Now I want "peace soup with darling bread"
Peas on Earth, goodwill to men.
@@Circuitssmith LOL
The whole world could use that meal.
Have you ever seen the bumper sticker that says 'visualize whirled peas'? Cracks me up.
Open a little restaurant...name everything this way😊✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
From now on I will be calling Garlic Bread by Rana's name for it , Darling bread! That does look a very hearty soup!
These guys win the whole internet. They are beautiful beings and pure in spirit. God bless them and thank you!
My exact same feelings.
I love watching them enjoy all foods. Absolutely love all of them.
We also eat this kind of soup in Sweden every Thursday. They serve this in in schools, hospital, elderly homes etc. every week on that day. After the soup they serve Swedish pancake (without bakning soda) with wipped cream and some jam. In Sweden the soup is also serve with mustard and some thyme.
So this soup is for children, the very old and sick people?
They need to try surstromming. 🤣🤣
That is very interesting that they all eat it on the same day!
P.S. Love Melander is the best
Surströmming Expert on UA-cam :P
New subscriber here, from the state of Georgia in the United States. Gotta say that these good people are becoming as family to me. Such happiness is a wonderful thing to see. And, I love split pea soup. I get canned soup and always add whatever fresh veggies that I want into it, usually carrots and potatoes that I've cooked first. I would love to see them enjoying one of their beloved foods with a piece of roti! Thank you ever so much for introducing the world to these most excellent gentlemen! May peace be ever with all of you!
Your profile pic is so very lovely! Peace and love to you from England
😬
I also would love to see these guys eat some local food with Roti.
Something that they rarely get to eat but can enjoy on the channel as we enjoy watching them eat it....please?
hope western people got awareness like you, and I hope your government stop bombing and destroying other countries
Every time I see these men, they always put a smile on my face.
Appoint them humanitary of the world🙏
I am glad they are enjoying their split pea soup and garlic bread! It's making hungry watching them eat
Glad they liked. Garlic bread is delicious
Split pea soup is Dutch, from the Netherlands, colonist brought it to Canada. It is winter food.
I think the Quebecois might disagree.
More likely....
Peas, lentils, pulses and grains were staples in most diets, european and indigenous North America, and elsewhere.
The early French Quebecois voyageurs and fur traders learned much from the North American indigenous people, including the necessity to travel light but sustainable.
Hence, pea soup.
It’s actually from all over the place, it was popular in Ancient Greece and Rome. And as we know the romans went to most corners of the ancient world and probably introduced it to the natives.
I think it originated in Darude sandstorm
My Kraut ancestors also had it... Erbstsuppe.. it's quite ubiquitous I don't think you can pick who actually invented it with any actual historical accuracy.
@@GreatestCornholio You know crap. You have the intellect of Beavis. Romans only conquered Europe and a tiny bit of north Africa and a little western bit of the middle east. Romans were ignorant of most of the planet.
Mr. Chaudhary has the right of it: split pea soup is just like a more blended dhal with broth. Split pea soup is usually made with yellow peas, but green peas are good, too.
Oh how I’ve missed the tribal guys!!!
I was in hospital for two months…well, the hospital for 6 weeks and acute care rehabilitation for 2 weeks. So, now I have a bunch of videos to catch up on. Time for a Tribal Ppl Try binge-fest!!! 😊❤✌🏻
I hope that you are feeling better
Pea and Ham soup is a huge favourite in the UK
Hell yeah. Its the best. Need a toasted bun with lots of butter too
The cameraman didn't try this either? Move over, man, and bring me a bowl! Yum!
I think it's time to show them some videos of how diverse Canada is and that it has 4 distinct seasons😂
Yup, beautiful sunny early spring day here, no snow and above freezing. Next week 23 Celsius 😊
One of my faves, might have to make for dinner now.
Much love to all!
I am Canadian, this is a super good soup! 😋 Thanks guys!
Split pea soup is said to have originated in both ancient Rome and Athens.
You are the first person to actually know the facts! Pea soup is probably over 2000 years old !
Thank you for another wonderful episode. I love watching you all. This is my favorite show on UTube.
