Good work Dave, though I have to admit you had me puckering a bit with the hole saw. I could just imagine one of the teeth not being sharp enough and catch a thread on the back of the material facing and just twisting and not cutting straight through, especially with a low battery. You made it work, even though your heart wasn't in that speaker install from the git go. One of these days you need to show a quick tutorial on the procedure on how to remove the door panels. I've seen some nasty edge cuts from people fishing around the edges with any old screwdriver they have laying around. See you next month, buddy!
Yes! The pre-assmbeld panels are absolute garbage! I hope more people see this so they wont be disappointed like my friends were with the 1st gen Camaro pieces they bought. I ended up removing the vinyl from the junk, and reusing the metal pieces from the original panels. It took days to do all four panels. Also, the felt pieces are just as bad. It seems all of the resto stuff is that way, it either needs reworked, or just thrown away. Garbage. I feel your pain, and i also absolutely refuse to do resto work on bid, no way.
Correct those door panels were not cheap for them to fit so bad was just unacceptable. But the manufactures don't care because it all that's available.

They just don't make thing like they used to. Good job at making do with what you have Dave.👍
