Hi ! The very beginning of the video , you are in my booth ( with the stained glass windows ) ! Thanks for featuring our fabulous Mohawk Antiques Mall 😊😊😊
That is awesome! Please tell the people there we did this video and to share with their friends and dealers, I'm glad you had such pretty windows to catch our eye
Upstairs are apartments and downstairs is an antique mall? Where has this place been all my life? Those busts and panther had me salivating! Thanks for the adventure, George❤
Good evening, George. I like those Blackamoor figures in the green. I have a pair of lamps...packed away in a closet. The small tin toy boats, on the top shelf, caught my eye. Love the ice crusher. I used to have several of them, but sold them when I moved here. I have a couple clear, embossed Queen Victoria Jubilee pieces. I really liked that plateau mirror, and I have a place I could actually use it. Lots of interesting items there, and the prices didn't seem too bad, either. Thanks for taking us along!
Hi there! I wish I'd gotten two, but I was happy with a single! Tin toys pre-WWII are especially fun to me, even the penny sized versions I find fascinating. I only kept one ice crusher but have had several, they always catch my eye. Queen Victoria is a popular embossed glass subject from that time, surprisingly I haven't seen any of her in awhile! I always look for plateau mirrors and will seek another for you. New York does have some older items, and it makes it a fun shopping place! Great to see you here
@@TheAntiqueNomad Those tin toy boats get my liking for pond boats activated. The boats and aeroplanes are what interest me most. I wish I'd kept, at least, one of the ice crushers I used to have. I have a few pieces of Queen Victoria pieces here. There's a pottery pitcher and tumbler here, with her image on it, too. A plateau mirror the size of the one that was there would be perfect to put a Fenton _Orange Tree_ water set I have on it. I enjoyed seeing what was there!
I started collecting vintage barware in the 90s. I brought some to the states with me and added more to my collection here. Got glasses and the holders along with a few traveling cases that have barware in them. They hold a bottle and glasses and other things in them. I have a set from East Berlin that I bought before the wall came down in 86 still in the box in my bar.
I worked in Utica in the late 80's to early 90's and never thought about antiqueing at that time. We'll have to check this place out when we go back to visit next.
Hi George. What fun finds. On the top of my Christmas list from my son is a membership to your channel. He asked what else, I added a gift card from a local bookstore. 😃 Great job, per usual 🎄
I have been looking for things from my childhood. One Christmas my sister and I got some tin UFO space ships that had lights and wheels you could rev up and make it go like a car on the floor. Must have been the very early 70s or late 60s. As an adult, i collected O gauge Lionel trains with my dad.
Oh I remember those, they were cool! I had a friend with one but I never got one. Love Lionel trains too, I had an HO gauge set and was member of a model railroad club as a kid
Wow! You're in New York again. Hope you made it to Canandaigua and it's Ontario Mall antiques.....it's New York State's (2nd?) Largest co-op and it has incredibly high quality merchandise. With it's proximity to Corning and Alfred and Rome, I always find an abundance of Steuben crystal, Glidden pottery and Chase brass/chrome items on offer.
I would love to visit this place! I tried to have an antique booth for two years it is a lot of work moving things in and out and maintaining. Occasionally I would miss a previous label. I am sure they appreciated your help. I guess it is just a hobby , you showed some very good valued items. Vintage vs antique, tastes really do change a lot.
Tastes do change! It's fun to do as a hobby, and you learn a lot selling in the real world...it's not exactly the same as online, and it is real work, but it gets easier with time (especially if you theme each part of the booth so you don't have to rethink it all the time).
Like most antique malls, it's pricey in some booths and then there were real deals in others. I just appreciate that they had good things worth looking through to find the bargains!
Hi, George! The little leather box @15:28 is actually not from Russia or USSR, but from Bulgaria. It says on the tag that it was made by the Union of Bulgarian Artists in Sofia. Bulgarians also use Cyrillic alphabet, well, in fact, they created it. 😊
I should've bought those, but I didn't! Contact Mohawk Antique Mall directly, they might ship them. If you do see me buy something in a video that you want, email me at theantiquenomad@gmail.com with a time stamp and I'll let you know if it's available
The Horseshoe pattern glass platter is actually "Prayer Rug". Here is the information: PRAYER RUG (AKA) • AKA: Good Luck; Horseshoe; Prayer Mat; Wheelbarrow • Adams & Company (Pittsburgh-PA, Company Operated: 1861-1891), Introduced: 1881 Introduced
George I just watched a murder mystery movie last night. An the murder weapon was hidden in a Pink Samsonite suitcase just like that. ( frame 28:37 ) Funny, the next day your showing one in its original box ! :~)

That is so cool! I have collected barware for about that long as well. I think the pre-wall set from Berlin would be fun to see
I miss Sandi! She needs to swing by my way next summer.
She's a lot of fun!
The fiberglass shade will look awesome on that lamp
