- Part 2 of the subsoiling vids!
A very short video for me, but when this was filmed i still wasn't quite feeling myself, and didnt put as much effort in as i normally would do. but i hope you enjoy it nonetheless! :)
oh and with a little teaser to what the next video will be about :) :)
That’s the most concise explanation of sub soiling that I’ve came across. Great job!
Has to be the best explanation about a process I've ever watched, especially for those of us who have an interest but will never get the chance to work in this area or with these machines. Brilliant. Subscribing. Thank You
It's lovely to see farmer, who cares about nature of things. Wish you more possibilities for new knowledges. Thumbs up from Ukraine 👍👍👍
Great video Jonny, subsoiling is on of the most over looked aspect of modern agriculture. Back in the 80's I lived in Devon, we had a subsoiler on demo from memory it was a McCormick or mcdonald shakarator we used a 100hp MF 699, the subsoiler it had a PTO drive to vibrate the machine which reduced the horse power to operate. Back in the 80's 100 HP was a big machine, compared to the Fendt today it would be a toy.
The field we sub-soiled, the following harvest the yield dramatically increased. All the bet from Australia.
Evening Jonny. Good to see you back it’ll take you a long time to be your self inside again. But you will be. Enjoyed this video good explanation of how it works. Your kit is a pleasure to watch working. Hang on in there. 👍
Thanks my mate!
Your right, it’s going to take a long time to heal after this year, and I’m sure i will always be carrying around the scars but we’re only here once aren’t we.
A life lived looking into the past, has no future.
And that’s not how I want to live mine :)
Thanks again my mate, really means a lot to me to read that :)
Top notch 👍👍
Happy you're back, love your positivity, your videos never get old 🙂
Thanks my mate! :) I spent a good portion of my life feeling down and sad about my past and things that have happened in my life.
I just told myself one day that I mustn’t let it drag me down. Whatever happens, good or bad, we only get once chance in this life. If something good happens, BE HAPPY!
If something sad or terrible happens BE SAD,
Deal with it however you feel you should. “But” never dwell, the past can’t be changed,
so we should definitely not let the past change our future :)
:)
Edited my comment my mate, didn’t see what else you have written underneath :)
Jonny 1388 well said, definitely need to get that into my head 😂 (soz I changed my comment afew times I was trying to say what I wanted to without it being cringy)
Hi Jonny, Hope you're doing well mate. Thank you for explaining how and why everything works, very much appreciated. I enjoyed this video and looking forward to the next one as that's defiantly a mighty plow you got there lol. Take care mate :)
Great to see you back jonny lad. Hope you are well
Thanks mark! Feeling better and ready to start a fresh now! :) onwards and upwards mate! :) hope your well too!
Christ! Really nice plough there! Outstanding
Thanks Thomas! It’s a lovely tool for eating the acres up! :)
Well done lad, bet the fendt doesn't notice that sub soiler! Can't wait to see the star ship enterprise at work 😆
On our light land Simon, she would need 9legs behind it to make it break a sweat lol
We’ll have to see what Father Christmas brings! :)
🚜🚜🚜 I use too do all what u do back in the days miss it lots that’s y love all videos u all do keep them coming 🤠👍💗
Great stuff Jonny an so good to hear the Jonny o old coming back keep them coming 😊
Nice to see you back Jonny i know you were not yourself when you filmed the video but still enjoyed it, cannot wait to see the plough at work. what a beast.
Thanks Adrian! I filmed the subsoiling footage not long after what had happened. Just didn’t feel quite myself and never got round to finishing it, but I didn’t want to get rid of what I’d filmed :)
Glad you enjoyed it still mate :)
Great vid Jonny. Very informative. Love you're channel.
