I was aboard this train during the Milwaukee Road Historical Association annual Convention as you chased it on Saturday. You might have gotten a shot of my head sticking out of one of the baggage cars as the consist flew by. I sure I was standing right along side of you while videoing the run by. My video is quite similar to yours. I'm thrilled to have found your work of this Milwaukeee Road chase, and I'll be forwarding the link to friends of mine in the MRHA. Thanks for publishing this video!
2019 sure was great for me since in August 2019 I went and visited the friends of 261 myself, got to see, touch, go inside 261's cab and take a piece of coal from her tender back home with me to my home state since I have family in Minneapolis, Minnesota which is where my dad grew up. Also I think that whistle on 261 matches her completely and I hope to see 261 again in 2020 for one of her excursions which my dad actually doesn't mind at all
Hello from Pennsylvania. Very nicely shot video. I’m not much of a steam fan (juice and traction are my taste), but after being inundated by the UP double-header steam extravaganza, here comes Milw 261 chugging across MN. I can’t tell you why, but I like the MILW locomotive much better: neater, cleaner lines, more simple. Just a better looking engine. Many thanks. CAS
Hi, very nice video! I was on the train that day. Just a quick note re locations...Kenwood is a neighborhood in Minneapolis, it's not a town. (BTW it's where Mary Tyler Moore's character Mary Richards was supposed to live in the 1970's "Mary Tyler Moore Show".)
I figured as much but I also thought it would be more specific than just “Minneapolis”, especially with another clip at a totally different location that could only be described as Minneapolis later in the video lol Thank you!
@@RunninEight why thank you hope I get to here it myself when I try to see her again in 2020 since I visited the friends of 261 back in august and am planning on seeing her again next year and that my dad grew up in Minneapolis and that he enjoyed seeing it. And I'm still surprised when I saw 4014 last month he still liked seeing 261 but that's just his opinion
Don't be sad 2816 will be back and running agian sometime in the next few years once the Canadian Pacifc decides its time and have enough money to restore the Hudson

Great footage! Love to see that 261 is running a lot these past years! I noticed the Killdeer birds chirping and photoboming your shot at 6:11 haha

Charles Shivoder It has a lagged smokebox which reduces the clutter around the front end.
Very cool chase video.
have you heard of the 4-6-4 Hiawatha.
Shame I couldn’t get out and see it, woke up the entire west side of EP
Great video man! I see you shot a few spots I wanna aim for IF I get to chase her this year.
261 may be running sep 21,22
Great video! Could you assist me on the location of the last clip in the twin Cities? Thanks!

Great Video
Steam fan from Hertfordshire, England. Is the line ,just a preseved line?No Amtrak, National Freight. No intermediate station e.g.Cologne.
It's an all freight shortline, which BNSF has trackage rights over, I think, and shortlines have always been extremely steam friendly.
Roolish good luck
Hell yeah bro
Nice video
Anyone know what kind of whistle that is on 261?
ATSF 6 Chime I believe

Runnin' Eight it wasn’t too comfortable
crazyrailfan1000 you had to be there to understand
Yeah you had to be there to understand the mystic tale of the great kenwood tree
I'm from Canada. All we have is CP 2816. R.I.P. Me

NICE!
@@atsfevan0242 That's actually great news because I heard that the CP 2816 is still alive and will come back to life on the rails soon!! :D
Imagine paying money to be in the skytop just to be looking at the tail end of a diesel engine the whole time