That's right it is one of the oldest national dishes here in the Netherlands. Cool to see it is eaten in different countries as well!
I would like to see tribal people try British rice pudding, or tapioca pudding. :)
Rice pudding is too fucking good
Better homemade but if it's from the store, the big size container is empty in one go...and if you mix it with a cans of Devon Custard....🤤😋
ua-cam.com/video/_It5qopgPZs/v-deo.html
Especially since they created both of them in India.
Mmmmmmm rice pudding. With loads of cream and nutmeg 🤤
Split pea soup is the Canadian version of a pea soup that probably did originate eons ago in Europe or wherever, however Canadians have our own version....which is very delicious btw🇨🇦
Pea soup was introduced by French-canadian millworkers in the 19th century' and was made in ancient rome.
It's usually made with yellow split peas, the soup here looks too dark
It’s a staple here in northern England too.
These videos are so fun to watch.
Be safe & much love ~
I love how they all looked at it with blank faces when it was served like 'what in the heck is this'... Hahaha
If you ever have a bad day these wonderful gentlemen will make you smile. I believe Rome was one of the first countries to start making the soup… I know we do here in the U.K. as well. Delicious on a cold day with “darling bread” 😊
Having been a sub of this channel for many months and watching practically all of the videos on it, I recognize the value of innocence, naivety and simplicity. I regret having seen behind the curtain of life and being influenced by it. Somethings should not be known, seen or done by man.
Ignorance is bliss?
Sometimes
This was a regular winter dish for me growing up in Maine. My first thought was that they may not like it, but it looks very good as you added carrots and potatoes. When I saw the garlic bread I thought, well now they will be right at home eating it dipped into the soup. That is the way I like it too. I now know to drink lots of water when I eat bread. Cheers to TPT!
split pea soup , is similar to Indian DAL (lentils).
Habitant Pea Soup with smoked ham is a staple in my pantry. Best thing on a cold winter day.
My guess is there is no ham
@@chaddejarlais4642 Yeah these guys have eaten a number of dishes that normally have ham or pork initially but it's replaced with chicken.
Why mix ham with peas? God made the body to process plants and not meat.
@@guru6831 Traditionally, pea soup is made with yellow split peas and a ham bone is used to give flavour and richness to the soup.
@@chaddejarlais4642 yeah in theirs I'm sure. In Canada it's common.
In Finland we don't put carrots in that, but we like to put honey mustard and diced raw onion. And that is usually eaten on thursdays
I'm curious - Why Thursdays? Is that a national tradition or something like that?
@@jamesritter5078 there is few theories why. One is, when Finland was part of Sweden in the 1500's, Gustav Wasa, The King of Sweden got bored to eating that soup and ordered the common man to eat it on thursdays. And other is, that on fridays people fast, so they wanted to be full and ate peasoup on thursdays. And not so fun fact: that soup was funeral food for Savonians (eastern Finland)
@@Skege1000 Wow - Really divergent theories. Thanks for sharing.
@@jamesritter5078 no problem 😊

Oh my. Now i want some split pea soup and garlic bread!
So do I!!!
Darling bread!....
This channel keeps getting better and better. I still think you guys should brand TPT frozen meals with traditional Pakistani village dishes. Curries freeze and reheat really well and I bet people in the west would love those flavors. And you could raise money for the villages selling them.
#BrillianT!!! 😍
Fantastic idea. I'd be a customer.
now that is a v good idea!
Omg, yes!!!! I'd love to try their food 😋
That soup looks sooo good! It always amazes me how they can pick out the spices that are used..😊❤ I think we westerners have eaten far too much processed foods. 😕😕
Agree.
Westerners have lonG been into growing, selling and eating natural foods now so let's not reach too far in that arena hunz!
@@nikkirockznikkirockz8551 absolutely!! And not diminishing or denying that in any way. 😊😊 . Just meaning that less & less are eating "real", healthy, uncontaminated foods. To our own detriment. 😕😕
@@cherylcobern4483 Understood! 😉
This is also a very very Scottish dish. I think it went to Canada via Scottish settlers lol 😂😂😂
This is truly my most favorite soup, followed by new England clam chowder.
