Cool! I'm really glad to have young people get into this and help them appreciate old stuff too. I got the collector bug about the same age. If you let me know a name and what they collect I'll try to do a shout-out sometime
@@TheAntiqueNomad he collects 1960’s troll dolls. He can tell you all about them too. Theo actually knows most the vendors at a few of the local antique malls that sell Trolls and will request to go there on weekend to see if they got anything new.
Absolutely love these voice-over videos! That plastic light fixture reminds me of “my precious”! I revamped a 1989 Vagabond camper and although not much was salvageable, I did clean up and re-used a very interesting plastic ceiling light chandelier. Everyone remarks on how interesting it is and they notice it right away. Something about that cascading plastic that really whisks us back to that era!!
@@TheAntiqueNomad Yes! And lucky for us, we keep it in a tourist-y midwest town with incredible auctions and antique stores. Makes it all much more fun!! Love all that I am learning by watching your channel, btw.
Fun video. Been to Sturgis for the little... lol motorcycle rally. Which is huge. I haven’t been able to hit many antiques stores there. Would be fun tho.
Love Flashback Fridays. Beautiful painting of Mount Hood. I can see several mountians peaks of the Cascades from my house including Hood. Love seeing something from my neck of the woods. :)
Fyi, I love the oil can lamp, and I'm a 56-year-old female! I like the shape of it, and think the colors are fun. I also love the lime green color you showed us. My hallway is VERY lime green, but it cheers me every day.
Another great flashback! There were some tumblers on a shelf just over your shoulder, at 10:10, that caught my attention. The camera was focused on you, so they were a bit blurry and I couldn't tell what the pattern was. Do you remember if they were the McKee Glass "Wild Rose with Bowknot", in the frosted Goofus Glass? I have a pitcher and am looking for tumblers to go with it. If they are the "Wild Rose with Bowknot"...and they happen to still be there...I'd definitely be interested in them. Great video and love the commentary! Always a ton of interesting information in all your videos! Thanks!
Awe I’m sure he isn’t from this area so you’d prob have a better opportunity traveling there to check then him 😂 also filmed a long time ago but good luck.
Ah, good to know! You should honestly contact the antique mall in Sturgis, Kentucky directly and have them send pictures, they do a lot of online and can help you I think.
And you get to see what you missed or passed by. Maybe if you go back there they will still have some of the missed items and especially the Roseville! It was beautiful what I could see. So much of it in one place! Sweet!
I've done some good antiquing there and did a video a few months back about a good Mall in Cleveland, TN. I haven't really Thrifted there but I'm looking forward to it
Very fun video! I have the panther lamp, and I’m glad to know now, that it was designed by Royal Hickman. Do you know what company it was that he designed it for?
I'm an old trout, shocked to see my normal kitchen described as vintage when I began to watch these American vids. Soon I will be making christmas pies with my rolling pin, goodies out of endless tupperware containers from the pantry, my besties side hussle in the 70s. Love from new zealand George, and thank you as always.
Hi George, great video! I enjoyed walking around with you. I'm going to have to take a holiday after the storm blows over to visit some of your favorite spots. You make them all seem so interesting. When I was about 4 (1954) my dad got me a pinball machine I don't know why. He would loan co-worker and friends a few dollars and sometimes they paid him back with "things". Maybe that was it. Anyway, I wound up down in the basement with a full sized pinball machine, which he took the legs off of, and a nickel. I only had the one nickel so I was a veritable wizard! When I got into grade school and started playing marbles at recess I used the steel balls as my shooters. I was deadly. Ahhh, the good old days!
That's an interesting way to have been exposed to all this! I always wanted my dad to buy a pinball machine. I love them still but as a dealer, they're too heavy to deal with for one guy
My business partner would always laugh because I'd bump into people while helping at our estate sales and antique shows! I never broke anything that way, though (I have broken things in other ways).
Seeing your head floating on the screen reminds me of Wheel of Fortune back in the early 80s. Do you guys remember that, when the winner would spend their money in a showcase?
George is awesome and gives lots of information. He travels, one of my favorites is at a antique show in Florida. Take a look at the Crazy Lamp Lady. She’s so much fun , shares a lot too.
@Keith Spencer In one of his videos, he shows us through his apartment in Florida. It’s cool with all his favorites and great stories to go with it. I didn’t know about his other places. He’s a cool guy.
Heisey is great stuff! I just haven't found a good collection to highlight. They went out of business in 1957, so they're a little farther back in time and not recalled as much by this generation of collectors
I think he filmed the original video before the pandemic. This is a new thing he is doing Flashback Fridays where he looks back at videos from some time back and makes new comments.
As the other viewer said, this is an update of a pre-pandemic video. You are welcome to keep making these comments but you might consider watching so you understand what I'm doing first. I explained to you previously that I wear a mask when social distancing is not sufficient, but I remove it to speak to the camera IF it's safe to do so when no one is around. I've done many videos, several shows and estate sales without getting sick or passing anything along, so I know it's possible. Remember that editing means you aren't seeing everything I'm doing, lest you misjudge.

Thanks George, it was fun !!! 🎉
I have never seen a flashback Friday video before. Looking forward to this 😊

Such interesting things George. ThThanks for vid 💕
Thank you, I thought this one was fun too!
I love the green Fenton lamps!

Your right George, I saw lots of lovely old furniture as you walked through and also noticed many wonderful pictures on the walls you walked by.
It's interesting to me to see what I missed. That's why it's fun to go back to shop the same places time to time

Chinoiserie ..! Thank you for pronouncing that style for me. I’ve loved the wallpapers and linens I’ve seen.
It's not so phonetic! It's a lovely style for those treatments.
Thanks for sharing again ! My mother had a white cat shaded blue like it. I hated it. A lot of nice things there.

That's funny, I just saw the word chinoiserie today and wondered what it meant. Well, now I know! Thank you George.