Great informative video as ever. Top job Jonny. 🤘
Great video jonny, if you get time would you have a natter about which older tractors make & models you have used or like, say 1990s to early 2000s cheers kid 🚜👍
Thanks for the explanation about the subsoiling great video cheers, Les ,
Another great video Jonny keep them coming👍
I'm guessing the video has no finish processing it yet no HD nonetheless. I will sit and watch another great video
It should be in 1080p dude! At least I hope it is, or I’ve done something wrong! Lol if you happen to look at it again, could you tell me if it’s gone 1080 yet? Using new edited software and I’m still getting used to it :)
Thanks my mate, hopefully you’ll like the next one too! :)
just a heads up UA-cam usually takes awhile to process videos 1080p 60fps usually anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes and it is done. and yes it is full HD now
It is in 1080p Jonny. Great to have the "old" Jonny back and hope there is no reason to have a sad Jonny any time soon, if ever
Last sub soiling I did was on 100 acres that had never been out of grass for at least 50 yrs 🤔😳 twin leg subsoiler an 125 hp an struggled big time lol also had to weld rebar on all wearing surfaces as without were only getting about 5 acres out o a set ☹️
Wow, that sounds like some hard ground Robert! I bet the tractor was sweating a bit doing that!
Proper job Jonny 👌I can now sleep 😴 knowing how deep your going 🚜🚜🚜😎
LMAO! You’ve got the evidence now Pete! Jonny1388 doesn’t mess about 😂😂
We need a catch up Pete, missed or little phone calls recently mate! :)
Jonny 1388 defo mate I’m having a couple of days off this week putting new liners in 602 engine (so much power it made the seals leak 🚜🚜) 💪🏻 so I will give you a shout
Haha! You should of left them leaking pete! They would match the rest of the tractor then mate! 😂😂
It needs to at least look “original” 😂😂
Sounds good to me mate! :)
Jonny 1388 🐓😂😂😂😂😂😭
Great to see you back mate
Thanks Stephen! :)
My strange addiction I’m addicted to Jonny 1388 videos... can’t wait for the ploughing vid!!
fine piece of kit Jonny
Would you usually subsoil all of the field every year or just the tramlines?
It varies massively Adam.
we will only subsoil the tramlines and a bit of the headlands after a cereal crop unless it will be getting planted with veg as the next crop, then we will do the whole field.
A lot of the time it’s just whether or not the field needs it after being tested.
We’re very lucky to have light black soil which doesn’t compact very easily :)
@@Jonny1388 Ah right, cheers🤘
Nice video Jonny good to see you back mate proper Job lol
Cheers Micheal! Feels great to be back at it again! :)
@@Jonny1388 you're a good man Jonny I would love to meat you some day I love your vids keep the good work up mate 👍

I’d love to arrange a meet up day in the future. I’ll see what i can sort out, would be lovely to put faces to the names :)
Another great video 👍
Hey jonny, I think you could do with a bigger subsoiler mate. Making a nice job mind. Stephen.
Nice to see arable working being on a dairy farm it's all grass grass grass lol
Thanks Kieran! I’d love a go a forage harvesting though! Never done it before! :)
Your tyres look bit flat lol... glad see back Johnny hope your well
There low to give more grip

Good your back
Thanks Paul! :)
Take care jonny your are awsome
Thanks James! I don’t know about awesome...but I’ll take the compliment nonetheless! :) lol
Good video keep it up 👍
Thanks Trevor!! :)
You are quite literally, Fred Dibnah reincarnat.
Haha!! Cannot tell you what an honour that is Mr T!
hi jonny great video mate
Thanks mike! :)
Why have the subsoiler or the 1050 surely your 240 puma would pull it if it's only a 5 leg
Good question!
There’s no point having a 1050 fendt sat in the shed while a 240 puma does the job slower, uses more diesel has more wheelslip and wears its tyres out faster.
The 240 can pull the subsoiler but not half as well as the 1050 can. :)
Tis a very good way of looking at it I wish the contractor I work for would see it that way. Thanks Jonny😀
Good video… would you ever work in a factory…… 😂😱
🚜🚜🚜🚜
Hang on....I’ll have to think about this for a second....😂😂😜
Thanks Peter :)
How much diesel do you spend per hectare in this job? and what is the price of diesel ?.
in Uruguay the price of diesel is of 1.3 dollars per liter.
SALUDOS from Uruguay
It changes all the time, the soil is so varied it is very hard to work out and accurate average :)
Thanks for watching :)
probably second!
Nearly dude! You were 3rd this time!
Is it just me or those tires really flat
They are very flat Ryan!
They are supposed to be my mate :)
👍
Jonny 1388 are they the VF tyres. If they are you can run them at about 5-7psi. I went on a tyre course last year and learnt loads about tyre pressures and how much it reduces compaction and preserves the soil.