Love you all and God bless ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Split pea soup is a big deal in the Maritime provinces in Canada😊. Thick, hearty & warms the body on those cold days when the wind blows harsh & fast.
Enjoy it 😊
Tahir has no idea how warming it is in the Maritimes😊
I put more peas than other vegetables when making this, and I put it through a fine sieve to make the texture smooth and velvety. It makes a difference. The garlic on the bread is a part of the flavoring and I always serve it with this soup for dipping. Looks good though.
Driving from LA to San Francisco and back, I remeber seeing a gigantic sign on I-5 that read "Andersen's Split Pea Soup, ahead 200 miles" the sign had a funny looking cartoon of a chef doing a downward chop swing with a big butchers knife trying to split a pea sitting on top a butchers chop block... I drove past the place many, many times... even stopped at the gas station next to it, I never tried it. Always wondered what it taste like. Now I want to taste it big time.... Love you guys
Now I'm going to have to make some. I think I have all the ingredients already.
I have loved pea soup since I was young, there's just something wholesome and warming about it. Spinach and spring peas were the only vegetables I would eat as a kid, so the first time I tried split pea soup I was in love. Never tried it with Darling Bread though (love that name, Mr Rana!) so it looks like my next batch I'll have to try a bit. Yet again, after a hard day at work, I can come home, make my dinner, have a bit of whisky and just relax with some of the most pure and true humans on the planet. Blessings upon you guys!
Our Canadian yellow-split pea soup is yellow in colour and traditionally made with chunks of ham. It's delicious on a cold winter's night for dinner. Served with crusty bread with butter. A hearty meal.💖😋🥣🥄🍞
One of my top 10 favourite meals in the world! Never expected to see such a delicious and humble dish on this amazing show! So, so good! These guys are one of the best things about UA-cam! Love the work you do on this channel! ❤️
You really should try the Dutch version with smoked sausage and rye bread: erwtensoep met rookworst en roggebrood.
Split pea soup is very popular in Ireland, goes back a long time.
Pea soup eaten in the United States, is mainly dried split peas rehydrated.. flavored with ham, bones and bits of ham, carrots, and onion…… and always eaten with some type of bread, my family preferred cornbread…. As always peace, love, joy, and hope to you and yours.❤✌🏽☮️🤲🙏🇺🇸🇮🇴
I use split green peas to substitute 'mushy peas' for my Fish 'n' Chips! I'm a Brit in Canada (40 yrs now) and had to explain to some Canadians what 'mushy peas' were😂 they thought it was green peas mashed... It's Marrowfat peas (bit like beans) same as Mexican have refried beans (mashed) made from Pinto beans.
Fun watch! Another "thumbs up" from me. 🧡
Thanks for sharing this with us love these guys God bless happy Easter 🐰❤❤❤
God bless you brother, the owner of this chennal
you are among some people portraying our true culture, and to show the world that we are pure and lovely people
How I make split pea soup.
Add cold water and dried split peas, laurel leaves, some pork chops, some thick slices of bacon and som cuts of beef into a big pan and boil it, once boiling put the heat low and let it simmer for about an hour. Meanwhile chop celeriac, carrots, union and a potato into small (dice size) chunks. After about an hour take out the meats and add the chopped ingredients. Chop the meats into smaller pieces (not too small) and remove any bones (if they are in the chops). Add the meats back into the soup and let it simmer for an other hour. Then I add some dried vegetables bouillon and salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for half an hour and lastly add some choped parsley and simmer it for an other half an hour remove the laurel leaves and enjoy your meal
I always enjoy these gentlemen. So adventurous enjoying their experiences in good humor.
It is always a joy watching these gentlemen enjoying the food they are trying.
Pee soup is one of my favorite soups... Make some and brought it to a friend at work who's never had pea soup... She loved it and one of the recipe. But it's very easy to make.
The English even have a rhyme for it. Pea's porridge hot, peas porridge cold. Peas porridge in the pot 9 days old
Besides the sweet treats, i think they enjoyed this the most. ❤ i would too. It looks very thick n chunky
I love split pea soup and make every Fall. Mine must have ham, carrots, onion and lots of cumin, also using chicken stock really boosts the flavor. Ideal on a cold evening! Next time I am in a restaurant I will request the darling bread!
