ran down his momma's legs...
Chris Wallace is right up there with Rachel Maddow, Donna Le'mon and Fredo. Actually, I think I just gave Chris Wallace more credibility than he deserves.
I applaud anyone who can give a eulogy. I’m a puddle just listening. To be able to get through just one sentence is an act of courage and strength.
I can't even attend a funeral. I'm too hyper sensitive. I'm in tears watching this...
Mike Wallace was the reason I studied journalism. He was so professional and good at what he did.

to soon? he was 93...
Oh my, how wonderful. How touching that he did that. Mental unwellness it is mighty thing to deal with.
Oh my and what an interview it would have been!! :-P
@@ethanwashoe5868 I agree with @MrCzechers!! Mike Wallace was a great man, but a not so great hubby lol
Chris, you dad would be so proud of you!
Susanne Osolin and he would be a guard dog against Trump for disrespecting his son.
Theres only one Chris Wallace and that was Biggie Smalls
No. He wouldn't. He'd be absolutely ashamed.
I love that I see Mike Wallace's face so much in his son.
Chris' shaky voice tells me how much he loved his dad.
Very emotional & heartfelt tribute from his son...loved it:)

What a son to father tribute!!! Both are News Icons!
I Miss "Real Journalism"
Thankfully there's still a little bit of that out there. Standing before you, you are watching a prime example
An emotional tribute from a great son to great dad. Chris is wonderful person, I consider myself very lucky to meet him in 2010.
beautiful. From the heart.

Chris favors his Dad alot..
I'm shuddering with emotion watching this , a son talking about his beloved father.
Chris Wallace is not his father, but he doesn't have to be. He's his own person, and I can accept that. That was a wonderful tribute to his Dad.
But he got them FANGS like his father!!
It’s a rarity that ANYONE actively searches out Truth in this world. To find both a father AND son who devoted their lives to the seeking of truth is a blessing and honor. We are a lucky nation and I hope that we can perhaps find the truth together.
Him and his late father are amazing journalists.
Mike was the best interviewer on television there are many great ones but he's head and shoulders even the folks who hated him know he was the best in the business
Can't believe I never put two and two together.. It all makes sense now.
Chris Wallace ,like father, like son. Born journalists that have given us so much.
man o man...honesty and truthfulness and realness must be in this family's genes...!
so beautiful...
Heaven us for Heroes, R.I.P.
Mike would be really proud of Chris today also.
What a great Eulogy
What a beautiful heartfelt eulogy
Wow obviously they both loved and respect each other Mike Wallace was an icon may he rest in peace!
Great tribute but Chris is nothing like his dad
Mike Wallace was awesome. Not a fan of Chris, but it's nice that he sees the impact his dad's gift was.
One of a kind, journalist.👍
R.I.P. Mike Wallace, you are missed.
Thanks, Chris.

Well said! Thank you for expressing this for Many of us
The GREATEST of the great . . . nothing else need be said.
but one other thing, Chris . . . you are NOT, even close to his ability.
I did not know this? Wow.
When news wasn’t social media.
how on Earth did Chris Wallace ever end up on Fox with a legacy like this??????
What a compliment from your Dad.
Great video.
A good man. One of the few journalist left today. And only journalist on Fox.
Ed Wrong. Brett Baier is another and that is two more than CNN has.
@@SWalker71 very correct
😭 Well done!

That was beautiful
Chris isn't a patch on his old man, and he proves it every Sunday.
HIS Father, is why Mr. Chris is so messed up.
I hope Criss ‘s son follows his footsteps
Only one Mike Wallace. RIP
Did anybody notice that when Chris said why it sounded exactly like his father?
I thought I was the only adult who gets choke up when talking about their deceased parents.
I bet Mike would be disgusted with Chris. He's such a sellout.
Even though Mike Wallace was a white male, he was still a lovely human being. I know everyone in media these days hates people just for being born white and male, but I reject that. you're so full of nonsense
I have nothing good to say about Mike Wallace.
Fifty years old guy still living in the shadows of his father
Both are extraordinary men with golden hearts.
Excellant
Chris Wallace is not his father for sure.
Ayn Rand interview was interesting. She was uncomfortable discussing objectivism while he grilled her on the golden rule and the moral shortcomings of her fast and loose jungle philosophy. Father, good man. Son, POS.
I loved Mr. Wallace
He forgot his father had a sliver of integrity unlike himself
Holden Caulfield How does Wallace not have integrity. being around the people of Fox News but still being the only one who makes sense and being a realist, he certainly has integrity.
Chris is a Dem in Rhino clothes, but I'm glad he loved his father.
His Dad has to be very disappointed in his son...
Chris, I'd bet that your daddy is looking down at you, while shaking his head & saying .,.. that boy wasn't to be, the best part of him ran down his momma's legs...
There was a real journalist son kinda, sold out.
Well what happen to you lost your i fairness. Honesty & values, you should never do a depate again Jim Agousta @ you are bottom feeders
Both liars and washed up reporters
Chris Wallace is right up there with Rachel Maddow, Donna Le'mon and Fredo. Actually, I think I just gave Chris Wallace more credibility than he deserves.
You are not your fathers type of reported.. you have lowered your standards
Your Dad would have been ashamed of you today .do some things . educating poor children.just talk talk do nothing
Your word's like newspaper no value
Chris Wallace is pushing ridiculous left wing talking points. But at least he loved his father.
Stop the left wing and white right wing defense if you are a Christian stop the bull God Is Watching You
hahaha. wonder who is more ridiculous between you and Chris.
Blow bag