First
Well done Cameron!! :) 👍
Love the videos mate :)
Are disk rippers not often used? We use them to do this job as well as replacing the plow whenever possible. Sometimes the plow is the better tool. But mostly it is avoided in my area.
cheers for explain wath a sobsiler was i didnt no like your pasion for job
Thanks for telling me about sub soiling I was clue less but now I know 👍 that plow looks like a beast looking forward to seeing the video
Thanks James!!
When I was a young boy, I always wondered what farmers were doing, it just looked like they were putting lines in the soil. Lol
Cheers mate! I’ve done a collaboration with Chris from pro horizon so there will be lots of drone footage of the plough too :)
Your major could pull them five legs
Love your work lad truly do appreciate what you do lad. How's she cutting lad. KEEP HER LIT LAD
Thanks John! Means a lot my mate! :)
You hit the nail on the head there Jonny "the more you understand the better you can do the job" and thats why these style of videos that you make are so important for the none farming folk and the up and coming future farmers.
great to see you back and bring on that plough what a beauty.
First time watching you, lad you crack me up, your light hearted banter is actually very informative , and and you treat the land and the kit, as you brits call it with respect, hats off . job well done.
Jesus thats on big plow you got there jonny i am used to plowing a 7 hectare field with my 3 furrow plow that thing is just masive
Greeting from the Nethetlands
Do you know if anyone has ever tried some hard face welding to protect the back of those legs? Thanks for the video.
8:50 I like watching how the weight of the tractor doesn't move the soil at all but the subsoiler lifts and shifts everything.
Great video Johnny. Really looking forward to the next one. That plough looks a beast.
Buen vídeo, ese apero lo utilizas para desfondar el terreno? Por allí no tenéis itas?, o sea, bloques de piedra enterrados?
Wow, this tractor Fendt 1050 in the best 😁
Good job man.
Great video thanks Jonny looking forward to seeing how the plough performs with the slatted boards 👍🏻🚜
Thanks graham! It makes a cracking job now mate! Especially after fitting the presses! Lovely piece of kit to use, it really is. Not as big and numb as it looks
Should do a live stream mate 😉
Great video jonny
Thank you Bob! :)
Brilliant work.. keep em coming
Oh this video is deep🤣😉 haha but really love this vids, they are just great! Plow on man and take care // sweden 🤟
Haha!! I love the deep joke 😂😂
Thanks Robert!
You take care of yourself mate!
Sending my greetings and best wishes to Sweden! :)
Reminds me of using a Howard Paraplow in the eighties!! Got through so many blooming shear bolts. Great video.
A paraplough! I’ve never seen one used in the field but the idea of them looks like a really sound idea, seems like they would cope with lots of trash easier being set up like a conventional plough?
Oh god.....bloody shear bolts...I get through boxes and boxes of them every year. We have a lot of bog oak.
I hate that sound, that dull “bang”
And you think, “dam it, that’s another one gone” lol
Bring it on Jonny 1388 .
A superb piece of machinery mate, I was however just wondering what your tyre pressures were ??
Thanks my mate!
They changed depending on what implement I’ve got on.
Around 8psi in the field though, sometimes 10psi if the ground is very hard :)
Great video as always Jonny. Keep up the good and inspiring videos👍🏻
Thanks Charlie my mate! :)
All right Jonny I had to change my alien because it went faulty so got a replacement and still happy with it my new one like a dark orange and black trime
Was it to do with the battery Matt? Mine went faulty, Put fully charged batteries in, but it kept saying they were empty.
Dark orange and black sounds like an awesome combination Matt! :)
@@Jonny1388 no mine was the mod it self and yer it look really cool don't know of a way to show you a picture of it
Great video mate hope all's good !!👍👍
Thanks Matt! Onwards and upwards now buddy👍👍 :)
👍👍
Nice one Jonny.just bought a international 785xl to do a bit of ploughing on a local working day I would of asked if I could of borrowed your plough but I might need a few more horses to pull that lol
Oh nick, il swap you for the major!! What a lovely modern classic!!
We had an 956 on the farm, lovely thing it was! :)
Good video Jonny 😎😎😎😎
Thanks my mate! :)
Good to see you back.