I love split pea soup. It’s very easy to make, and you can spice it up with various vegetables and spices. Some people will put meat in it as well. I have, but I generally don’t see the need. It’s a very robust soup all by itself. I do like to spice it up.
Chaudhary made the same face as my kid the first time eating it 🤣 he ended up liking it too, but that face was priceless
We used to eat split pea soup with a grilled cheese sandwich and dip the sandwich into the soup. Yummy.
By far the best peaches I've ever eaten were from Canada, Ontario province. The size of softballs and super sweet and juicy. Absolutely amazing.
In America, it is the Dutch, Pennsylvania Dutch, that are famous for their Split Pea soup.
Pea soup is originally an ancient Greek/Roman dish, although your particular recipe may be Canadian.
I am Canadian. My late mother used to make this soup. It is my favourite soup! My younger brother used to call it "sand soup", but I love the slurry of split peas in the bottom of the bowl! Serve with bread, butter and cheese.
Dutch split pea soup (snert) is undoubtedly beyond any other.
This is my all time favourite soup, and I'm glad these wonderful men enjoyed it. I've had it with garlic bread in the past, but I prefer it with French bread.
Nice video. We also learn from things shown on this channel. Great job guys.
In the southwestern area of the United States we do a very similar soup using lentils instead of split peas. In warmer climates lentils grow better and can be stored longer than split peas.
There are so many variations of the meals you try , im a chef in West Michigan and would love to see these 4 fine men try my variations of everything you give them , i bet Mr Chaudhary would cry at my confectionery skills❤️
The best variations have pork, so no.
This dish did NOT originate in Canada! It originated from the Flemish/Dutch people long before Canada was a country. It'singredients vary for personal taste. My family cooks the dried peas in lots of chicken broth, garlic, salt to taste, black pepper and diced shallots. My mom, who was half Dutch, sometimes added diced turkey ham. Here in the USA, it's often served with a hot, grilled cheese sandwich to dip, like that garlic bread. I love a sharp cheddar on my sandwich and maybe some American cheese. SO good!
I'm glad the gentlemen liked this soup! .
They have been making this soup in Quebec for over 400 years. There are many ways of making pea soup, the French Canadian variety has yellow split peas, carrots and onions with ham bone and a few spices.
@@mrdanforth3744 much longer than that in Europe.
@@TruthTroubadour-xi9cc So eat your crappy green pea soup and we will keep the good stuff.
I love MY split pea soup 🍲
A good winter soup, served with warm bread! Fresh peas are eaten, but they can also be dried to use in later seasons, and soup made from it.
It is not Canadian, It originated from Germany.
Theirs certainly looks better then the way I have had it. It also has far more ingredients in it. I also never had it served with garlic bread.
But at this point I can't even remember the last time I had it. I know its been more then 23 years ago. I may have too make some for myself someday.
What I am used too was vary basic. It had dried split pea's, that were boiled. Then it was cooked for several hours. With a ham hock, some scraps of ham meat, a lil it of bacon fat added for flavor. With a bit of salt and black pepper as well.
What I had in the past far more resembled, what the Brits call mushy pea's.
It's missing the most important ingredient, PORK!
No doubt pea soup was made all over Europe before America was discovered. But the French Canadian variety is different from what you describe, made with yellow split peas and carrots and onions. It is quite delicious.
It's done a variety of ways. I make it with ham and the ham bone with carrot, celery, green and red bell pepper, onion, bay leaves, black pepper. When the peas are soft i add the potato and simmer til tender. I freeze some for an easy meal another day.
Glad they enjoyed! I like this one, and I’m gonna go make garlic bread now, thanks for the idea!
Have a good weekend!!
They should always have a drink with their meal!
I'm Candadian and grew up eating this my whole life! Our recipe has all the veggies cut much smaller or blended down. More of a soup consistency
I love your friends and family that you host on your videos! Darling bread😅 God bless him!
I love split pea soup. My mother used to make it with ham, and delicious bread for dipping.
