My wife did the same thing with her teeth, just pushed them back to where they were supposed to be and our dentist said she did the right thing. He didn’t have to do anything and they’ve been fine ever since! Stay safe and well, Lee!
Good job repositioning your teeth. I have often recommended to my patients when an emergency comes up and they can’t get into the office that they do the same thing. Often a popsicle stick or just your fingers- and light pressure-as you’ve done will work. At least enough to get through a bad situation. Having the niteguard was ideal as it gave you a check to verify the position of your teeth. Well done. And remember that if your teeth are in contact during the day you are grinding. Helps to build that into your awareness and you’ll grind or clench less. Thanks for the great videos. First time I saw you play was 1970 or 71 at the Kennedy Center with James Taylor.
Hey Leland, we met briefly a few years ago when you were in Vancouver with Lyle Lovett. We arrived at the concert very early and we relaxed in a small seating area to wait for the concert doors to open when you popped your head around a backstage door. I just said hello and we got into a great conversation about bass players and music in general. As a fellow bass player (admittedly I'm not a very good one) it was a highlight for me, and my wife. When you had to leave you asked us to give you the finger for a photograph...it was epic! You were so incredibly kind to take the time to say hello and engage in a great conversation, something I'll always remember. Take care of yourself Leland and hopefully you will visit Vancouver again!
Looking better every day Lee! Glad your teeth are back in line but it may be a good idea for a dentist to have a look. And remember to always take care of your self or you won't be able to take care of anything else. Hi everyone!
If you can knock it out of position, you can push it back. I (agree with and) love your approach to life in general. You look 100% better in just a short time. No wonder everybody loves you.
An orthodontist braced and squeezed and pushed and pulled on my teeth to create a nice smile. Makes sense that you could make it somewhat of a diy project! Keep up the good work.
Amazing DIY that you are so naturally good at! I believe that boxers regularly do what you did to move your teeth back to normal. Thank you for your willingness to be vulnerable. I am certain that your quality of willing vulnerability has helped you be such a great musician and such a beautiful human being. Thank you, I so happy that you are going to be okay. Peace
👍👍Looks way better than even yesterday!!!! Reminding me of Mom again: when I was a kid I remember her story about somebody who corrected her front teeth by pushing on them over time.... It's amazing how troubling even a small tooth change can make to the feel and mesh of the whole works in there. Your strategy was brilliant! More power to your bite guard!!!!
Living life vicariously through you, my teeth now ache in sympathy. All the continuing best to you - and thank you for sharing your time with this caring community!
Lee, you take care, you are a gem. So good to see you getting better again. You are an inspiration to us old guys - born in the 1940s.😄 From Co. Clare, Ireland
Man, dude, I thought I was the only man crazy enough to do his own first Aid, I've had few broken bones through the years that I've set and fixed on my own. I have a whole new level of admiration for your courage and self determination now, cause I know what it takes to take responsibility for yourself like this when many people would freeze in the wallow of self pity and fear of negative consequences. Glad to hear that you are feeling better.
You are certainly a force of nature! I don’t know how smart it is to do yard work with a sprained wrist though but it obviously makes you happy. Don’t overdo it because we need you around for at least another 1000 videos!
Congratulations for the 2 "Audience Choice" Awards. You must have large, healthy gums !! Good for YOU !! You are speaking so much clearer than before !! No More Slips or Falls !! Respect -
Thank you Leland, for decades of your superb craftsmanship served up to the whole world in the humblest of ways. You sir , are a national treasure, a musical icon. God Bless you.
Congrats! on the wins....I don't catch myself with my hands anymore, I try to roll...got to take care of yourself. The guard is a good idea while it's healing after your dental work. Thanks Leland
Glad you were able to work your choppers back into place enough to be able to wear your night-guard as a retainer. I never could get used to trying to sleep in a night-guard & more than a few times I found them down by my feet in the morning when I woke up!
Congrats on getting your teeth adjusted Lee. As a person who suffers with TMJ I can tell you from experience that there are many things you can do yourself without a dentist that can bring you relief! 👍
I’m so glad you’re recuperating, and fixing your own teeth - wow. That is excellent! I understand about TMJ and the problems that causes. The night guard will keep your teeth fully aligned til they’re not going to move into the wrong places again. Stay healthy, Leland. You are loved, and so appreciated ~~~~~
Hey Leland don't forget about Tony Dow's sculpture. Maybe you can discuss his likes in music and art as well. How you met him etc.. Looking forward to it.
So many of us are going to feel better that you are doing a lot better brother. Sounds like a “Tool Time” episode from ‘Home Improvement’ last night with your teeth. Congratulations on the awards. ‘Enjoy every sandwich’ means so much more now after getting older on the weekend and sadly losing friends. Take good care brother and enjoy every moment. 👍🖐🇦🇺🙏
@@artemisXsidecross l was thinking about our recent discussion on the cowbell which l remember hearing on a Pink Floyd song and had to listen to Pigs(Three Different Ones) and heard it clearly. Loving science fiction particularly the earlier movies like The Forbidden Planet l actually love another magnificent instrument..The Theremin. Have you ever seen anyone play one of these.?🖐👍
You are a beast. Your teeth was what I was most worried about. Then you fixed them yourself. Doing dental work on your own mouth. There is nothing Lee can not do. Thanks for the great update. Love, Prayers and appreciation always.
So glad you are on the road to full recovery Lee. You are healing really well. I can relate to the night-guard. I too notice if I miss one night without it, my teeth will have shifted.
You know, I love your music career and you are a great bass player and, yadda, yadda, yadda. The humanity of you checking in every day alone, with us, for us, is worth more than anything you've done on that bass. Please keep yourself healthy! 🙂
Well I had an accident many years ago where a front tooth got knocked back. The doctor pushed it back into place and held it in place with wires and resin for six weeks. It worked. Yeah, you can't wiggle too much or the teeth become loose. Looks like you did the right thing. Glad to know you are doing better! All the best!
You look much better today. I’m not religious but I have to think that a higher power doesn’t want you to stop creating all the positive energy that you exude, you are a greatly appreciated and needed gift to all of us who watch you and or come in contact with you. Take care Sir, from a fellow senior and former LA studio rat happily living the rest of my days here on the central coast of California. Again take care and hydrate!!!!!!
Leland, you rock in all the best ways! Good for you for your positive attitude and managing your own health where you could. Wishing you a full recovery; don't push too hard, you're on the road there! I saw you with Lyle's Big Band in September and it was a huger highlight for me in a concert that was itself a huge highlight. Take care of yourself. 🤗

What can’t this man do, he plays a mean bass, a book author, a video producer and even does his own dentistry. You are a gem Lee. 🦷
He's a genuine inspiration, isn't he? His philosophy on life is one I want to start to incorporate more into my own.
@@steverussell7645, so true!
Right lol he's clearly not human 🤣 😂
He ought to get those hands insured by Lloyd's of London though