I like it with sourdough bread❤❤❤❤❤❤
I add a bit of meat and veggies to a lot of soups, with a slice of bread, its a meal, so much easier than multiple pots n pans, frying stuff etc. 1 pot hot water soak, 30 seconds or less to clean up. how simple is THAT! dont want a sinkful of dishes/pots/pans etc. Spend my energy/time playing sports instead.
Now try jamaican red peas soup❤🇯🇲
We have been eating split pea soup in Australia forever. My mother made it for our family of 8 in the 1960's.
We ate it with a spoon but always dipped buttered bread in to clean up the bits leftover
Dutchsinse on UA-cam is warning Pakistan for somewhere around a magnitude 7 earthquake coming...(I think he said 7), so heads up!
Love the music you're playing while the men eat.
Very much a hearty soup for the Canadian winter
I love a good bowl of split pea soup. my grandmother used to make it so it reminds me of her :) I like to cook peas till they are soft and blend them in the blender with a cap full of olive oil or even sesame oil and it makes for a very creamy soup. (you season it too but that's the base)
have they ever tried : wanton soup? matzoh ball soup? french onion soup? I think I'm hungry lol
Gotta have buttered cornbread. I crumble it into the bowl and put the soup over.
❤ Love these guys!❤
Hello 👋 😁
I love pea and ham soup on cold winter nights, I break up Scottish oat cakes and put them in the soup, they soak up the liquid to make the soup thicker and more hearty. I also eat my oat cakes with butter and cheese like one does when eating cream crackers.
That soup looked delicious, and well done to the cook/chef. Is it he that researches the dishes and recipes?
nope its dutch pea soep staple dutch soep not from canada
Well seeing how they were serving it in Athens circa 500 B.C.E. I’m going to guess it’s not originally Dutch.
Pea soup was a staple food in Europe before America was discovered. But Quebec has its own style of pea soup made with yellow split peas.
Pea Soup goes back to 500 bc. No need to eat the Canadian kind for the real experience. Also I am super jealous, I love split pea soup.
Soup looks good, split pea is my absolute fave of alL and it's too bad that they don't eat ham or bacon with it becuz that'd be the ultimate taste enjoyment of the combination!!! 😍
We had pea soup at least twice a month in the winter, when I was growing up... always with mom's fresh garlic rolls or cheddar bay biscuits (slightly spicy cheese scones).
Bravo....TPT men. Nothing like a good bowl of soup. Cream of Tomato is my favorite.
I don’t think I’ve ever had split pea soup with potatoes and carrots. It’s probably better that way though.
Canadian pea soup has yellow split peas, onion, carrot, and salt pork or a ham bone. Plus chicken or vegetable stock, seasoning, thyme, salt, pepper, maybe a bay leaf. You can add celery if you have some, or leave out the ham if you prefer. But the basis is always yellow split peas, carrots and onions.
Blessed Love Family ❤️💛💚As a half Canadian I approve this video❣️
Funny. I had no idea it was from Canada though 😂
Mr.Rana….yes sir. It is darling bread. It makes everything taste better.
Vegetable soup is a family favorite in our house. I normally make cornbread to have with it. Now I will have to try to serve it with garlic bread.
PLEASE have these gentlemen try/react different illusions. Optical illusions, professional magic tricks, card tricks, and other stunning things!
Tahir is the Cliff Claven of their village
I love split pea soup with garlic bread too. Glad to see it's not so different then WHT they often eat.
This soup shows we are all the same ❤
(I love the background music, as well!) 😄
I always love to hear people from that area, Whether India, Pakistan.. how they pronounce vegetables .. When americans say it its sounds like "VETCH TUH BULLS " But when someone from India, Pakistand say it.. it sounds like "VEGGIE TAY BULLS " I love it :D God Bless you all and long life. I love watching you all. I wish so much I could meet you all some day.
My first time seeing a video from this channel. I love cooking and different cultures.. These men are so cute and sweet...I want to cook for them now. I'd love to try their food too. I've had some "Indian food" here in the states but I'm not sure how authentic it is. My mom makes split pea soup with ham and onions. Very little carrots though.
